Hunnybunny is perhaps my favorite Capitol Hill business, for three reasons: 1] I love the products. I exclusively buy body butter and deodorant from Hunnybunny, but I have tried many of their products and haven't disliked anything. Everything is personally made in-house (that's sort of a pun--this business is located within a small rowhouse!), and it is all natural and made with love. I have sensitive skin and I have even used their products on my baby boy, without any fear that it would cause a reaction. 2] The family who owns Hunnybunny are so warm, personable, and real. I have enjoyed talking to every one of them in the past few years since I've been a regular customer, including the kids, who own the business. :) 3] My husband's favorite scent in the world is Hunnybunny's cherry almond body butter, which I put on every night before bed. He always says that it makes him want cherry pie. When I run out, he makes an effort to stop by and get me a replacement, just because HE loves the smell so much. We always visit in person but I am happy to know that online ordering is possible as well, just in case we ever move out of DC! read more

This review is for their products, as I've never been to the store. A friend in DC recommended Hunny Bunny to me last year and it's since become the place I buy body soap. Their soap smells lovely and is so moisturizing, especially the rose clay one -- I was rubbing my skin in amazement at how soft it felt after! I have sensitive skin and eczema, but haven't had any issues with their soap. Their products ship fast and come in cute packaging that brightens your day! You can get the soap wrapped in flower seed paper that can be planted! This brand is so thoughtful and the care they put into their products is apparent. read more

Mother's day was approaching and I was getting a surprise visit from my mother and sister for the weekend. I thought hmm I need a gift and shipping has become very delayed these days. I Yelped first to find a local business that I hoped would be open and natural bath products, which I think are most soothing for the skin. I called and a lovely child answered the phone, "Hunnybunny Boutique. How can I help you?" I thought it was the cutest thing. I read on the website that the store was owned by two young girls. She confirmed they were open and I told her I was on my way. The boutique is really cute. Its in a row home and feels light and airy when you enter. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the dad (I love this family operation). He gave me time to smell the different shea butter creams and natural soaps (yes I had my mask on of course). I ended up putting together a kit for my mom and sister, who are both essential workers at this time and I am sure their hands are dry from the excessive hand washing these days. The dad wrapped my items nicely and I was ready when they arrived. The creams and soaps were such a hit, both my mother and my sister wanted to visit the store to get more items for their coworkers back home. So we went again on Sunday to get more products. I was really thankful this place was open and I could leave a nice welcome package on the beds for my mother and sister when they arrived. I too have been using the cherry almond vanilla shea butter and I will be back for more. Shea butter and natural soaps are a godsend for my dry skin. And I am happy to know I can easily pick them up and support a local family that is teaching entrepreneurship to their girls at such a young age. read more

