They took down my review. It was a negative review. Very interesting. Anyway, I don't recommend their cosmetologist. She ruined my skin.

WOW! ...what else can I say?!…read more Goodbye wax & hello Sugar!! I'm a devoted Hollywood girl so trust me when I tell you I've never had a better experience or result than my very first sugar waxing! I have sensitive skin and have always lost patches of skin on my inner-thighs to waxing (even when I went for Lycon!) but the sugar treatment is very gentle as well as effective - I am as smooth as silk now with hardly any pain and no red patches of raw skin. So much for the treatment, now to the salon... This place is beautiful, I felt like a goddess the moment I walked in. The service was really pleasant - very welcoming and attentive. Andi looked after my treatment & she's an absolute gem! :) She never rushed, she was very careful and meticulous - not a single hair left behind (lol!)! I couldn't have had a better experience and I can't recommend Sugar & Spice more highly! I'm definitely going to be a regular :) -Jenni xx

I'm really glad I found Sugar and Spice Wax in Ranelagh. Sugaring is an alternative to waxing and…read moreit is much less painful and far less abrasive on the skin. The girls in Sugar and Spice Waxing are so friendly (special mention goes to Jenny!) and they always make you feel completely comfortable. The prices aren't bad either. The only thing I would say is be careful if your skin is in any way sensitive as I noticed a few red spots after the sugaring which I didn't get with other kinds of waxing. But I think my skin was just getting used to it because the second time I went there was nothing. All in all very highly recommended.

She told me that they did not have the proper table yet so I sat behind a desk which was kind of awkward (but not physically uncomfortable). The scrubs that they used were nice, but I could see her reading the label before using them--not sure if she was trying a new brand or was totally new to this. The nail polish already looks streaky and is chipping a bit (it is 5:30 and I got it done at 1:00). Also, it seems like they were just her nail polish that she had laying around--random brands that had all been partly used and all the same section of colours (red, pink, purple). In the coupon it says that "The Himalayan Pedicure is a step above your regular express pedicure and helps prevent nail problems, removes dead cells, and is topped off with a layer of moisturising cream and a brief foot massage." but I'm not sure what they did to prevent nail problems, remove dead cells, and I didn't get moisturizing cream. However, brief is a very apt description of the foot massage. You can feel the awkwardness between the owner (I assume) and her employee/intern, so I did not feel relaxed either. Maybe it will get better with time, I hope it does.

The staff here are great at putting me at ease, and even though I've never had the same girl twice they always chat comfortably and distract from the inevitable shock. I've never had a bad experience despite being here loads of times, and the walk-in system is exactly what you'd expect - busy at peak times like lunch and weekends, really quick and easy if you can get the odd half hour off otherwise. The prices are good and the loyalty card is nice if you're a regular. Hours are very reasonable and often extended around holiday times! To be honest, having hair literally ripped from your skin is never going to be your favorite way to spend a morning and it's always going to be uncomfortable but it's the least painful you can get here. Plus they're very good about using samples of their products on you from time to time to help prevent rash, ingrowns, etc. which is honestly one of the reasons I keep coming back, other places are so unbelievably stingy. Plus, they'll tell you how long it'll be if there's a wait so you can go get a coffee or munchable from any of the nearby shops!

After getting over (or rather getting up to) the high table, I found the treatment room a little uncomfortable. On the first visit, I found the service OK, the lady was very nice and charming. The waxing was not as slick as and more painful than my previous hair removable establishment. But it was cheaper, no wait and quick. It was this that got me back. On my next visit I was told there was a 25 min wait, which was fine. I came back at the agreed time and was left waiting another 15 min. Time I did not have, but I need my eyebrows done, so I persisted with the wait. The brow shape was fine, but my skin was left so red and tender. I treated it with aloe vera when I got home to bring the redness down. Also after three days spots that had appeared on one brow remained. Ugh. I wont be back. After being to Urban Wax and Brazilia, regardless of how more expensive they are, I can now appreciate that you get what you pay for when it comes to waxing in this city.
