Food and service was great, however, idk who the genius in charge is who thought paper to go boxes was smart

Happy Hour Menu- exceptional value, huuuuge portions.

As a recent Bay Area transplant, I was missing my cheese. I spotted TGOM offered a Brie appetizer and because my husband was out of town, I opted for bar top seating. Autumn and Rebecca were both wonderful and appeased my feigned embarrassment when my delicious and enormous Brie appetizer. Fantastic service and very much enjoyed my experience.

Undercooked cauliflower appetizer !! It was hard

Well, I've been to this place multiple times and it's been OK but this last time not so great. We came at happy hour and the waitress seemed like she had way too many tables to handle on her own, which was not her fault. It's managements to get her some help. When service kind of slacks and you're sitting there waiting for a water in the hot sun things can take a turn. The food was just OK no lie it's expensive and you feel like for what you pay you should be getting more than what they offer. I'd probably come back to give them another shot. Maybe they just had an off day or maybe it's just changing for the worst who knows I think they can do better and I honestly think they need more service to accommodate the people dining there . The salmon tacos were dry and not appetizing. The zucchini sticks were OK I've had better. And the cauliflower appetizer was way undercooked. It was almost hard. It's got a good location, but I feel like the food is definitely lacking flavor.

Wanted to leave an updated review as I absolutely love the Grill on Main for lunch in downtown La Quinta. The ambiance is relax but pretty, staff are always very nice but the food is exceptional. Always a slam dunk when it comes to a great meal, easy to please a large crowd. The menu here is solid. Almost too many good looking options to choose from. I'm a sucker for their salads here. I haven't had a salad here I didn't like. My usual go to is their chopped BLT salad but today I tried their caprese salad with shrimp and I wish they make it a permanent staple on their menu because it come back often! The shrimp here are gigantic and always cooked to perfection. Their homemade dressings are also very good. My friend tried their poke salad and salmon tacos. The salmon tacos were definitely raved about. I'll have to try them next time. The staff here are always very nice and attentive despite being busy. Our waiter ensured that our waters were always refilled. At one point he was smart to just leave us the entire jug lol. It was clear we were dehydrated. It's little touches like this that make all of the difference. If you are staying in downtown la Quinta I'd definitely recommend this spot for lunch or dinner. Aside from solid salads they also have great appetizers and a well versed and unique menu for everyone. Cocktails here are also good. Indoor and outdoor seating options. A must try spot for sure.

Great service and friendly vibe at the Grill. Enjoyed the Coachella salad with strawberries and blueberries that was delicious. My entree was the maple salmon with quinoa that was superb. A tasty bottle of Aperture Bordeaux blend was the perfect complement. My waiter (Rebecca) was a real pro and made for a memorable evening!

all-natural chicken parmigiana: pounded thin, lightly breaded over linguini pasta with broccolini = $29

Tired of the food scene in Palm Springs, we opted to stay in La Quinta for Indian Wells this year. Change of pace. Change of food. We had dinner here and it was great. To start, we shared the fried calamari ($15.50). The calamari comes lightly battered topped with red pepper flakes with a side of marinara dipping sauce. This was as good as calamari could get. I ordered the chicken parmigiana ($29). The chicken parm - delish. It was lightly battered and not over-cheesed. The marinara was sweet with a subtle hint of tang. Even more perfect was the broccolini. Even though it was just the co-star, it was so, so good. If The Grill on Main is making co-stars bright and shiny, I'm absolutely here for it. The Grill on Main feels like a place locals come to for a nice Friday night dinner.

Fish n chips - 7.5/10. Too much batter on the fish but it was still crunchy and tasty. Huge huge huge portion. Welll worth it. Kids meatballs & pasta - 8/10. My son says it's too much parm but it was still good and the portion sizes was great. Tuna "Tower" - 6/10. Too much sauce and tbh idk what they're thinking in that martini glass. It's difficult to get it out the "glass". It's not a tower- it's a "mar-tuna-i" lol. Otherwise fresh and good. BLT salad - 10/10. My daughter loved it and added chicken. She said the Bleu cheese dressing was closer to ranch and in a good way. Scallop Linguine - 7/10. Perfectly cooked pasta, scallop, and the bacon and asparagus- all delish. The only thing that takes it down a few points was the sauce. Most people would probably love it but I'm not used to such a rich and thick sauce so it wasn't something I would normally eat.

