I want to give a shout-out to two people in particular. One works in the Women's fashion and her name is Cheryl. She was extremely helpful and polite when I was in looking for clothes for my Niece's birthday. It did not appear to be her department - she was working on socks - but she was helpful and kind. She even showed me a few things that she thought a little 5 year old girl would like. She waited until I was satisfied nad did not immediately leave - something I have experience at other Meijer stores and especially at places like Walmart. The second person I wanted to shout-out to was named Tim and he was my check-out person. He was very fast and very friendly even though I was going crazy trying to get everything on the conveyer belt. He was polite and chatted nicely while I put my stuff on the belt. This is by far the best Meijer experience in the Kalamazoo Portage area.

Their prices are cheap, so if you want to try out trends and not spend a ton of money, this is your place. I wouldn't suggest coming here for quality, although I've only had a few things fall apart. Pay attention to the washing instructions and you shouldn't have any problems. However. The staff here leaves something to be desired. There are always several people working, but not one of them says anything to you. The store can be hard to maneuver, especially when they leave racks of new stock blocking them. I'm pretty small, so if I have issues, most people will. I'm not sure anyone who runs the cash registers knows how to smile. I always seem to deal with the same girl, she might be the manager, but she seriously needs to check her attitude at the door, whoever she is. She was having a conversation with a coworker behind the counter once, and, when I stepped up to check out, told me that it would be a minute while they finished their conversation. Stick to the website. At least you won't have to deal with snotty, hungover employees.

This boutique carries Jellycat stuffed animals, Voluspa candles, and adorable kids clothing. It's beautiful in there. But unfortunately I can't recommend this store due to feeling unwelcomed and judged. Not sure if it was because I'm a minority or because I was casually dressed, but every look from the staff seemed to be a quick scan to my hands and pockets to make sure I'm not stealing anything. It was incredibly uncomfortable and offensive. Which is too bad, since my daughter would have loved that store and I would have loved to purchase a few items there. Oh well, I can find those same items elsewhere and save some money and the hassle.
