So, my insurance company will reimburse 150.00 for a wig, when I called to tell her that, she said Oh, our wigs start from 400.00 and up, you might be able to get a discontinued for 350.00 or so. I think that's ridiculous, they are truly a commercial company, don't use the cancer cause in your advertisement when all your doing is ripping them off. I'll be going to carols wig shop in pawtucket, was told by my oncologist that their prices are way more reasonable. Okay I have to fair to this business. 350.00 and up is the going rate in all local wig shops so I can't give them a one star based on that. Other than pricing I don't know anything about this business, so it's not fair to post a bad posting.

This has been a difficult shopping expedition. Personally I really really liked Cathleen Leite at Alicia's. She was so helpful, knew her wigs and explained their differences so well to us and was polite and inviting. Her shop is also closest to us. We dropped by Tiffany's wig shop which was personally recommended to us by a family member as a great place to go to (but in fairness sake this member didn't wear wigs. Also the person knew the woman who personally owned Tiffany's so it may have been biased.) Tiffany's was crowded with merchandise and the desk jockey was dismissive with my Mother who was very put off by the curt and unwelcoming atmosphere there. She had no problem dismissing the appointment she had made to come back another time when she found the wig of her dreams. STOP. Now understand, neither I nor my Mother have worn wigs outside of fright wigs for Halloween. We barely ever wear makeup. This process is a bit heartbreaking and toilsome as insurance companies are involved with the process. Being informed that a wig is technically a cranial prosthesis is daunting and off-putting to say the least. To have to explore uncharted territory (and chemical smells when one has a migraine,) is anxiety producing. The owner Sandra and her daughter Neishe (spelling?) were laid back. They seemed to put Mom at ease. And the wig that Mom claims makes her look like she's in her 40s (and it does for god's sakes!) is at this shop! There is no reason to go elsewhere. We found her hair nirvana. My brother, who was with us yesterday agreed that this wig was JUST LIKE her old hair! Neishe cut the bangs on the long haired wig so that Mom could still see and yet hide her eyebrows. BUT, and this is my observation, I am not sure if Mom is going to be able to go back to Alicia's Beauty Shop. She (Cathleen,) seemed to know the most about cancer, the wigs and styling. We'll see. A wig is an costly investment to make. $300 and up, a wig can be very expensive and needs to be maintained and certain things can't be done in one (like cooking, driving in a car with the top down, use your imagination...) I am hoping that things work out. For now Mom is very happy with her wig and I am optimistic that Mom will feel better about herself now that she has something that looks like it belongs to her to wear. AND Sandra provided a drying form for Mom to hang her wig on so that it doesn't brush any surfaces when she's not wearing it since it has long hair.

My gel manicure, however, was a different story. To start, she pushed my cuticles back and clipped them while dry, which was uncomfortable. She clipped the skin on my pinky finger to the point where it started dripping blood. I offered to hold pressure but she she apologized and that she's take care of it. She then sprayed it with quick dry spray and put glue on it, then moved on. After filing and painting the rest of my nails the blood had spread into the polish on the finger. She then had to remove it and repaint. As you can see in the picture I left with crusted blood that lasted about four days before fully coming off. At the end, she filed the excess gel from the skin around the nail. When doing this she had now filed my right thumb nail so short that it was very painful and raw at the nailbed. I told her it was very sensitive, she apologized and had me go wash my own hands in the bathroom with an exfoliating gel. I did not receive any lotion or hand massage. I paid $80 for this pedicure/gel manicure and regretfully gave her a 20% tip, feeling awkward and pressured as she watched what tip amount I chose after I swiped my credit card. Although she was nice during the service it did not deserve a 20% tip. I walked out of the salon with my friend and found that my thumbs nail bed was now slightly bleeding. Not much, but it shouldn't at all! My pinky and thumb were so painful! Not to mention risk for infection. I showed my friend that came with me. She agreed that I should call Bernadetta and talk to her about the situation. We thought because Bernadetta seemed nice that she would help rectify the situation somehow. She refused to give me any type of partial refund, but offered a free polish change, which I am not interested in. She also asked me to send pictures of the nails which you see here. I sent them to her on Instagram. The next day my friend went back for her own appt and Bernadetta apparently addressed this issue with her, and then sent me this DM in response. She sent this DM two days later while I was on vacation, (which she knew about). This whole situation made me very uncomfortable and frustrated, and I honestly felt harassed by the message she sent me. Basically a $96 nail nightmare.

