I regularly listen to 95.5 The Fish, which is where I first heard about Century Cycles. It wasn't until we were looking to purchase a bike for our grandson that I contacted the store through an email. I had a couple of questions and sent the email thinking to myself I'd be lucky to hear back from anyone. To my amazement I did, the very same day! Kevin Madzia responded to all my questions and more. He was fabulous! Kevin explained the different categories of bicycles offered at Century Cycles and even took the time to explain - in layman's terms - bike locks so I could understand the choices available. Went the day before and reserved our bikes. The next day the bikes were tuned and ready to go with bike seat pack containing spare tube and tools which, fortunately, we didn't need. Bikes were great. Great equipment, helpful staff. I was visiting northern Ohio on travel and wanted to get a ride in - had no gear, no bike, no idea where to ride. After some googling, found Century Cycles and the Rocky River Cleveland metropark trails. The staff at Century Cycles were dead-on perfect, got me the bike I needed (reasonably priced rental), and had the other gear I needed. Was in and out in 15 minutes, and on the trails 10 minutes later. Beautiful riding area, the bike was solid and comfortable. All in all made for a great Sunday afternoon. read more

I've purchased a few high end bicycles from Eddie's Bike shop and Bike Authority. I was looking for my teenage son who has outgrown his junior bike. I called several bike shops in the Cleveland area. Basically everyone told me it was a waist of time to come there bc nothing is in stock and there are no bikes to sit on or try out. I called Century Cycle and they said to come in, be fitted and see between their tester bikes and sold bikes what would work. We were able to figure out what would work for him and we were able to put an order in. It's supposed to come in at the end of June. I thought we would have to guess or compromise. Beware. If you purchase a Giant bicycle with a lifetime frame warranty from Century Cycles, you are not getting that at all. Instead, you are getting a store with horrible customer service that will tell you that the customer is not right. You will be getting a product that could fail, and when it does they will not replace it even though there is a lifetime warranty. Instead they will act like they are spending their own money and fight you with reasons that have nothing to do with the actual product failing. So, if you use a bike to commute or even worse, actually ride it and not just have it sitting in your garage as a show piece, don't go to Century Cycles. Century Cycles, the home of the fraudulent lifetime warranty. The worst part is they will follow up social media posts about the problem with smug and what they think is clever comments to defuse the situation. read more

I bought a used bike and thought I needed a tune up. I called elsewhere but the turnaround time was over a month. I took it to Century Cycles and was glad I did. I didn't need a tune up- just some minor tweaks. I wasn't swindled into paying for parts and services I didn't need. Plus, the guy who helped me was very polite and professional. My friend's bike needed tuning and small repairs after sitting in her garage about 3 yrs. Last weekend, we hauled her bike to Century Cycles with expectation that we would leave it there few days for repairs. Upon entering the store, Dan gave us his full attention and offered to diagnose the issues right away. He also listened carefully about the discomfort causing my friend back ache when riding. Dan made several adjustments to the seat and the height of the handlebar, replaced the broken mirror, fixed the front brake, cleaned and tuned the gears and chain with an efficiency of a fine tune mechanic. We were very impressed with the efficient, courteous and fast turnaround. To boot, the total cost was far less than we expected. The second observation is that my friend had gifted me a top notch bike saddlebag late last year which I had not used. It was still in original package. They were very courteous in taking the item back and gave me credit for future use. My bike has few issues related to comfort of ride and needs some work. Although I live on the east side, I will have no hesitancy to take it to Century Cycles of Rocky River. And if I get another bike someday, I know where to come. Thank you Dan and Century Cycle. My road bike was stolen this week and I knew exactly where to go. I Just bought my third bike from CC in Rocky River and quite frankly will never go anywhere else. The RR team is top notch, listen to your needs and I never felt pressured to buy something I don't need. I fully trust their advice and knowledge of their trade. Last year we bought our bikes from this shop. This was our first non-Wal-Mart bike purchase. We love the bikes. We probably went into the store about 5 times before we actually purchased. They were very helpful and answered all of our questions and helped guide our choices. We were able to try out many of the models we were looking at before buying. I love that I could purchase from a local business. They carry lots of bicycle accessories. We've purchased some accessories from here and some elsewhere due to price. This is also why I've given then 4 stars rather than 5: understandably the prices are a bit higher than some big box stores and online. They also fix bicycles and do tune ups. When I need a tune-up on the bicycle, you can bet I'm bringing it here. I would totally recommend this shop to anyone who wants to buy a bike. read more

Century Cycle sells many brands of bikes, but the largest on the floor seems to be of Raleigh bicycles. The welcoming and knowledgeable staff would probably be able to hook you up with whatever brand you wanted. Not actually being interested in purchasing a bike (I have one), I was engaged with all the extras the store sells. Baskets, both synthetic materials, bright plastic baskets, and like real baskets lined the walls. If you are a manly man and don't want to ride around town looking like you're on your way to a Sound of Music style picnic, you could get one of the wire baskets. But you shouldn't; everyone definitely needs the Sound of Music type of basket. Besides baskets, Century Cycles also carries other accessories for your bike like bells and handle bar flowers, for realz. read more

