Love! I grew up in vista and this place has been there as long as I can remember. I used to get some of my horse supplies there when I was young. I recently moved back to the area after being gone almost 15 years and I'm happy to see this place still here. The staff here is very nice. I went in on Sunday (11/16) and the gentleman helping us (Uhg I cannot remember his name... he was wearing a baseball hat!) was wildly knowledgeable about chickens. I came in for 3 buff Orpingtons but they only had one small one left. I got her and he helped me pick out an Amerucana (that I'm being told by others is actually an Easter Egger EE and not a true Amerucana) and a Salmon Faverolles of equivalent size and age to her so that they were more likely to get along. He also assisted me in getting a water bowl, the right medicated food, some electrolytes and gave me a quick lesson on when to change their food to "laying food". I also picked up some DE and Bermuda per his suggestion for their coop. I am so thrilled and so are my kids! read more

I drive by this place all the time, and finally stopped by because of the sign saying they had goats and chicks. My kid enjoyed seeing all the animals- turkeys, rabbits, chickens, and even a hog that doesn't have to be in a cage. I thought this place would be more like a bare bones supply warehouse, but it's more like a rustic country store that even has gifts. One store has horse supplies and a boutique, the other is gourmet pet food and treats. They carry unique items not found at big box pet stores. Customer service was okay, all staff seemed miserable and angry but they did manage to force themselves to greet us. Intuition tells me they have berating management, that's how it appears. Overall, this place is an interesting country experience. The animal area in the back is definitely "country". I am glad they are still here. read more

Picked up my first set of baby chicks here in February, then a second set of chicks in March '24. All the chicks turned out to be healthy egg layers! Great selection of egg layers if you want a colorful carton of fresh eggs. This store has had just about anything I've needed for chicks; from waterers, feeders, and hay, all the way to pine shavings, treats, and dewormer. The ladies at the front are always sweet and helpful, and Cat remembers me by first name whenever I come in for feed or supplies. Miccah is always so helpful too and always encourages me to go see the animals. The fellas who load up the heavy stuff are always very kind too, and much appreciated. Their prices are fair but more expensive than other places I've checked into. For example, I believe their organic oats are more than 2x the price of Azure Standard, so I get my organic Modesto feed here, and buy oats from Azure. I gave 4 stars only because the prices are more expensive than other feed stores, and for organic feed being sold out more than once during peak chick season in the Spring. read more

Great selection for all things pet! Rustic, homey feel and the staff is like this as well- friendly, knowledgeable & quick. I mostly go for puppy/dog items which they have everything I need. Including puppy food, adult dog food, puppy toys & treats, and adult dog treats, food, shampoo and medicinals. They have training treats, leashes, beds, food bowls, dog swim floaties, OH and they have a rewards program where you get a free bag of dog food once you've purchased a certain amount of bags. Beyond rude. Website says they open at 8:30. Apparently not. The general manager arrives at 8:30, along with another employee. They enter through the gate and I'm waiting for them to open the front door. Of course in a hurry because I'm on my way to work. After waiting I walk through the gate and enter the store through the back. For the years, literally decades, I've been coming to this store, it had never been an issue to enter or exit this way. But this morning the general manager sees me and rudely states "We're not open yet." So I explain their website says 8:30. She rudely replies "Yeah well we're not open yet and you don't enter through the gate. You need to go back out and we'll open in a few minutes." I left. HORRIBLE customer service. And she's the general manager?!?! And the first time I called to complain I was hung up on. Looks like I'll be paying double to get my feed from Amazon. What really sucks is I'll miss taking my little girls there to look at the animals. So sad. And I've been going there since I was a little girl. read more

There's really not a whole lot of feed stores in the area so this is the main one. When you're the main feed store sometimes you may get a big head but not all the time. There's not a ton of parking and because it's on a very busy street it can be very difficult to drive in their parking lot. They have two buildings but the main one is on the right if you're looking at the feed store. This is a pretty big operation going on here and they probably have an acre or more of land. The building on the left has tons of dog supplies at great prices and they carry quality items. I'm impressed with the dog building because its so clean and well organized. From the front of the business it may not look like much but they have several farm animals in the back for sale. This is definitely a place you want to check out. I know a lot of people are saying the customer service needs some help and that could be true but everybody has a bad day here and there. read more

I come here all the time because they carry the brand of dog food here that my Danes like PLUS the free kitty pets (my husband and I look for them all the time) I will continue to come here however I wasn't too thrilled about todays visit. Per the website they close at 5pm on Saturdays. I walked in at 4:40 and the gal was closing already, lights were off and when I asked if she could still sell to me; she shrugged and said I guess so. This is second times they made a mistakes on chicken feed. We show them the picture of baf and asked for pallet's but they put 4 bags of 50 lb inside the car, we drive about an 40 minutes and there is no excuse to make mistakes twice. Great little place!! I came here to rent some hay bales for my sons 1st birthday. The staff was very friendly. Their prices are incredibly affordable as well. Only $5/bale!! Can't beat that! Below is the photo of the owner stacy stating she will put me on the list which she never did and then won't honor what she said. The owner Stacy is the most unprofessional business owner I have ever had the pleasure of speaking with. Her way of doing business is definitely not a way to treat customers. I had called Monday asking about baby chicks and was told to call Friday morning at 830am to be put on a list for chicks coming in April 10. I called all morning with no answer. I messaged on Facebook and was told I would be put on the list and Cat would give me a call later when they were not busy. Today, Sat. I call to follow up hoping they weren't as busy taking chick phone calls and was told I was never on the list and that I would now be put on the list today over 100 people down. She talks to me like I am a child and tells me to calm down when I am explaining how I shouldn't be put at the bottom of the list because I have the Facebook messenger to show the time I was calling yesterday. Cat proceeds to think she hung up on me and as I am on the phone still she is telling her coworker how she doesn't know what the hell my problem was and too bad so sad. Very unprofessional. They don't stand by their store policies. I request the manager/owner to call me via messenger letting her know the conduct of her employees is out of line. She calls me and starts screaming at me how we are in a national emergency and she is driving 9 hours to get chicks. I asked her if she wanted to hear my side of what happened with cat and she screams at me no she doesn't care what my side is. Wow I haven't ever! You would think someone as a small business non Corp operation would take more pride in their business and actually treat customers as valued people that put food on their table. I will not be ever buying a thing from this business and definitely letting everyone know how horrible Stacy the owner and Cat her employee treat their valued customers. Love this store! They carry a limited ingredient Taste of the Wild that we like to feed our dogs. Not only is it a limited ingredient diet but it's also limited as to who sells it around us. Like your typical pet store, it's dog friendly. With that being said, my dog had never seen a cat before so I must warn others ... WATCH OUT FOR KUNG-FO KITTY! These cats are cool, they're fine with dogs until your dog starts acting like mine did ("kitty, I must herd you"). Also, the store offers a buy 8 bags get one free card where all you have to do is keep the receipt. We're 2/8 bags in and we definitely plan on seeing this through over the next few months. read more
