We rented a house in La Quinta for July and feel so lucky we found Beautiful Day! It's right across from where we were staying, making it the easiest breakfast decision for our group every weekend. The menu has a great variety of options, the food is consistently delicious, and the portions are generous. Bonus: each dish is able to be made vegan and gluten free, if needed. What really stands out, though, is the service. It feels like a true family-run business based on the warm, personal greetings and genuine hospitality we received every time we visited. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd want in the desert - bright, colorful, and effortlessly Palm Springs, complete with an adorable, vibrant bar. We even happened to be there during their one-year anniversary celebration, when they had festive decorations throughout the restaurant and were handing out complimentary brownies, which was such a fun touch. The only thing worth mentioning - and this is completely outside the restaurant's control - is that they aren't able to serve espresso drinks because there's a Starbucks in the shopping center. They have cold brew and plenty of other delicious drinks. I order the chai latte every time because it was that good - I only wish it came in a larger size! If you're craving an espresso-based drink, grab one from Starbucks beforehand, and Beautiful Day is perfectly happy for you to bring it inside. Overall, I can't recommend Beautiful Day enough. Great food, welcoming service, fun atmosphere, and a place we'll absolutely return to every time we're in La Quinta. read more

Came here on a Saturday morning because I saw they had great gluten-free offerings and understood the basics of how to cater to allergies per reviews. The staff were very friendly and very attentive. The style and layout of the central dining area made the atmosphere very easy-going and was easy on the eyes. Our food was phenomenal!! I got the hot honey chicken sandwich with a potato bun, it was a sizable piece of chicken perfectly fried with delicious sauce and crispy lettuce. My husband got the breakfast hash and added sausage. He was a HUGE fan of the coveted 'Mami' sauce. I also got an oj mimosa with our brunch, which hit the spot. We both really enjoyed our meals, and as an added benefit, it's all made with good clean ingredients so you feel good after eating as well. This is definitely our new go to brunch place whenever we're in the area. read more

It was really busy when we came in (Coachella festival friday) but we were lucky enough to get a table at the bar! We are so glad we stayed because the people, the food, the drinks, were ALL amazing! Had The Big Breakfast, Ricotta Toast, Chicken Salad Sandwich, kids pancake/waffles and sides of bacon. Let me just say EVERYTHING was delicious! Eggs were seasoned perfectly, bacon was crispy and soft in all the right places, the jam on the ricotta toast was the perfect amount of sweetness mixed with the ricotta, and honestly everything was sooooo good. After eating here we had a beautiful day! Found this gem on Yelp and had to stop on our last day in town. Heather greeted us and she was accommodating and we were sat right away. The inside had minimalistic designs but in the best way. It was so cute inside! Heather was our server and she was so sweet and friendly! Just the day before, my son said, "Mommy, I'm going to invent gluten free chicken nuggets one day!" On New Year's Eve on a last minute whim to get brunch and we were able to get squeezed in but we had to wait. Totally understandable but hope they are able to handle normal crowds during other times. We also had to wait a bit for the food and not a wise choice for the hungry kids BUT they enjoyed the food. This place came up as 2nd option in town for vegetarian and gluten free to chef Tanya kitchen. I would say beautiful day has more dedicated gluten free AND vegetarian combined dish whereas chef Tanya GF options are more of an afterthought or phasing out. The breakfast burrito in bowl form was to die for! Their fingerling potatoes are amazing in the dish and by itself! Their GF waffles were amazing and so were the pancakes! The tofu scramble was the only let down and too strong flavored for the kids and my Indian wife alike. Mushroom tartine toast was also very good though we omitted on the pickled onions. I sat outside on the cozy nook by the front door. The umbrellas give you privacy from the parking lot. The inside was super cute too, but I was too cold with a/c going. Struggling to think of a better meal I've had in the Coachella valley. The Barbajada is one of those drinks that you look down and all the sudden it's gone and you're like "damn, when did that happen?" Don't sleep on that waffle. The wait time was long, which is not a problem and is expected, but we ordered two sandwiches that took over half an hour to arrive, which seemed excessive. The music was good, the ambiance itself was ok, nothing too special. For the food, the hotcakes were pretty good. They were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with an amazing blueberry jam. However, the breakfast sandwich was very average. It didn't taste like much, the bun was essentially grocery store hamburger buns... very disappointing. The coffee was alright. Saves the time waiting with all your new friends - we heard 45min -1 hr wait while we just waited 5 minutes. We were a party of three and literally had a mixture of different items from the menu: Winners: the Brussels sprouts and cauliflower were so good that we were fighting over the little bits stuck on the plate. Phenomenal spot and a clear breakfast winner! We stopped here Saturday morning before getting on the road. We were greeted by two employees with big smiling faces. Our waitress, Heather, was phenomenal. She provided excellent suggestions we all loved and the food came out perfectly. We did not have one thing our table that we did not lot (even the hot sauce)! Waited over an HOUR and still didn't get food. They had a super large party, but the update status of the food was ridiculous. We didn't mind waiting, but after already waiting 25 min after our order was placed, they told us it'd take 10min. Then after another 15min, they said it'd take another 15min, then after that 15, they said maybe another 10! I get that they had several orders ahead because of the large party, but having been in hospitality, you need to at least offer something - free drinks while we wait, etc. They had no bread or anything to hold the starving kids over, and didn't offer anything else. It was just "yea it's gonna be another 10min" over and over. If you have customers waiting that long, you need to let your servers know they can offer complimentary small priced items to help pass the time and show appreciation for the wait. read more

The decor is definitely less warm than I remember, the walls bare. They had a large party they were trying to accommodate and seemed like they were scrambling and overwhelmed. The server finally acknowledged us, not welcoming or apologetic, and said he was going to see if there were any tables outside. He came back inside and ignored us, which was confusing. A couple of minutes go by and my friend noticed nearly more than half the tables still didn't have their food, and we figured it'd probably take much longer for us, to be seated and then a longer wait to get our food.
