When I first started coming here, I had decided my natural lashes needed a break from lash extensions, but I still wanted a way to have beautiful lashes with less maintenance. A friend of mine always got her lashes permed and okay, she has beautiful lashes, so I decided to give it a try! After perusing Yelp for places that provided the lash perm services, I found BeautiGodess Lash studio. The reviews were raving about the services, and they were by far, the most affordable compared to the other places that also do lash perms. BeautiGoddess Lash studio is conveniently located in the Kaimuki Shopping Center above Cookie Corner in the back offices. Making an appointment was pretty easy, they use an app via MINDBODY, and you can schedule appointments through there. It also lists her business partners Michael and Stacy, who provide similar and various other services offered at this business. My appointments have always been with Liz, and she's awesome! Love how friendly she is and I love the work she has done on my lashes! My perms last for quite awhile, each time I've come in for a lash service, she says there was still some curl left (this is 2 months after the last appointment). My appointments are also pretty short, They're usually 30 minutes or less. When you walk into the studio, you see some of the various products, jewelry, and makeup available for purchase. There are about 3 rooms for services to be done and they lay you down on a very comfy massage table. Looking through the app right now, I see that they offer lash or brow services, lash service combos, facials using YonKa skincare, waxing services & combos, mind/body wellness, and even makeup & hair services. BeautiGoddess Lash Studio is the best there is! I visited them for the first time when I needed to get a lash lift/tint redone after my first experience in San Francisco. Tucked away in the office spaces of Kaimuki Shopping Center, is this luxurious oasis where you can relax and be pampered. I just went back for my second visit to the studio and was WOWed again by their services. Michael does my lash lift and semi-permanent mascara. He is truly remarkable! He makes you feel so relaxed and does an incredible job of making your lashes look AMAZING! He and Liz work really hard and you can see it in the happiness of their clientele and how beautiful their studio is. Their prices are extremely reasonable, especially for the high class experience you get! For my next visit, I'm definitely going to do a facial or something, as I know they will continue to amaze me! Gasp! I cannot believe that I have not written a review for Liz yet- and I have faithfully been coming here for over 3 years! Math has always been one of my worst subjects, but to round it out, this review is about 40 visits overdue! I am a T shirt, jeans and slippers kinda girl who has no time or patience for make up. What I DO have time for is seeing Liz for an hour and walking out of there feeling like a girly girl ready to bat my eyes at Terry H. My short sparse lashes look long and full after my lash lift and she also puts a conditioner/sealer on it that lasts for 5-6 weeks. Before I got to Hawaii, I had never heard of eyelash perming. Now that I will be leaving in a year, I am terrified. What will I do without Liz? Who will make me look this good on the mainland? Will she fit in my suitcase? I set up an appointment to have my eyelashes permed for the first time, and had no idea what to expect. Just like you're not supposed to use Dr. Google when looking up illness symptoms, you also shouldn't look up eyelash perm risks-some of the google images showing no difference between before and after, badly done lashes that were half curled or way too curled, perming liquid hurting the eyeballs... I was fairly nervous to have chemicals near my eyes, because you only get one set of them and once they stop working, that's that. But us ladies do some crazy things for beauty, so I went to my first appointment and now, I look back on being afraid and laugh. Liz's portfolio shows picture after picture of AMAZING lashes, and now I can add mine to the rest of them! Liz has the most gentle, efficient, and precise hands in this world-my worries disappeared! While I got to lay down in a dentist chair in a lowlit office under a big fluffy blanket with calming music playing, Liz worked some kind of magic on my straight, lightly colored lashes. I asked for my lashes to be permed and tinted, along with an eyebrow wax and lip wax. Liz multitasked and performed the other services while my lashes were being permed, so even though I was in the chair for an hour, the time flew by. She used such finesse when waxing my face, I never want to go anywhere else. My eyebrows have never looked so instagrammable, and my upper lip no longer looks like my husbands. She is incredibly adept with whatever tools she uses- I never got pinched with tweezers, poked with q-tips, squirted with any liquids, etc. It was actually very relaxing, as grooming appointments go. After I had my eyelashes permed, Liz gave me a hand held mirror while I was laying down so I could admire her handiwork. I'm surprised she didn't have to wrestle me to get it back, because I couldn't stop staring at my amazing eyelashes and brows! Even when I don't wear mascara, I get so many compliments on my curly lashes. I want to tell people they're natural, but I tell them where I got them permed and that I wouldn't trust anyone but Liz with these beauties! I love having them done because I can just roll out of bed and throw some clothes on and look like I spent 30 minutes having my makeup done by a pro. I especially love them because of how often I am in the ocean-no waterproof mascara for this chick, just my beautigoddess lashes, looking fresh, even when I look like a wet dog! As if all of that isn't enough, Liz herself is so friendly. Even on my first appointment, she made me feel like an old friend. She pays complete attention to you, makes you comfortable, makes you laugh, and remembers what you talk about, so when you come in for your next appointment, the hour