This place went under new ownership/management a couple years back. Dropped in for lunch today and I love how they've expanded the menu. People were friendly and the place was clean. Still small with limited seating but this is a great stop. "The Austin" sandwich was a bbq pastrami and it's Really good! Check it out.

It's a small shop in an industrial part of the city. The inside is pretty tight and if there are more than 5 people inside, it's going to be tight. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich but they were out of sourdough. Our order came out.... They were out of brown bags. They were out of their own name. The order took a bit longer than expected...around 20 minutes. My daughter ordered a tuna melt. I was hoping to have found a gem but I found some coal.

Long overdue review because oh my gosh, the Brown Bag knows sandwiches! My favorite is the Jay's Melt, but I tried the Courtney's Caprese last week and it was also delicious - the crispy bacon was a great touch. Great place to go... the employees are nice, the place is small and quaint. The sandwich I got was good and had a lot of flavor. I was thinking the sandwich's were going to be a little bit bigger. The only thing that got me was the price, I think if it was $1.50-$2.00 cheaper, would be perfect. And then you make it a combo. Perfect price $15. Still a good place to go. read more

Best sandwich shop in the area, by far! I've worked my way through several items on their extensive menu, and my favorites are the Karv and the Italian. No matter what sandwich you choose, I highly recommend getting it on their toasted baguette bread--just ask to substitute the bread option, and you won't regret it. The word is definitely getting out, and wait times can be a little longer than I'd prefer during busy periods. That said, the quality of the food makes it well worth the extra few minutes. Fresh ingredients, great flavors, and consistently delicious sandwiches keep me coming back. Highly recommended! read more

A great, quick alternative to fast food when driving between California and Arizona. Just off the 10, so easy to get to. They are super friendly & the food is fresh and so good! Reccomended by my old co worker Anond, this place was an absolute hit. After walking in, I was quite frankly introduced and more than just pleasnatries were exchanged. Genuine asking of names and if I worked nearby and where I came from. From that introduction came another, which was the menu and they took the time to go over every item or "if we got it we'll make it" which is an awesome attitude you want to have from a sandwhich shop! I went for the Turkey and to be fair Turkey isn't my go to, it's pastrami and as much as I was dying to try it I'm on a strict diet. This Turkey was amazing. I think it all came together with the unique ingredients that they found to work perfectly with their sliced Turkey. I gobbled (if you will excuse the pun) up every last bit and the portion was surprisingly big and fulling. As I write this nearly seven hours after writing this I'm completely full. Prices were reasonable that chips/sandwhich and two cookies were all well under $14. I'll be back! Just wish it was a bit more accessible but here is hoping they expand. I can tell the crew here are very comfortable and have a lot of fun! A win and must try for sandwhich lovers read more

This place was incredible!! The lady who helped ring us up gave us a suggestion on a French dip they made with jalapeños (it was delicious). The spicy Italian was also amazing , and portions sizes were great! The fact that the bread wasn't thicker than the meat, automatically makes this spot a great place to grab a quick bite. read more

Excellent, excellent sandwiches. We had the BLTAC and the West Coast to go. We wanted to eat lunch before heading into the tennis tournament, but they were so large, a half came in with us for a late afternoon snack. Really tasty combos with great bread, avocado, good sauciness, good tomatoes, lettuce, and heaping meats and bacon! We usually eat less meat, but hey, on vacay! I would say these are outstanding sandwiches. Shop itself is totally hidden. We didn't even see its name. Yelp steered us here, and we encourage you to try too--if you like decadent sandwiches! Nice women working there. We called in our order and they needed 25 minutes. Very worth it. And yes, they put the Boars Head wax paper wrapped sandwiches in a brown bag! read more

So it's been a few years since I've eaten here. I brought my coworker with me. We both ordered the pastrami sandwich. I can honestly say this is the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. My coworker told me the pastrami is mind blowing. Not only are the sandwiches amazing, the service awesome. The staff is so nice, they treat everyone like family. This place is pretty hidden so it's easy to miss but it's So worth looking for. The brown bag is a must have for sure!! read more

