Now I love coming into this location- Evan is always super helpful, friendly and I can rely on him for any questions I have. He has an amazing attitude with everything! Jesus always helps direct me on where to find things and super knowledge about large snakes in particular. I used to see Josh at the Escondido location and its been a pleasure seeing him at Oceanside as I frequent here now. Always had a smile, welcomes everyone, and ready to help. There also used to be a gross incense burning that made me want to get in and out asap. Now that it isn't burning anymore I like to walk around and look at the reptiles to see if there are any new ones to add. Only rating 4 stars because the heat in there during the autumn & summer is sweltering! I feel so bad for the employees working under such hot conditions.

We found 1 on one of chicks that was green, easily seen & immediately removed it before it cut off circulation and damaged the chick BUT...... there was a light purple band on another one that we didn't see! Now the chick needs medical attention, her foot will need to be removed for her to survive. This is a pet of ours, a silky chicken that has been put through so much already. We contacted Hawthornes and they said we could exchange the chick now 7 weeks old and attached to our family as we've been taking care of her round the clock. They say "they will take care of the chick as best they can if we exchange her" ..... BS, She will be euthanized. We've requested they have the rest of her foot taken care of by a vet and ensure she will be ok with just a peg leg on one side as a get her back to us as AGAIN, SHE'S OUR PET! They said no, exchange only. PROOF they will euthanize her.

I went in the dog washes area it was dirty. Both dog washes were out of shampoos and conditioner.i had my dog wet in the tub cold while we fetched an employee to come in. She opened up the box and confirmed everything was out. She went away to grab the supplies and refilled. The self serve dog wash at petco was supposed to be a convenient place with all supplies provided, and a clean area. It was the complete opposite. I do not recommend. Area is neglected and not kept up. I wish I would have taken pictures for this review.

I submitted an adoption application because I was…read moreinterested in providing a loving home to one of their cats, and I was ultimately told that my application was not approved. When I reached out for clarification, I received a response stating that the decision was not specific to a particular cat and that I would not be approved for any future adoptions through the organization. What was most frustrating was the complete lack of explanation or transparency. I completely understand that rescues have to be careful about where their animals are placed, and I respect the volunteers who dedicate their time to helping cats. However, that does not excuse treating applicants as though they are not entitled to basic communication or respect. After being denied, I was given no explanation whatsoever beyond a generic message saying the decision was final. When I expressed my confusion and disappointment, the response essentially amounted to "we don't have to tell you why," followed by a lengthy explanation about how carefully they review applications. That may be their policy, but hiding behind a policy does not make the experience feel any less frustrating or impersonal. If you are going to ask applicants to provide extensive information about their home, lifestyle, references, and ability to care for an animal, I think it is reasonable for applicants to expect some level of transparency in return--especially when they are genuinely trying to provide a loving home. I would have appreciated a respectful conversation or even a basic explanation of what concern led to the decision. Instead, I was left feeling judged without being given an opportunity to understand or address whatever concern they had. I hope they reconsider how they communicate with potential adopters. The process made me feel as though I was being discriminated against based on factors unrelated to my ability to provide a safe, loving, and stable home. The animals deserve excellent homes, and the people applying deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect, too.

Let me start by saying that this is apparently a TSC corporate issue as well as a store issue…read more I was looking for a good price on hydraulic fluid for my tractor online, and found that TSC carried what I needed. They charged about $17 to deliver in a few days or $19 to deliver on that day. I placed the order online and waited, and waited, and waited. Then I went back to check on the order and the online system said it could not be delivered that day, as promised, but would be there by 3:30pm the next day. I decided I could just pick up what I needed in Escondido, so I canceled the online order, that same day, within a few hours, using the same system I used to order it. The next day, without any communication at all, a guy shows up at my door with the product. I told him I had canceled the order. He verified to me that he was delivering on behalf of the Valley Center TSC and he was a 3rd party contractor. He said this has happened many times before. I told him I didn't need the product and to take it back. He showed me the text he sent to TSC that stated my reasons. The next day, I checked my credit card and saw the "pending" charge still sitting on the account. I waited to see if it would reconcile in the next day or so. The next day, late in the day, someone tried to deliver the pale of fluid AGAIN. This time he dropped it off on my driveway, made no attempt to contact me, and was headed up the driveway on foot when I called to him (three times) and he finally responded. I told him the order had been canceled, and I asked if he worked for TSC. He said he DID work for TSC, the SAME STORE in Valley Center that the other guy tried to deliver from. He took that pale away and I checked my credit card the next day to find that the charge was still pending. I waited for another 24 hours and low and behold the charge went from pending to CHARGED on my account. It then became a phone hassle for me to try to get my money back from a company that refused to take NO for an answer and was bent on shoving their product down my throat, no matter what. I don't know if this is a corporate issue or a store issue, but I DO know that this was no accident or miscommunication. They can't blame the computer for this. I was able to get a "Team Leader" at the store to process a "Return" for a product I never received, on an order I canceled within a couple of hours of placing it, but now I can spend even more time making sure that this happens. I always liked the store and the idea of having their products available for a reasonable price, but I will not do business with shady people, no matter how good the store may appear to be. I'm done with TSC for good, unless I get a corporate person to reach out to me and convince me that this is just the actions of a rogue store manager in Valley Center and not a typical TSC experience.

They also let us meet multiple dogs and it looked like they really took care of their animals. We couldn't be happier with our little guy today. They now require appointments for vaccines, so I scheduled a time and their website said it would be $20 for one vaccine. When I arrived, the person at the counter (who could use some customer service training) said it would be $85 because Carlsbad residents are out of their jurisdiction. What? The shelter is 4 minutes from my house...in Carlsbad! Our dog received vaccines here about 8 months ago and we never had any of these issues. The right thing to do would be to honor your on-line pricing and notify customers before they show up if your policies have changed.