flies by with pleasant conversation...this is not an appointment that I ever dread having to go to. Tami is the BEST--not only is she great at what she does and knows her stuff, but she's also super sweet, friendly, charismatic, and a beautiful woman inside and out! I struggled using my broken and borderline illiterate knowledge of salon terminology, accentuated with a flurry of exemplary hand motions to explain to her the type of curl I'm used to getting, and from my brief, 20 second explanation, Tami figured out exactly which rod to use to achieve the type of curl I wanted. For someone who has been hooked on getting my eyelashes permed for the last two years, I probably should've prepared ahead of time and just brought a picture. For those of you contemplating between a perm and extensions, I am personally a huge fan of the perm--its such a convenient, painless, no-hassle way to fabulous lashes! I wear contacts everyday, have super sensitive eyes and skin around my eyes, but lash perms work sooo well for me and my lifestyle. What happens when you get a lash perm is you lie on a bed, the technician has you close your eyes, they cover the skin around your eyes with protective pads, clean your lashes with a clean mascara wand, carefully apply perm solution to your lashes, then wrap your lashes over a particular type of rod to achieve your desired curl. After all of that, you literally lie there with your eyes closed for 45 minutes to an hour to wait for the perm solution to activate the curl, then the technician carefully removes excess perm solution from your lashes, removes the rods and protective pads from your skin, and sometimes applies clear mascara gel to hold the perm in place. It is ok to apply mascara to your lashes immediately after the perm, but if you really want the curl to last, do NOT wet your lashes for the 24 hours immediately after the perm. The perm lasts as long as your natural lash cycle (lashes grow, fall out, & and are replaced with new ones), which from my own experience, varies from individual to individual. It was my first time at this location and first time getting a lash perm again after a three month hiatus, meaning my thin Asian lashes, though pretty long in length, were naturally pin-straight and incapable of holding a curl to save its life, per usual. That day, I also happened to have been on less than an hour's worth of sleep the night before, super stressed out and exhausted, received bad news literally five minutes before I walked in the door, got there seven minutes late, and figured I'd take the opportunity to snag a kitty nap while waiting for my lashes to perm as I usually do when I get them done. That all changed when I walked in the door. The location is dark with its black painted walls, but lit well enough that its cozy, not creepy, and Tami greeted me with this huge, friendly smile. I ended up voluntarily giving up the nap I promised myself and left an hour later not only LOVING my lashes, but in an unexpectedly great mood after my long conversation turned heart-to-heart with Tami. I normally don't open up to people easily, especially upon meeting a person for the first time, but somehow small talk turned into us gushing about our families, relationships, love lives, and values for the full time I was there. She didn't need to, but gave me a hug before I left. It didn't feel like I went in to get a service done--it literally felt like I was hanging out with a close gf who happened to be helping me perm my lashes! Other than my unique experience with Tami, I encountered two minor differences between this location and the others that I've gone to for lash perms: 1. Including my 20% tip, the service cost me ~$70, which is ~$10 pricier than other Hawaii locations I've been to, but worth the small difference in price. 2. They use one of those adjustable lab lights above your eyes, similar to a small version of the ones in dental offices above the patient chair, probably to ensure meticulous perfection in the perm prep process to achieve the curl you want. I appreciate this attention to detail, but I personally did not like the extreme brightness of the light, even with my eyes closed. This was the only location where I experienced the technician using a light like this--every other place I've been to was lit with natural or fluorescent lighting. I uploaded a picture collage of my lashes before my perm (top picture), several days after my perm without any mascara or makeup (middle picture--aren't my lashes sooo thin?!), and several days after my perm with my favorite mascara combo (bottom picture). Don't they look great with the perm and mascara?! I'm sooo happy with how flirty and lavishly long they look and feel! (And if you're wondering, I do not use "fiber" or "3D" mascara--I use a combination of the "Falsies" mascara in the purple tube & Loreal Telescopic in the silver tube :) read more

Wowzers! Its been ages since I've Yelped but going to Beautigoddess makes me wanna get back into the groove. First off...NEW LOCATION-Still on Waialae Ave. but now in the same shopping center as Longs. Her studio is above American Savings so you can either walk up the middle set of stairs or take the elevator by Fairwood Drive Inn. Parking-While there is lots of it, just be aware of the timing. I went when Sacred Hearts was getting out of school and I saw A LOT of parents park there while waiting. I'm sure it happens all the time but doesn't seem like the shopping center is doing anything to prevent it. The Studio-A wonderful space now with two separate rooms for you to get your lashes etc. done. They are nicely decorated and painted with a dark, relaxing color. The addition of Tyleen is a wonderful one. She is just as great and skilled as Liz. So don't worry if you can't get an appt with Liz because Tyleen is the same level of awesomeness. *In fact, she is the one that introduced Liz to eyelash perms! She is super sweet and easy to talk to. I like that she explained the process as someone else had mentioned. She also took the time to explain how I have a lot of baby lashes growing