I get constant compliments on my unique nail art and I couldn't think of going anywhere else. The manicures cost the same as any other salon, where you just get a boring color and not much else. My dog suffers from seizures And and also suffers from a collapsing trachea which causes her to cough. Both of these conditions are treated with medicine three times a day that have to be filled by a compounding pharmacy. On Tuesday the 15th I reached out to the vet for a refill on my dogs SEIZURE medicine. They called in her prescription to the pharmacy. They usually tell me it will be 24 hours so I waited until the 17th and went in to try and pick it up. Told them I was there for her seizure medicine, they explained to me they didn't have anything ready for her. The woman working the front went to the back and got the owner who proceeded to tell me it was too early to fill, that prescription was filled on the 31st and they can't fill this until the 25th at the earliest... while they are telling me this I'm calling my vet because they are telling me they never received the message from the vet and want a copy of the prescription faxed over. My vet is telling me what they are saying makes 0 sense because her seizure medicine is not a controlled substance and the vet gave the prescription so they should fill. Whatever I leave and the vet said they faxed over the Prescription. The vet and I are both thinking maybe it's some sort of new policy or something. I get home and look at her bottles and they of course, the pharmacy, made a mistake and were looking at her cough medicine and the date they gave us is the date her cough medicine was last filled and that's why they wouldn't fill it. So I call the next morning and speak to THE SAME WOMAN who ADMITTED she made a mistake and was looking at the wrong medicine! They tell me they still haven't received the fax, because their fax machine is having issues... so I once again have to call the vet and they get the prescription filled finally. You can see in my call log the multiple calls to the vet and pharmacy. The missed call also had a voicemail attached where they call to tell me her seizure medicine is ready for pick up! Fast forward to yesterday..... my dogs cough medicine is due for refill.... The owner straight up accuses me trying to get her medicine filled too many times in one month after HIS mistake.... I have all the evidence proving it was his mistake. He clearly should be able to go into his computer system and look and see I picked up her SEIZURE medicine on 08/18 but he just repeatedly kept accusing me of trying to pick up a controlled substance too many times in a month even though it was their mistake and I never tried to fill this medicine other than when it was prescribed. He was even giving me incorrect dates. I understand being cautious but to accuse someone when you made the mistake and to lie to my face and tell me your computer system says I picked up the cough medicine and that you don't have a blonde with glasses that works there is absurd (she's the one who admitted to me she made the mistake the first time). I will never step foot in that place again. I have the best vet ever who would never prescribe me more medicine than what my dog needs either, so I wouldn't even get this script twice in a month. I'm just absolutely disgusted with the way I was treated. You called me a liar and told me I was wrong. I have all the evidence to show he's a terrible business owner and should definitely treat his customers better. There's being cautious and then there's being a disorganized jerk.

I'm paying close attention to how they do my nails and it's nothing different than a regular gel manicure but they put builder gel which isn't necessary for my nail and they cut my cuticle with scissors versus a cuticle cutter. 2.5 hours in and I'm like I don't have time for a pedicure. Why the hell does a gel manicure take 2.5 hours!! Then I go to pay and it's $135 for a freaking manicure!!!! $110 and $25 to remove my gel polish because I did it at another nail salon. My nails are nice but not $135 nice. And on top of it I didn't get a pedicure that I need so badly. It would've been cheaper to drive to Boston to get BOTH a manicure and pedicure.
