DISASTER! EMERGENCY! just before setting off on a cross country bike trip, DH's back tire decided to act up. In great distress, we looked up options on Yelp and found an open shop just a few miles away. Quickly loading up the bike, we drove over. They were able to fit him in right away and get the tire fixed up for a very reasonable price, sending him off on time for a Grand Adventure. Helpful, friendly, well - stocked, inexpensive.. My husband and I recently bought bikes from Beat Cycles and I was blown away by their customer service. When we first wandered in to the shop, we had no idea what we wanted. The owner, Ryan, talked to us about how we intended to use the bikes, where we planned to ride, etc to recommend the perfect bike for us. One of my favorite things about the shop is that they offer a free maintenance in the first year of owning your bike and free minor repairs throughout the year. This review is over due, but necessary so please read it. As a foreword, I am probably the worst customer there is. I am the kind of person that takes a lot of time, attention, I ask a million questions, and go back and forth about how I might spend my money, and the guys at Beat cycles really went above and beyond to help me find a bike that, having ridden it a bit, has changed my love of riding bikes in the best way possible. I had been looking to buy myself a new mountain bike after taking a relative hiatus from the activity. The team at Beat listened to me, answered my questions, updated me on all the new information. And I asked them a lot of questions...and probably wasted way more time than anyone should. But they never wavered in their sincerity in helping me, and never made me feel they weren't taking me serious about buying a bike or feel like i should already know everything about bikes. They were really laid back, not arrogant, and really went the extra mile to make sure I knew what I was looking for, and in the end of all of the saga, they helped me find a bike that was perfect for me and I haven't had this much fun in a really long time. They had a lot of great products and brands to choose from and in the store there is a lot of great gear, accessories and local information to check out as I continued to lament on what bike to buy--the bike that ended up being perfect for what I wanted, actually cost me significantly less than the originally budget I told them I wanted to be within. They also knew a lot about mountain biking/general riding in the area, where to go to get comfortable on the trails, and have been super inviting to come ride with the guys that regular the store without making me feel bad for being "slow"..they know it's all about riding your bike and having fun. Such a friendly little bike shop in Lakewood. I brought my bike for its yearly tune up today, they gave me some great tips on maintenance I can do on it, and even showed me how to put it on my bike rack properly. I've been by here many times, but never stopped until last week. I was enjoying a summer ride on my Kona Fire. I made it to Lakewood Park when my chain snapped in half. The pin was gone. It was time for a replacement anyway. Well I didnt want to wait for one to come in the mail so I took my bike here. The staff was super friendly and super helpful. Gave me the exact chain I needed and a good one at that. I wanted to install it myself so I took everything home and made the attempt. Well I was lacking a tool to connect the chain together. So I figured I'd bite the bullet and bring it back. The guy working the repair station got it on in seconds and to top it off, he didnt charge me because I had already done over half the work. Fantastic service and sales. Very personable people! I purchased a Quick 6 here a few months back. Today I visited to have my bike tuned up. They adjusted the brakes, pumped up the tires, adjusted the handle bars, and tuned the gears to help keep the chain from rubbing. I am a new rider (haven't had a bike since I was in my teens). These guys are more than capable of assisting all levels, though. My fiance has had her bike tuned up and purchased a bike lock from them. I like it much better than the one I purchased elsewhere. I got a cheap bike from Walmart that had a lot of issues (most likely due to self assemblage and no experience) so I took it in to beat and they fixed all of the issues super quick and for a great price. The customer service and general atmosphere of the place was great and you can tell the people who work there genuinely love what they do and are happy to help anyone out. I attained all my bike knowledge from Ryan, Mike and a bit of youtube. This is hands down the best shop in the area and possibly the best in the world. i get everything i need here. The owner helps me with last minute repairs, parts requests and finishes every job quickly and with utmost quality. I've been coming here for about 3 years now and it is my go-to shop. I've purchased nearly my entire inventory of bike goods here, 1 bike and another mountain bike soon. these guys specialize in mtb but can handle anything from your dead grandpa's old ride to a $10k TT bike. they treat everyone equally from a seasoned racer to just someone trying to get a bike to ride around town. Most of the time they will even offer you a beer but if they don't it's only because their busy so just ask - their fridge is always full. read more

A small and cozy shop run by a passionate proprietor. I've been in here shopping a few times, and my husband had a whole bike built there, so I've seen how they treat casual browsers and serious riders. Riders of all kinds will appreciate their relaxed but informed approach to selling. It's a friendly and casual place regardless of how much you ride or how much you want to spend. They seem to get that bikes should be fun. They have two main lines of bikes for riding of all kinds, and I really appreciate their carefully curated stock of accessories. Where do I start? This place is cool. The owner is heavily involved in the community, and it shows. When you walk in, you don't get a snooty elitist, you get real people that will talk beer and bikes with you any day. When I walk by on my way home from yoga, they wave through the window.
