I was wanting to see sunset, I tried for the Hunting Island excursion but due to high winds, they moved it to Beaufort. Thank GOD! I'm so glad they put safety first. It really is something to paddle in the open water and I had the guidance of Walker as my guide. I was bound and determined to be an independent woman that could do this. This man handled my anxiety like a pro- with, grace, humor and some mad skills. I learned about the eco system, the history, how to paddle better, how to pronounce pluff mud and get it all over me and make Walker grin at my mess. Towards the end, he took myself and the other kayaker into these cool marsh creeks and the sun was coming down and it was just gorgeous. Walker makes you feel like you are vacationing and he is teaching you also about how dolphins eat in South Carolina and I think he could get along with anyone, because he talked to anyone that boated by. I heard great things about the other guides but I will def request Walker when I return to this beautiful area. He is the epitome of a true southern gentleman. We thoroughly enjoyed our high tide kayak trip out to the bone yard and into the lagoon yesterday. Mike is not only professional and responsive, he's knowledgeable and easy-going. It didn't feel like we were out on a "tour," it felt like we were just out with like-minded people, enjoying a nice little trip up the lagoon. We had a perfect blend of intensity with some tough, worthy spots, and calm, relaxing floats. The route was a perfect mix and we saw some great wildlife. Very easy to get kayaks and take off. Staff were knowledgable about the area and gave a few good suggestions as to where to go and during what tide. Don't go to the lagoon at low tide. Price is a little steep for the quality of kayak/pfd/paddle. read more

Our family met Mike this morning for a SUP Beaufort tour. We had all used SUPs before, but I was a little nervous and not sure of what to expect with regard to our level of experience. Mike was so helpful! He gave us a few pointers before we started and some helpful tips along the way. I actually called him before making the reservations and he told me what time to sign up for, based on the tides. This was the highlight of our quick trip. We had such a great time! And though not promised, we did see a few dolphins at the very end of our tour....This was a great time! read more

Mike was super friendly and we felt comfortable w him right away. The day was windy, however Mike was a great guide and we got to stop at two sand bars where the hurricane damage was evident, but the views were spectacular. Went on the historic Beaufort tour. Took a while to get going as one of the kayaks had a leak so had to wait for it to be patched. The area was beautiful though and our tour guide knew a lot of interesting information. Wish there was a little more to it, however, because for experienced kayakers it's just a lot of floating around and you really don't travel very far at all. Probably a good trip for beginners. read more

We had a great time kayaking in St Helena & then on a separate occasion on the river in downtown Beaufort. Irene is extremely knowledgeable and is an excellent guide. Not only did she give us thorough guidance on kayaking, Irene taught us about the tides and the many wonders of the local waters. She even taught us how to cast a shrimp net! If you've never kayaked in Beaufort, a guide is essential for your safely & fun. I highly recommend Irene! read more

I'd give this kayak company a 3 1/2 star rating if I could. They deserve 5 stars for being accommodating to our last-minute request to get on the water, but the tour was just out into the harbor area and not very scenic.(We'd hoped to get into some wildlife country nearby). But I'd recommend it just for the fun of getting out on the water in good kayaks. We really enjoyed Tracy's company and knowledge of the area, and felt very secure with her guidance in the harbor. read more