out (Thank you pregnancy and hormones) so it may not catch on the rod as easy. But I was still completely satisfied with the end result, as usual. Scheduling is so easy online. You can see what is available right away without waiting for a response. I have blond eyelashes that make my eyes look very washed out, but I dislike wearing mascara. After having Elizabeth perm and tint my lashes (took just a little over an hour, in and out the door), I look completely different -- see my before and after photos in the gallery at the top of the page. My lashes are now dark and perfectly curved, so you can really see them. The perming didn't hurt at all, and the tinting stung just a bit at the end, when the excess tint was getting wiped off. Elizabeth has a meticulous, gentle hand and knows exactly how to best do these lash procedures. I am SO glad to have found someone who specializes in this, whom I can trust to safely and effectively deliver the results I want. Liz is A-MA-ZING!!!!!! Went on for lash perm + tinting for the first time yesterday, the place is kind of a hole in the wall-ish, once you get into the room, you'll feel much better with the music and friendly warm greeting. Tho I got a little nervous for the first timer, but Liz would explain into every detail and how you'd like your lashes to turn out just make you feel lot better and I actually fall asleep while waiting with my eyes closed. Thank you Liz for my beautiful gorgeous eyelashes! I made a 10am appointment back in June for my very first eyelash perm. There was plenty of parking when I got there and her studio was easy to find as long as you follow her directions in her email. Her studio is clean, petite size, and cute. Liz is very friendly and easy to talk to. She took a look at my lashes and gave me her suggestion on which rod to use. My eyelashes are long but goes straight down so that it looks like I have a curtain over my eyes. I trusted her advice and let her do her thang! I got my lashes permed by Mike and it turned out amaaaazing! I didn't know how long my lashes really were until it was permed. He was very gentle and it was a relaxing experience. He made sure that the solution didn't run into my eyes and that I was comfortable. He played some music in the background too! I've know Mike for years before he became a lash expert, and didn't really trust him. But after this, I will definitely go to him to get my lashes permed and go back for a facial. My permed lashes made me look more "awake" and didn't need to put on too much makeup. The perm also lasted pretty long. I recommend him highly if you want to do your lashes. I got my lashes permed for the first time on Friday 4/8/16 by Mike. I'd heard of lash perming before, but didn't really believe it'd make that much difference in my appearance. Boy was I wrong...I cannot believe how amazing my lashes look!! I'm hapa and my lashes are kind of short and ordinary. After perming them, they are longer and fuller--something I thought would never happen without the help of lash extensions. I appreciate that she tries to help out when you're in a pinch! I've contacted her via email, and she's always quick to respond. I am now hooked on these lash perms. Liz is good fun to talk with too; super important when you have to keep your eyes closed for an hour. She is really knowledgeable! Each time I go, I've mentioned the results of the previous perm, and how I'd like to maybe change it up (e.g. more/less curl, getting more of the outer lashes, etc.). She's always been very professional in taking those kinds of comments and really does listen to what you want! I told Liz about it my first time with her and she promised me it wouldn't come close to that, and after an hour she kept her promise! It's been 3 and a half weeks since I had my lashes permed and it still looks awesome!! I noticed that my lashes look longer and I love it! Just make sure you use lash serum or conditioner because just look hair perms it fries it a bit. But it's totally worth it. I've had lash extensions done too and I'm never going back. High Quality work at Great Affordable Prices! Liz is very professional, experienced and loves to keep up on the current beauty trends. She has a Nice outgoing personality...always positive. She easily permed my short Japanese lashes...EZ PZ! No Pain, No sting...it was a very easy process to go thru. Perming is safer than putting on eyelash extensions...ask Liz about it. She also shapes/waxes/trims my eyebrows...a very natural look and clean and "crisp". I always get my upper lip and chin area waxed to keep these areas baby soft and "hair free". Liz is also an awesome makeup artist and has done a lot of Brides, Bridal parties, photo shoots for advertisements, etc. etc. She did my makeup on my wedding day and it was the Best! I had a Yonka Paris Le Grande Classic Facial with Esther and it was the most amazing experience. It is extremely relaxing and it was the best hour and a half of pure bliss. There is soothing music playing during the facial and it is so peaceful you could fall asleep. Afterwards my face felt so fresh, soft and hydrated. I also had a lash lift with Liz and I love my lashes now! Before they were very straight and you couldn't see them, but now they're lifted and make my eyes pop! Not having to curl my lashes in the morning makes my routine so much quicker and less of a hassle. I have been going to Liz for almost 3 years now, and she is funny, caring, and VERY GOOD a her job. Sometimes I go just to talk to her. After a lash perm, I don't have to do anything in the morning other than wash my face and put on sunscreen. It's AMAZING. For a lazy, minimal woman like me, this is everything. I tried lash extensions once and although it looked really good, it was more work than I wanted (you have to wash your face a certain way, use a special soap, brush the lashes in the morning, and it looks really weird when the lashes fall out). I thought it was funny that to get an 'effortless' look, I had to put in more work than usual. lol. just go to Liz and Michael. You won't regret it. read more
