I fell on hard times with a 9 year old eplictic dog. I am out of HER medicine. Additionally I'm a few months away from having major neck surgery and will not be able to take my dog in to get her refills as they are extorting me to do. So my dog my 9-year-old dog that I've had for 9 years with epilepsy Dr Jenny is totally fine letting this dog go without medication to punish me for being unemployed. Additionally when I informed the staff I have to give her my seizure medication just so my dog would not go punished for me being disabled and needing major neck surgery, the staff then cut all ties with me. Because the staff realizes the liability they have on their hands of me not taking my medicine to give it to my elderly epileptic seizure dog that they are denying medication for on the premise to bring her only to stop their coffers I would give zero Stars if possible but Yelp is way too kind read more

Avoid Shadowridge Veterinary Hospital at all costs if your dog is critically ill. This hospital completely failed my boyfriend's dog. He was led to believe his dog would be properly hospitalized, monitored, and maintained on IV fluids, yet they were not upfront about the fact that they are NOT a 24-hour facility. Overnight, his IV fluids were stopped and replaced with subcutaneous fluids instead, despite his condition being serious and his kidney values continuing to worsen. He repeatedly asked whether his dog should be transferred to a specialty hospital, and instead of being honest about their limitations, they insisted they could manage his case and told him his dog was not critical enough to require emergency specialty care. Even after repeat bloodwork showed his creatinine had worsened and his condition was deteriorating, they still did not urgently recommend transfer. By the time he finally got his dog to a specialty hospital, it was too late. Unfortunately, he passed away. What makes this experience even more devastating is feeling like valuable time was lost because their judgment was trusted. When a hospital is not equipped to provide around-the-clock critical care, owners deserve honesty and transparency from the beginning so they can make informed decisions for their pets. The lack of urgency, poor communication, and failure to escalate care appropriately left us heartbroken and deeply disappointed. No family should ever have to question whether earlier intervention could have changed the outcome. His dog deserved better. read more

We wait at least 30 minutes on every visit to see Dr. Schiebert. She is excellent but there needs to be a change in the appointment scheduling. We have been coming here for four years and she is consistently behind. While she does spend the needed time with each pet, the wait time could really be improved. We had a 5 PM appointment yesterday and Dr. Schiebert did not see our pet until 5:45 PM. The hard wood seats in the examining rooms are not comfortable. My time can be better spent. read more

Shadowridge was where my rescue pup was taken for his health exam and neutering. Their notes and records on him seemed comprehensive and detailed and while I only visited once for his after surgery checkup, was very impressed with the space and services they offer. First of all, it was larger than I expected with a good sized lobby and store section and play area. I didn't realize at the time that it was also a pet hotel and that they also have grooming available. Everything was very clean and welcoming and the staff at the front desk were very kind and helpful. Too bad they only have this location in north county, I really hope they open another in central San Diego at some point. read more

I've been bringing my animals (2 dogs, 3 cats) to Shadowridge Vet for 6 years. I had to bring my Vizsla in because he was having neurological issues and could barely walk He was knuckling and all four legs were failing. The staff were so accommodating. I checked in and let the front desk know we were waiting in the parking lot in my Jeep. Nurse Lisa and Dr. Brandon came out to my vehicle and did the assessment there so I didn't have to add more stress to my dog trying to carry him in. They were thorough, caring and I feel like nurse Lisa went above and beyond to help care for Ruger.