I went to the cash register and asked the employee if they called the numbers in order. She answered politely that no they didn't. I then mentioned we were sitting outside and asked if I should wait inside for my order so they wouldn't have trouble finding us. We were not in a hurry and were trying to make it easy on the hardworking employees....and bonus that it was cool inside *At that point, a man who I perceived was a manager or maybe even the owner , turned to me from behind the counter, handed me a bag and said " Here Ma'am , GO!" Then turned back around to what he was doing. What? GO? I don't know what his intent was because I'm not a mind reader, but it felt rude and dismissive. His facial expression was as though he was busy and or annoyed. I was so surprised at his response in such an otherwise pleasant environment. I'm pretty tolerant of grumpy people (you know, sometimes there's a reason) but this just felt really icky -it was our intended destination after a hot drive from Phoenix and it did not sit well with us. I especially enjoyed the #14 The House. It's a house-made chicken salad with nuts and cranberries and comes with sprouts, tomato, mayo, salt and pepper on Squaw Bread. The cranberries adds a mild sweetness which balances out the mayo and the nuts adds another layer of crunchy texture and flavor which I loved. If I were to be honest, I wasn't too crazy about their bread. On both sandwiches, it was soft which was good, yet at the same time, just a bit stale. While the sandwiches initially seemed loaded, most of the ingredients are right in the middle of the sandwich where they slice it in half, so while it's very visually appealing, there's basically a ring near the crust of the bread that didn't have much toppings. As far as the Love The Club sandwich. I think they are a bit heavy handed with the salt. The sandwich was too salty. At $33 for two sandwiches, it's also a tad bit pricey. Overall good experience and will be back to try more !

But this was genuinely one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in years, and people deserve to know what they're walking into. This was supposed to be a family outing which included an elderly woman in her 90s. We chose this restaurant because of its glowing reviews, and after this experience, I honestly cannot fathom HOW it maintains such a high rating. Half of our table specifically came here for the "Pollo a la Brasa" - one of the most recognizable dishes at any Peruvian (this is also Columbian) restaurant. After we were seated, and spent time looking over the menu, it was time to order and our server informed us they were all out of the chicken. The problem wasn't just that they ran out... It was how everything was handled afterward. Our server insisted on speaking Spanish, and once it became obvious that not everyone at our table spoke Spanish, his attitude noticeably changed. Instead of helping us navigate the menu after the restaurant had run out of one of its signature dishes, he acted irritated that we needed a few extra minutes to decide on something else. Keep in mind we were dining with a woman in her 90s. We weren't lingering for fun--we were forced to rethink our entire order because the restaurant didn't have one of the main reasons we all came. Yet he came back multiple times looking impatient, irritated, and making us feel rushed for absolutely NO reason. We placed our order. Then another server walked by speaking English. We asked if running out of chicken was normal. His response... "The chicken will be done in about 10-15 minutes." That completely changed everything. So instead of our server telling us to wait 10-15 minutes for fresh chicken, he rushed us into ordering something else. Why?! If someone had simply communicated that information from the beginning, half our table would have gladly waited. Instead, we were pressured into substitute orders... And here's the kicker... After rushing us to order, Our food didn't arrive for another 45 minutes anyway. So, what exactly was the rush?! I ended up settling for the Lomo Saltado. I ordered my steak medium rare. It arrived Well-Done. DRY. Tough. The plate was mostly onions and fries with very little ACTUAL steak... Then came the seasoning--or lack of restraint of. Everything was so salty that it overwhelmed every other flavor on the plate. Not seasoned... SALTY. The kind of salty where after two bites you're reaching for water because that's literally all you can taste. Considering they're charging premium prices, neither the quality nor the portion justified the cost. I'm no newbie to this type of cuisine, I've eaten Peruvian food many times, and my regular spot in Los Angeles serves a Lomo Saltado that's significantly better for less money. As if that wasn't enough, one of the servers spilled water directly onto my phone. No apology. No acknowledgment. She simply looked at me confused and walked away as if nothing had happened. The atmosphere didn't match the prices either. The furniture and decor felt inexpensive while the menu prices suggested a much more polished dining experience. Throughout our meal there was constant traffic in and out of the kitchen that made the restaurant feel chaotic and disorganized. Nothing about the operation matched the premium image they're trying to project. What made it even more disappointing was seeing someone who appeared to be supervising or managing the restaurant - doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to address any of it. No one checked on our table. No one apologized. No one asked how the food was. No one seemed remotely interested in whether customers were actually enjoying their experience. By the end of the meal, my family and I just wanted to leave. The only reason we stayed, and didn't run for the door, was because we were with elderly relatives, and moving everyone again would have been much more stressful than simply enduring the rest of the experience. Between running out of their signature dish, poor communication, being rushed to order for no reason, waiting 45 minutes anyway, inattentive service, water spilled on my belongings - without an apology, overpriced food, an overcooked steak, tiny portions of meat, and food so salty it was barely enjoyable, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. The photos I'm posting speak for themselves. I came because of the reviews. I won't be back because of the experience. Save your money. There are far better Peruvian restaurants that actually earn their reputation. This one didn't earn mine.

I personally love going to the Brown Bag for multiple reasons. 1 is that the food is delicious! Potato salad and italian pasta are homemade. It is also always super CLEAN!
