had one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had at this store. The manager was incredibly rude, argumentative, and unprofessional from the moment I asked a simple question. Instead of trying to help, she spoke over me, had an attitude, and seemed more interested in arguing than resolving the issue. No customer should be treated with such disrespect. A manager is supposed to set the example, but her behavior was the exact opposite of what I would expect from someone in a leadership position. She made the shopping experience uncomfortable and completely ruined what should have been a quick visit. There are plenty of beauty supply stores that appreciate their customers. I won't be returning, and I would encourage others to spend their money somewhere that values respectful, professional customer service. read more

This beauty supply store used to be really good but they've since gone downhill. Not just in terms of the offerings but in terms of the service as well. I came in recently looking for some hair extensions for an upcoming vacation. The full cap wig selection wasn't as extensive as I wanted it to be. I found what I liked but it wasn't in the color I wanted. I also noticed that the normally friendly and helpful sales associate was hovering around me as I was shopping. One of the reasons I preferred this store is because I haven't previously received that kind of treatment here and it's one of the few places that allows me to shop in peace. Annoyed, I went over to the hair extension section to talk through my options with one of the sales associates, who was determined to sell me a closure that looked like hair plugs. I told her that I wasn't interested in that particular option because it didn't look natural. She says to me "Well, your hair doesn't look natural either because it's too full and there's no part in it". I shared with her that my preference is not to wear my hair parted, then reiterated that the product she is trying to sell me is not going to meet my needs because it looks fake. Instead of apologizing for offending me, she decided to double down and repeat the veiled insult, insisting that I should buy this hideous product...at which point I decided to take my business elsewhere. As I was leaving, the same woman who was lurking around me in the wig section is now blocking me from leaving the store. She's standing in front of the exit (in between the two anti-theft gates), with her back to me, doing nothing. Just standing there. I excuse myself so that I could get by her, and she turns around, feigning surprise, and asks "Are you ok?", while staring directly at my purse. I told her that I'm fine, adding that I noticed how she seems to be much more interested in (what's in) my purse, before walking out. I don't care what other previous patrons have done, if you treat me like a potential thief (and insult me to my face, nonetheless), you never have to worry about my business ever again. read more

I almost put the things I purchased back due to the owner watching me like a hawk. I like to take my time looking for extensions so yes I was there for a bit searching. I then went to look for jewelry which is at the front and he almost fell thinking I was leaving without paying. If you aren't in and out I guess they think you are stealing. I would recommend this store simply off of the helpful customer service!!.. I needed to get my hair for the holidays so I came here! I was at the cash register and needed help and I asked one lady where was the Xpression hair she said back there and pointed. I couldn't find it the store was so large so I went back!... I met Deija she offered to help me and walked away from her register & walk through the huge store to help me find what I was looking for. She helped me choose a Great color, told me where I could find the African shea butter for my Eczema.. she was so very kind , and patient with my indecisiveness and let me know if I needed anything she wasn't too far away. The Owner I presume was helpful as well and greeted my ppl so pleasantly. This location is definitely bigger than the one they used to have when they had them at the end of the stores line up next to the Good Samaritan and dollar general. I loved that this place was very clean, well organized esp the products from the hair dolls heads to the little hair jewelry etc. I'd surely return off customer service and I found some really niiice hair! Please Read!!!!! I purchased a Red Pro hair steamer from Beauty4U. I had the steamer for exactly one week and hair the steamer stopped working. I kindly returned to the store where the manager had the nerve to tell me that this was my problem and he wouldn't give me an exchange or refund. I was so upset, I sat and my car and cried. Then I remembered what my mother taught me. Always put big purchases on your credit card. I called my credit card company and filed a grievance against the store and quoted the information from the Maryland Attorney Generals page and I got my money back through them. I am only posting this because for some reason, some (not all) Asian American stores do not respect our dollars. Please take heed and know your rights because I think that most of us never follow up and file grievances. If you buy from this store, please use a credit card (no cash). If you use cash you will have to go to Prince George's Counties Consumer grievance system and you still might have to still take them to small claims court. I fought them through my credit card company and won and you can too. Don't go through the BBB.org This store doesn't reply to complaints. We need to fight to show that our dollars matter. This will only work on defective items. Please check the Maryland Attorney General's Page....you have the right to return something that is broken. read more

I stood in line for 10 min it was one girl on cash register mind you this is at 5:55 p.m on a Thursday it look like a nice store need more employees and if you going have one person at least have some one who can multi-task and help every customer. This is the first and only beauty supply store to ever offer me a military discount! Good looking out Mr. Park. I popped in here to buy hair for a style at the nearby braiding salon. I consulted w/the stylist and the young lady working there (sorry I didn't remember your name but I appreciate you) for the type of hair and how many packages I'd need for a crocheted Jamaican bounce style. At this point, I didn't want to buy too much or not enough so I asked what the return/exchange policy is. It was explained that I could do an exchange or receive a store credit. Turns out I purchased 1 too many and came back after my styling and had no issues picking something else since cash refunds are non-existent. They have a rewards program but I declined since I don't live on that side of town. The prices seemed a tad bit higher than some other beauty supplies I've frequented but this store is clean, well lit, aisles marked and very spacious to walk through. No one walking in behind me thinking I'm stealing either. They are capable of accepting mobile pay options and the receipt is actually legible w/itemization of your items in case you need to return. Some of the other reviews seemed harsh but its no surprise that there will be mixed reviews. My own shopping experience was a pleasant one. read more

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT ******* I purchased the Red flat iron from Beauty 4U May 16, 2017. The flat iron stopped working a week later. I returned to the store for an exchange. I didn't have a receipt but I offered to present the credit used to make the purchase. Only to be told by Jo Jo, the manager that I needed the receipt in order to get an exchange. I left the store very disturbed because the merchant forced me to keep a defective product and offer nothing to resolve my issue. This is typical of Asian merchants in this area. It's clear to me that they don't honor the products or respect the African-American dollar or our purchase power. read more

Be ware of the lady at the hair counter. I sent my daughter inside to compare prices for hair. Once we decided to make a purchase I met her at the counter to select an 18" and 22" bundles. She opens a pack to allow my daughter to feel the hair. We confirm with the lady with her showing both sizes to confirm what we were purchasing. My daughter sees her go in the cabinet to change one pack of hair... she thought she changed it because she opened a pack. Now we know that she switched the 18" for a 22". She walks the hair to the front counter and the cashier rings it up. Lady from the hair counter repeatedly says that we can return the hair as long as it's unopened. We are feeling very comfortable with our purchase. We didn't realize the cashier had two 22" bundles instead of what we requested. The price seemed a little higher than expected but I didn't catch it until I got home. I returned to the store and the lady at the hair counter says that when she showed us the 18" and 22" to confirm our purchase, she actually asked us if we wanted 2 bundles of 22" which is an absolute lie. We entered the store wanting 18" and 22" never to get 2 bundles of 22". Beware she is a kind little scam artist... repeatedly saying that you can return the hair knowing you will only get store credit and that she just increased the amount of money in store credit you will request and they will get from you! read more
