I got a gel manicure and the lady was rude, didn't ask what shape I wanted, cut down my long natural nails and was unsanitary. I put my hand in the bowl to soften my cuticles, and then when I switched, she cleaned off the tool IN the bowl where my hand was. And was drying my nails in between with the dirty rag she was working on and then getting my cuticles wet again with the water that my left hand and right cuticle pieces were in. Then used this dirty rag to wipe down the LED light thing and the counter. I also asked her to do something different to my nails and she shook her had no and pushed my hand away. Very rude and disrespectful. I took my elderly mother there to get her fax waxed but she decided on a nail trim and polish. My mom has very limited mobility and their spa chairs are pretty high. So we were going to have her put her foot on a stool to do it. My mom suffers from Parkinson's disease and her legs and feet are very swollen First, the lady in charge stated, not asked, that we were doing gel. I said no, we wanted regular polish. She replied back that they didn't have time for that. I didn't ask but I'd say they do it for other people but just didn't want to do it for my mom. Well I got my moms foot up on the stool and the lady motioned for w worker to help my mom. This worker just ignored her and ignored my mom until we got the hint that she didn't want to do it. I assume bc of the condition of my moms legs. I wanted to flip on them but I didn't want to make a scene and embarrass my mother. So we just left. We will never go back read more

I have been to Fantasy nails many times over the past few years and I have always been satisfied. However, they absolutely outdid themselves for my birthday this year!! Nina did an AMAZING job paying attention to specific detail on each and everyone of my nails, including each hand placed jewel on my toes. I went in with ideas but letting her run with her own creativity using my inspiration left me speechless. I went in for a nail fill today and before the nail technicians came in, a guy was helping me first. He was taking the polish off of my nails with a file and on my one nail that was broken, which I told him about when I first came in, he tried to take off the polish instead of just removing the nail and it broke and he cut my finger. I didn't make a big deal about it because he apologized, but he did not disinfect the area. The lady who did my nails was great and did an amazing job. But, when I went to pay for my nails the man who cut me was checking me out at the register. I asked for a discount because of the cut that went all the way around my finger and he got angry and told me never to come back. I was very calm the whole time and I got yelled at. I did not receive a discount and they violated health safety rules by not covering my wound. read more

Had my 1st visit...I just moved to the area so I've been looking for a new nail salon that I feel comfortable in and they do a good job...Fantasy Nails was not bad but wasn't all that great either...I was able to call that day and make an appointment for later in the afternoon...when I arrived they asked how may they help me...then told me to have a seat and pick a color while I wait...I only had to wait 15 mins past my appointment time...I got a new set put on and in doing so the gentleman that did my nails only spoke to me when he need to know length and shape and that sort of thing...no other conversation...he did a pretty good job except he got the acrylic all over the side of my fingers...however, he cleaned it up and got the shape and length right...its wasn't a bad experience but it did leave me feeling like they didn't care if I came back or not...so that is why I put my review in the middle...I've also included pictures of my nails so you can see for yourself. read more

As a gift, I promised a manicure for my MIL's Mother's Day present. We've never gotten a manicure in Motown before and I had no idea where to look. I found reviews for Fantasy Nail Salon & Spa and decided to book an appointment although they take walk-ins most days. I am SO glad we chose this place! Brian did my gel manicure and it's immaculate. He obviously takes pride in his work as he took his time and ensured each of my nails were perfect. My MIL's nails were done by a younger woman who I believe was being trained there. She also took her time and complimented the colors we chose, asking about our dogs and our lives. All three of the staff members were friendly and personable, offering us water and candy and making sure we were comfortable. Afterwards, Brian came over and cleaned up the edges of my MIL's nails to make them look perfect. Their gel manis are $33, which, in my opinion, in an excellent price and the work done was well worth the money. I am currently on the second day of my manicure and it looks flawless. I'll be updating after a week or so with how they've held up. *Note: we were the only 3 people in the salon at the time, so I can't say how attentive they are if they are busy. But the store was extremely clean and I saw no red flags in the few hours we were there. read more

This place is great! When I went in, it was 12° outside, so my hands were cold. They put a little heater fan on the counter for my hands to warm up before beginning my nails. I went in for a fill-in, and some of my nails were previously chipped. The guy doing my nails was sure to fix these chips before adding new acrylic. Walked in to an extremely awkward salon where I had to ask to check in for my appointment time, finally breaking the awkward silence. Sat for 30 mins past my appointment (which is fine) but when an employee finally approached me, I asked how much longer it would be/how many people are infront of me. I was In there for 1 hr and 20 min for a gel nail polish coloring. A lady came in 10 min after me, got a pedicure and got acrylic nails attached, clipped and filed down m in the time it took them to remove my nail polish and paint on a new sloppy coat. I posted a pick of my white nail polish but he Got nail polish on my skin, it needed a third layer of polish, it's not nice even layers of polish and it took him 45 seconds per finger nail to paint.... So long. Idk why it took 35 min of soaking my finger tips in acetone to remove my nail polish but I never had a problem in the past. Also one of the coworkers rudely blamed me for having acrylic nails and it was my fault it didn't come off (which it was clearly gel nail polish) Not happy with my visit, I'll be trying other places. read more

Though the salon had nice chairs and a TV, I had to wait for about 35 minutes to get my nails done becuase there wasn't enough staff for our party of 4. The color is still beautiful on my mani and pedi, but the woman doing my pedicure was shaping them so short, I have cuts on my big toe. Today, two days after the visit, I also have a different toenail that seems infected (puss coming from the very short nail). The experience I just had was so terrible I feel like I should write a review to warn others. I called yesterday to get an appointment for a Saturday morning. They were wide open which should have told me something. I came in with a friend for a pedicure and we were the only customer in the place for over an hour. The woman who did my toes seemed like she was winging it and did not speak English so my "ouch's" were in vain. She decided to scrub the callouses off of my feet while they were dry. I asked multiple times if I should put my feet in the water and she said no. So she scrubbed my feet raw and then "shaped" my toe nails down to a nub. I don't have any toenails but she went so far to cut them until they bled despite me telling her it hurt. She also seemed frustrated that I could not hold my entire leg up and at an angle for 5 minutes and would get upset if I put any weight into her hand. The paint job was done sloppingly and then "cleaned up" with a tool. My friend had a male who decided it would be a good idea to scrub a sore on her foot to make it smooth which she told me was very painful. The entire time both of us were cringing and it was the opposite of a relaxing experience. I'm not sure why this shop is still open or why it had such good reviews but I will never come back here again. read more

Then today my friend had made an appointment for the two of us, when we came in they began on her nails and then tried to tell us we never called for a second appointment and that they couldnt do my nails... when they had clearly set us both a time up.