Yesterday I had my second great experience with Century Cycles, and I'm overdue to show them some love. About a year ago I had a flat tire and brought my bike to a larger shop that was a bit closer to me in North Olmsted. The woman who "helped" me was rude, disinterested, took my tire in the back and came out 15 seconds later saying "We can't find a problem with it". The tire was still leaking air. Audibly. I looked at the guy standing next to her and he shrugged and walked in the back without saying a word. She just stood there and stared at me. If I could shoot syphilis out of my fingertips, they both would have gotten a faceful. I got online and found Century Cycles. Headed straight over, a super helpful guy took my tire, and within 45 seconds showed me exactly what the problem was. I asked if I need a new tire or a new tire and tube, he gave me a down-sell and told me I only needed a new tube, installed it, and I was on my way, problem solved, in under 15 minutes. So yesterday when I ran over some glass, I headed straight to Century Cycles. Walked in, said "I need a new tire and a new tube", and I had both installed, inflated, and was on my way out the door in just under 6 minutes. No upsells, no "are you sure you don't want to buy this other thing" no rude staff, just a couple of super helpful guys who helped me out, didn't waste my time or theirs, and had me on my way quickly and for a reasonable price. I try to remember names of those who go the extra mile for me, but no need to at Century. Everyone on the staff is super! They offer honest advice and I've never felt the up-sell pressure. We have been to century cycle a couple of times this year. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I brought in a flat tire and asked if I could watch them repair it so I could do it myself in the future. The staff member gave me a lesson and even let me practice fixing a flat myself. Originally, my son and I took his bicycle to Marty's in Avon Lake for a repair. The gears somehow got stripped, almost as if it was cut. I was told by one of the employees that, because it isn't a very good bike in the first place, it isn't worth repairing and there was really nothing they could do. We then took it to Century Cycles in Rocky River, where they were happy to install the $18 part his bike needed. In the opinion of the guy who helped meat CC, it's a perfectly good kid's bike. Previously avid cyclist getting back into the game after a 30 year hiatus. This shop I found after going to 3 other shops where I found horrible attitudes. Amazing incompetent mechanics and really no help. When I found this shop I then have refurbished my 1993 MTB with parts from here, buying new supplies and new Park tools, renting a new road bike and then having some advanced maintenance done to a new carbon bike I bought. This place is great. No snobbery from the employees, prices are reasonable, Mechanic work that I have had done when I didn't know the job has been of excellent quality. I pass 2 other "high end" stores in Lakewood to get here. I pass another one on my way home from work to go to this Century Cycles location. The Century Cycles shop is my favorite. Krista, Matt and Josh have been great for me. Every time I come in there I feel like I belong and I don't want go anywhere else. I am ramping up for a great 2019 year of cycling and fitness as soon as that temp gets north of 40 degrees. This shop will be a large part of that process. read more

Conveniently located in downtown Rocky River, Century Cycles is a rider's dream: an exceptional, down-to-earth provider of both basic tune-up options ($60) or more sophisticated repairs. The staff are pleasant, dedicated, and knowledgeable folks. They'll explain problems using language a regular civilian rider can understand, and they'll make sure one wants to take the plunge on pricier repairs before getting to work on them. It is a truth heartily acknowledged that few things in this world are as satisfying as a breezy summer bike ride...and conversely, few things are as irksome as a bike that falls to shambles at the drop of a hat. This reviewer's bike is a lovable hunk of junk used mostly to commute to downtown, thus it needs semi-annual repairs. Century Cycles is my go-to and should be yours as well. read more

After a 3 decade absence from cycling and a late night online purchase of a bike direct from Diamondback I was happy to discover that I wouldn't have to assemble and set it up myself and that I had the option of having it sent direct to Century Cycle and get the job done right. When I got the FedEx confirmation that the bike had been delivered I called the shop to inquire how long it might take. I spoke with Neal who was pleasant, polite and treated me like an old customer. When I got the call today that the bike was ready (only 2 days after I called them) I raced down and once more dealt with Neal who took lots of time to help me with suggestions on my getting back into cycling. Love love love this store. My sister was looking for a new bike, and after figuring out what she wanted, I recommended she try out a couple of particular bikes in the $1100-$1200 range. Century Cycles set them up on a trainer for her, but she found the fit wasn't right (the geometry of the particular bike, not the frame size). So after explaining what she DID like about that bike, they brought over a $400 bike for her to try. I was floored, since we had pretty much already made it clear we were willing to spend $1200. Still, that bike wasn't quite right either, and with their next attempt, they nailed it, bringing out a bike that neither of us was familiar with but that seemed to be exactly what she was looking for. I quizzed them about its quality, and they had all the right answers (later confirmed by reading reviews). Because I've been in so many bike shops where the staff didn't know much more than I did and tried to push a bike that didn't match what I was looking for, this alone would have earned Century their 5 stars, since good advice is priceless. But on top of all this, the advice was delivered with a friendly and helpful attitude, and they threw in a bunch of extras with the bike! Like any other beginner, she's going to need lots of accessories, advice, and service in the future, and finding a good bike shop is at least as important as finding the right bike. So glad she found Century. Another bonus: not only did she ride it around the parking lot, they offered to let her take it on a long ride through the metroparks if she wanted. This place is terrific. The staff is incredibly helpful. The only ding I give it is the wait time for a bike repair. It took 2 weeks for them to do a tune up in it because they were backlogged. I guess they are short a few maintenance guys. Other than that, great selection of bikes, gear and apparel. Dare I say this place carries more merchandise on hand than Second Sole a few doors down. Highly recommend this place. I took my bike in to have some new tubes and tires put on. I bought my tubes and tires from another bike shop cause I was planning to change the tires myself but got caught in a time crunch. They took my bike in the basement and switched out my tires in less than 45 minutes while I waited (Shop was very busy when I went so to fit me in like they did was awesome). Great people here who are friendly and customer focused. read more