This place smells like heaven. The fact that 2 littles created this is awesome. The fact that Mom and Dad nurtured their dream is totally awesome. My first products from here were gifts. Then I purchased some things for myself. But they really knocked it out the box when I ordered a gift basket for Christmas. While they have predesigned baskets, they worked with me to add to a predesigned basket to make it the perfect gift. I was beyond satisfied. I will always support this establishment. This black owned business, 2 young ladies with a vision is a must stop whenever I come to town. The creativity, quality, and product line keep me coming back!! I am so excited about Hunnybunny, I wish I could write this whole review in all caps. But, so as to not yell at you through the computer, I have attempted to calm down :) I don't even know these girls and I'm SO proud to support Hunnybunny. Lush getting caught up in an "entanglement" AKA supporting the British police during the BLM movement was the last straw for me. I should have starting purchasing my self care products locally a long time ago. I heard about them through a colleague and immediately went to check them out online, as I'm located in Richmond. First of all, so many items are SOLD OUT, honey! Yes. Second of all, the item I was able to order, the lemon scrub, is the highest quality scrub I have ever purchased. Most scrubs I've gotten, I think to myself, "I could have made this at home". But not this scrub. It smells like ACTUAL lemons. Not lemon essential oils, not a fake lemon. Real lemon. Probably because there are actual lemon particles in the scrub. I can't. My parched skin came back from the dead. The scrub breathed new, moisturized life within my cells. I also have to shout out the packaging which was extremely impressive. They have branded tissue paper and it comes with a hand written note from the little babies who started the brand. This adorable little boutique is tucked away in the middle of a quiet street in Capitol Hill. The store features organic, handmade products that are actually good for you. I enjoyed browsing and shopping there as I felt really comfortable. The staff is friendly and ready to suggest products. I've been trying to get toxins out of my life and this store is just what I was looking for. I got a moisturizer and a bar soap, which are both amazing only after a few days of trying I can tell a positive difference. Honeybunny Boutique is my absolute favorite body butter and handmade soap boutique. It is located on 8th Street in NE Capitol Hill in a quaint town home. Once you enter this beautiful boutique you are greeted not only by a beautiful aroma but the owner of this woman owned business Leah, who is always so kind and welcoming. If you're lucky you are also greeted by her two co-owners her daughters who are simply adorable and helpful. They love when they see my dog Cupcake waiting for me outside. This is the only place I go when I want great body butters and I have also addicted my husband who now comes here for his body butters. I found out about hunny bunny through an IG post from a friend of mine in NY. I checked them out and was happy to know they're located right in DC. We checked them out and they're in a cute house operated by husband/ wife and their girls. I purchased some of their body bar soap and it's been maybe 2 months since then and I ran out so planning to buy some more. I loved their soap- it smelled good and lasted a long time. My only ughh is that I wish their deodorant didn't come packaged in plastic- I feel as if it defeats the purpose but I'm sure they'll find another alternative. When I first walked in, it was love at first sight! Everything about this place is great - Capitol Hill location, the look and feel of the boutique, the aromatherapy smells, and the customer service. I've tried a few things, but the Soaps are my favorite!! They are made right there on site by the owner and her lovely daughters. These products would work very well for sensitive skin types. They are ALL natural products( no additives or fillers), smell delightful but not overly fragrant, lather good, very non- drying and will leave no filmy residue on you or your shower. They rinse sooo clean. And I didn't need to apply lotion right away after using them as they contain natural oils that moisturize without a greasy feel. I decided to stop being lazy and having my goodies shipped and decided to finally go to the actual store and OMG so glad I did. I was immediately greeted by the two most adorable girls ever, the store itself is very cute and organized. There was a product I did not see on the shelf and the "weekend help" as he called himself LOL helped me in finding out when it would be available again. I stumbled upon this gem while leaving my local coffee shop. It looks like a house from the outside but is a full skincare boutique inside. The owner (a female small business owner, yay!) hand-makes TRULY fresh and organic skincare products that are better than ANYTHING I've ever tried!! I love this place so, so much. I've tried the lotion bars, the deep sea mud mask, the cuticle cream, the lip balm, and the body butter. I love them all, but my absolute favorite product is the soap. I've been through so many different brands of soap, but none of them left me with the squeaky clean feeling that I like except the Hunny Bunny soaps. My friends and I stumbled past this Black-owned business a few years ago and are so glad we did! On our first visit, we purchased a few products (body butter, soap bars, and the lotion bar) and have been coming back ever since. So far I have also purchased, the cuticle product and clay mask. I no longer live in DC, but have ordered their product online and my close friend sent me a housewarming gift package from their website too containing the soap bar and hand soap. The environment/atmosphere in Hunnybunny (HB) is so cute and cozy; I don't know if that was or is the vibe the business owners were striving for but it works for HB. It's small and quaint and if you just happen to walk in on a slow and easy-going Saturday afternoon like I did, you just might be tempted to sit and chat with the cute little girls and have tea time before buying or after buying your products. Speaking of which, are neatly and nicely shelved alongside the wall just as you enter. I opted for tea time and spoke with the owner who explained how all the products are made with natural ingredients (I like natural). I don't mind supporting small businesses making their own products rather than buying manufactured products with a hefty price tag on them. Not here, not hunnybunny. This is an adorable boutique soaps place. The owner makes the products toward the back of the store, which is neat to see. Nothing is overly fragrant, which I really like in my soaps, lotions, etc. Each item has its list of ingredients visible. I use the body butter each day and it makes my skin very soft.
