There were many toys that made noises, rocking horses, a large green dome with holes, and a smaller playground with slides. They are still fundraising to build a playground for children 5-12 years old. Once that playground is built I'm sure it will be even more of a hit for families. That said there are features that the 5-12 year olds will like! Two large slides, an obstacle to climb on, and a glider swing. There are also several walking trails. My son loved this park! It was a breath of fresh air to be out in nature. A perfect place to jog,kayak, fish, hike, have a picnic or just come and take a scroll. Not crowded and everyone social distances themselves. I did however love that it was sunken away from the parking lot and had a bike/scooter trail around the perimeter and a few benches on the pathway along with a shaded gazebo with seating for a lunch break. Overall it's adorable and if my kids were smaller it'd be on regular rotation. I love that it's here for the new mamas & daddies but it likely won't be the best fit for our family to often frequent. The playground and tennis courts are merely separated by a parking lot therefore it is easy to transition between the two. Our four year old has begun taking tennis lessons from her daddy and we usually do not have to wait for an opening in the morning. There are four tennis courts and they are well maintained. Our 2.5 year old does not share the same interest as her sister and her attention span is relatively short. So after participating in a few drills and playing ball girl, she would request to go to the playground. The playground has a rubberized surfacing with several climbing structures, four slides, a swaying boat, and swing set. The playground does not get overly crowded and there are plenty to keep our girls entertained. There is a sheltered section that's great for families to hang out when it gets overly hot. There is one small con though - the only bathroom is a porta potty by the parking lot. Fortunately we have yet to make use of it and I hope it stays that way.

The seasons bring so many beautiful changes to this place, but the Arb is absolutely phenomenal at continuously expanding its attractions. From rotating art/sculptures, hosting gorgeous weddings, to their children's area, live music, dog days, pop up events, art shows and an awesome gift shop. Even the most anti-outdoors person would enjoy coming here. Parking is ample and the park is huge, spanning 1,700 acres! It took me many years realize how fortunate I was to grow up with this sensational outdoor museum within minutes from my home, after visiting many similar gardens, I can confirm the Arb is certainly a must see experience for nature lovers. There is some amazing history about this place as well. J. Sterling Morton created Arbor Day and he was the father of Joy Morton (founded Morton Salt). Joy made moneeyyyyy and decided he was going to buy land and basically collect trees from all over the world. In 1922, The Morton Arboretum was established with 175 acres and it's SO COOL this place still exists and has blown up to 1,700 acres. BTW there is still a cemetery on site honoring the Morton family.

There are no public restrooms but there is a port a pot across the parking lot. You can use the restrooms at the sea lion aquatic park if you're there after 4pm. Across from the park/ aquatic area...you will find a large lake with a walking path. This is the perfect area to go for a long walk. Overall-- kids love this playground and adults love the walking path on a beautiful day!!

There are picnic tables but we usually just bring a blanket and sit in the shaded areas. The only downside to this play area is that there is no regular bathroom. Luckily there are baseball fields close by so there are Porta Pottys at least. During the summer time, the park district hosts fun concerts, it's called the totally Tuesday events. Just watch for all the campers, it can get crowded!!

The Seven Bridges park has a large playground and swings...suitable for many ages. There is a short walking path, basketball court, tennis court, and a covered area with picnic tables. This park is in a neighborhood so there is no parking lot but you can park on the street. This park does not have a bathroom so you can't stay too long. Overall- great place to pack a lunch and play outside on a beautiful day!!

There's a gorgeous row of trees that is stunning for a photo shoot. Bonus - It is free to park and explore here. There are picnic tables out front as well as public bathrooms and vending machines. Spend a few minutes or a few hours here. It's a great place to venture and check out. This was a very quiet and calming experience for me.
