The property management group I work at has used TK Elevator for over two decades at multiple of…read morethe properties. TKE is, by far, the worst elevator company in the PNW. Their communication has been awful for years, and my entire company is in the process of pulling our contacts with them as a result. Unfortunately, TKE makes it nearly impossible to break a contract. TKE has inspected one property's elevator on a yearly basis for over 20 years. Each annual inspection generated the same positive response: "the elevator looks great - no issues!" But this year, the elevator cables had somehow become so damaged that TKE shut down the elevator immediately. It seems unlikely that after 20+ years of inspections, the cables could suddenly go from "great" to "unsafe" in one year. TKE did not give any warning of this shutdown to my team or to the building's tenants. This building is 4 stories tall, and the immediate shutdown resulted in some disabled tenants being forced to walk down from the fourth floor, which was extremely unfair. The situation would have been a lot better had TKE given us even 30 minutes of notice, so people could come downstairs using the elevator rather than struggle down 4 flights of stairs. It took 6 weeks to repair the cables because the new cables had to be shipped from overseas. This meant that for 6 weeks, tenants (including the disabled tenants) had to walk up to 4 floors to reach their units. This caused significant issues for a tenant who was scheduled to move out a week after the elevator was shut down. Ultimately, we had to delay their moveout until the elevator was fixed, which was not ideal. After this disaster (among others) my company decided to break our contract with TK Elevator. Our account rep, Griffin Sissel, was nearly entirely unreachable during this process. We provided all of the necessary evidence to break our contract and provided 30 days notice, yet TKE ignored us until the last minute. When we finally did break the contract, we still needed TKE to return the emergency elevator keys so we could pass them along to the new elevator service vendor. My team reached out to Griffin and other TKE employees a whopping 26 times before receiving an answer. 26 times!! That is just insane. We sent email after email, called time after time, and yet only received four replies during this entire saga. Three of those replies passed the task onto someone else and did not result in any follow-up communication to us. The final reply was Griffin Sissel "resolving" the issue by saying that TKE never had the emergency elevator keys in the first place, which seemed like a questionable answer. If you are looking for an elevator company that does honest work, has clear and consistent communication, and is easy to work with, please look further than TK Elevator. They are genuinely one of the worst vendors in Oregon. I would recommend Willamette Elevator Company or Schindler instead.

Unfortunately, they seem to be one of the only companies in this area that offers this service. I will continue my search.