Chopped salad, Grill burger & sangria

Excellent location in old town La Quinta with a lot of other restaurants, coffee and retail spots. We came here for lunch and it wasn't too busy. We were greeted by the hostess and opted for outdoor patio seating which is a nice area with views into the plaza, with the added bonus of misters. Our waiter was great, very friendly and came to check on us at just the right intervals. One thing I appreciated was his suggestions on different salad dressings that didn't have dairy/cheese. Also unique was their option of bacon vinaigrette which of course I had to try on the chopped salad. Very complimentary with the bacon bits. We also ordered the Grill Burger which I would give 5 starts and is one tasty burger along with the fries and loved how many extra pickles they gave. Lastly, I should mention two other things: The portions are very good size and the sangria was just to my liking and was perfect for a warm desert day. I'll have to come back for dinner and definitely for the daily happy hour!

YELP SHORT ANSWER: Yes, an excellent off season choice in Old Town La Quinta. Please read the TIP below. LOCATION: In Old Town La Quinta which can have parking issues during peak season, October to May, but there is a ton of parking so you will find something. You can almost drop at the door if someone does not want to do a short walk. FACILITY: Just seems perfect, nothing fancy and it does have a locals desert vibe. Fun to sit at the bar and they do accommodate larger groups in the main seating area. Very nice outdoor seating so allowing for Happy Hour. MENU: A very nice Happy Hour and the main menu that has something for everyone. Again, nothing fancy just California Cuisine. FOOD PREP: Having visited maybe 20 times a year for several years, have never had a bad or not so good entree delivered to our table. FOOD QUALITY: Excellent, and anyone saying their fish and chips are not the best in CV is not being honest. Fish and Chip with a salad as opposed to fries is a great hybrid meal. Fish and Chips on the happy Hour menu is a smaller portion, one huge or two pieces for fish and it is plenty for one person. Yes... I am obsessed with their Fish and Chips but only order a few times year. LIBATIONS: A professional bar staff and always making great drinks for the locals. It is fun to see a few of the older patrons giving very specific drink instructions to the bartender, then watching the big reveal followed by a smile. More of an off season hobby of mine watching these interactions. WAITSTAFF: the best the best the best... Amanda is the best. OVERALL VALUE: Very fair and not expensive for what it is or where it is... TIP: DO NOT make reservations if you want to enjoy Happy Hour. For some unknown and ill advised reason they do not allow this. As locals and regular customers we made a reservations to ensure we could get a seat during the busy season but when we showed up there were only two guests so pretty much empty. I got seated and asked for a Happy Hour menu and was told NO GO because we made reservations. WTF, then I asked if I could cancel my reservation and reenter and was told NO. I asked for the manager/owner but she was out, so I said I will go someplace else but the hostess returned as I was leaving to say it was now ok. I left a message for the owner doubtful it was delivered.

I was expecting the food to be freshly made, so that was definitely disappointing. The flavors were also pretty underwhelming, and overall the food just didn't have the quality I was hoping for. The portions were decent, and there were a few things that were okay, but unfortunately the food quality made it hard for me to really enjoy the meal. When you're paying to eat out, you expect the food to taste fresh and have a little more care put into it. The service was fine, but nothing really stood out as exceptional. Overall, I wouldn't say I had a horrible experience, but I also wouldn't say it was great. For me, it was just an average experience with the food being the main issue. I'd consider giving Kiki's another chance in the future if the food quality and freshness improve.

The space felt open, elegant, and immediately welcoming. Talk about fine dining at its best. The hostess was able to quickly seat our party of six, and our server immediately brought over the menus and filled our water glasses. THE FOOD: We started with the oysters , and they did not disappoint. They were served with a shallot mignonette which was vinegary in all the right ways. They were so good, that we ended up ordering a second round. For dinner, we all ordered the steak with mushrooms and broccoli. The steak was perfectly cooked, and every bite was bursting with flavor. Even the mushrooms and broccoli stood out. Everything was seasoned beautifully without overpowering the actual flavors of the vegetables. Even the bread was so good. It was served with three different butters. And dessert? Also top notch. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful dinner with friends. THE SERVICE: The service really added to the experience. Our server was attentive and took great care of us. The GM, Ray, also stopped by our table, and we ended up chatting and joking with him a bit. He was incredibly friendly and personable and made sure we were having a great experience. Between the setting, the food, the genuinely attentive service, this as one of those dinners where it all felt elevated. Definitely one of the many highlights of our stay at La Quinta Resort.
