I had to bring my Vizsla in because he was having neurological issues and could barely walk He was knuckling and all four legs were failing. The staff were so accommodating. I checked in and let the front desk know we were waiting in the parking lot in my Jeep. Nurse Lisa and Dr. Brandon came out to my vehicle and did the assessment there so I didn't have to add more stress to my dog trying to carry him in. They were thorough, caring and I feel like nurse Lisa went above and beyond to help care for Ruger. I'm happy to say the treatment plan is working and today he was able to get up and walk outside to go potty unassisted today, just two days later. read more

I've never really compared, but I have checked other clinics' prices on cat food and found that Shadowridge Veterinary Hospital's prescription food was competitively priced. As always, the Shadowridge Veterinary Hospital team members were fast and extremely efficient in accessing my saved payment method, allowing me to swing by and pick up my phone order (no contact necessary). Avoid Shadowridge Veterinary Hospital at all costs if your dog is critically ill. This hospital completely failed my boyfriend's dog. He was led to believe his dog would be properly hospitalized, monitored, and maintained on IV fluids, yet they were not upfront about the fact that they are NOT a 24-hour facility. Overnight, his IV fluids were stopped and replaced with subcutaneous fluids instead, despite his condition being serious and his kidney values continuing to worsen. He repeatedly asked whether his dog should be transferred to a specialty hospital, and instead of being honest about their limitations, they insisted they could manage his case and told him his dog was not critical enough to require emergency specialty care. Even after repeat bloodwork showed his creatinine had worsened and his condition was deteriorating, they still did not urgently recommend transfer. By the time he finally got his dog to a specialty hospital, it was too late. Unfortunately, he passed away. What makes this experience even more devastating is feeling like valuable time was lost because their judgment was trusted. When a hospital is not equipped to provide around-the-clock critical care, owners deserve honesty and transparency from the beginning so they can make informed decisions for their pets. The lack of urgency, poor communication, and failure to escalate care appropriately left us heartbroken and deeply disappointed. No family should ever have to question whether earlier intervention could have changed the outcome. His dog deserved better. read more

Shadowridge was where my rescue pup was taken for his health exam and neutering. Their notes and records on him seemed comprehensive and detailed and while I only visited once for his after surgery checkup, was very impressed with the space and services they offer. First of all, it was larger than I expected with a good sized lobby and store section and play area. I didn't realize at the time that it was also a pet hotel and that they also have grooming available. Everything was very clean and welcoming and the staff at the front desk were very kind and helpful. Too bad they only have this location in north county, I really hope they open another in central San Diego at some point. read more

Shadowridge Vet Hospital is a wonderful place to take your pets. We had our MeMe in for a Foxtail Explore/ Removal under anesthesia as she had violent sneezing attacks. Fortunately, no Foxtail but inflammation and redness. Prescribed meds, and she got an allergy shot. I let it go but now that both my cats have been unrecognizable since we came home- I am pissed beyond letting it go. For the doctor to not do the medical exam just because I requested I append it is unexcusable. yoy have gotten away with doing it when I board just because it was mandatory for boarding done after we drop off. This is third time I have not ever met a doc about my cats. I will be pulling them from ever seeing one of you! It is YOU who should be giving my cats their shots. How do I know the asts with no degree of anything and ask much turn over there knows what's she's doing. Both my cats have been so sick sl weekend. Cats that I do no recognize st all! I hate that you could not take 2 seconds to meet and talk to me about my cats healyh. Gal who gave shots said ill being them back and doctor either check them. I said well I will be included in visit. Then a room became available and I came in to only vet asst giving shots with no visit.. it save me a lot of money and for what?
