I must admit that in the past I have been a bit fickle when it comes to Hair Salons...but Beauty Bar in Downey really is such a good fit for me. My super hot button is cleanliness and this place is immaculate..I also appreciate the fact that they have such a full spectrum of services...I have had my hair colored both low and high lites...extensions......updo's...haircuts...(i love the way they do long layers).....massage(fantastic!)...pedicure and facials, too. The overall feel of the Salon and the Stylists is that it's a hip place..it feels like the stylists are up on the latest styles and tecniques..i often here them mentioning "classes" and seminars they are attending, so it makes you feel you are current. The Beauty Supply is a fun place to shop and they have my favorite shampoos there which makes it convenient. I will definately be back soon for another beauty makeover. read more

Beauty Bar carries many wonderful products and other goodies. The staff is very friendly. It's a bit of a drive for me to get to Downey but its totally worth the drive! The place is clean, organized, and they take great care of you from the moment you walk in. I have extremely unruly hair and my favorite stylist/colorist Arcy works her magic and makes my locks look sleek and smooth. If you want someone who truly cares about her clients and is a perfectionist with each and every hairstyle she completes, then Arcy is HIGHLY recommended.My best advice is to make an appointment and see for yourself. the prices are fair and well worth it! This is by far the nicest salon I've ever frequented. Beautifully decorated, immaculate, very welcoming atmosphere. Always a wealth of magazines to read and treats to eat and drink. Beautiful, CLEAN restroom. Best of all is my stylist, Arcy Hendricks. She's had years of experience and is trained in just about everything anyone could want. Some friends ask why I'd drive "all the way" from Alhambra to Downey, but it's actually only about a 15-minute drive. Arcy styles all kinds of hair and does everything beautifully!
