Lovely new location! The staff was very friendly. I had just been at the 95th Street location and and item that I wanted was on sale but out of stock, so I checked at this location. They had it, but it didn't show it being on sale. The clerk still honored the sales price graciously. I guess my only concern is, why was the same item $15 more from one location to the next? I'm gonna have to keep a close eye on prices to make sure I'm not missing out on a sale. read more

She then proceeded to follow him around the store like he was stealing or something. I was still shopping but my boyfriend insisted we leave because Tiffany made him feel so uncomfortable. TERRIBLE! I made an appointment to get a wax. I Showed up 10 minutes early, as I am a punctual person, and respect others peoples time. I stood in line for at least 15 minutes behind a young man that had already been waiting. Nobody up front, nobody at the register. I stood there growing more angry as I watched a red headed hair dresser playing on her phone with a clear view of us waiting. Obviously she is one of those employees that has that "not my job" mentality. A man finally came out and I told him I had an appointment. (It's now past my appointment time). He said the person I'm getting a wax from stepped out to run an errand. Are you kidding me? I sat down and waiting a few more minutes before I left because I was too angry/shocked at how this business is run. They had my number and name, and I'm assuming they knew why I left and didn't reach out. I called the manager and told him everything and that I couldn't believe that that is how he runs his store. He tried to give me a free service with a different esthetician. I told him I wasn't calling to get anything free. I called to let him know the kind of employees he had working for him are the kind that get him reviews like this. I will never go back to a beauty brands store, especially this one. read more

will not go back to this location ever! I asked for an ash brown bayalage. I have jet black hair. I mentioned this ash brown color multiple times during my appointment. she gets done with the bayalage and puts the "ash brown" color in between what she lightened washes and dries my hair all my grey is still popping out on the top of my head because she didn't touch that part she said let's do a quick 10 minutes color and I said ok with the ash brown she said yes and I'm going to tone it again because the first one didn't take but I won't charge you go through all of it again and still my hair is not ash brown it's jet black and the roots she did the 10 minute color on are different from the rest of the dark in my hair. $263 later and I bought 2 cans of hairspray in that for $44 and I have to go spend all of that again to get my hair right. And she charged for the toner. very upset and disappointed read more

Why not include it in the highlight price? Every single time I've gotten highlights I have had toner and never been charged. So I don't get my hair cut here, but they do offer different hair salon services. When I do tag along, I have gotten shampoos and colognes here. The store is bright, clean and laid out well. Although there are some sparse sections and shelves at times. They're discontinuing selling colognes and perfumes which is a bummer. The prices on their products are very competitive, and they sales all the time. Customer service is okay, but has had some inconsistencies at times. Sometimes it seems you're not noticed, even when there's hardly anyone else in the store. It's been decent more times than not though. Product selection is good, but they haven't carried everything we needed in hair products. I suggest calling prior to going to make sure they have what you're looking for. I went here to get a simple haircut. 1/2 inch trimmed off my ends, some thinning out (because I have thick hair) and to get my bangs trimmed. I had been wanting to get my haircut for a few weeks, but the stylist I usually go to (at a different salon) had been sick. The haircut with my normal stylist would have been significantly cheaper, and I paid for a more advanced stylist for the sole purpose of making sure I was getting a quality haircut if it wasn't going to be by the woman I trust. Kat was my stylist, and I am disappointed to say that my haircut was very unsatisfactory. The picture speaks for itself. This cost me roughly $50, and if it weren't for the coupon they offered to first time customers, it would have been more like $60 read more

I have been going to Beauty Brands for over 10 years. I am regularly seen for highlights. When seen today, I had highlights and a cut. I told the man that cut my hair that they normally leave my ends out so that they don't get over processed. During the fouling process, the man said "I am going to pull some of these all the way threw". Moving forward, I told him that they normally out toner on it as well to make it more white-blonde than yellow. I sat for 35 minutes processing and he never came to check on me once. Then after he finished, my hair was BRIGHT ALL OVER BLONDE. I no longer have any of my natural hair color! He was supposed to retouch my highlights and instead of listening to me - he gave me a platinum blonde head with zero under tones!!!!! And then when I checked out - he charged me $21 for toner. I have received toner EVERY time and no one has every charged you. All said and done - I paid $150 (before tip) for platinum blonde hair which was not what I asked for. The last two beauty brands experiences have no gone well - I am going to start seeing an actual salon with actual talent and customer service!! read more

This is the second time Ive tried this place I can never get any help. The first time they watched me like a hawk as I looked at the nail polish and lingered around me. The second time I went in looking for a face mask and everyone was crowded by the register giggling. I kept pacing back and forth trying to find my mask. I left after I heard them greeting the customer who walked in after me. I don't think I will be trying this place again. I live 10 mins away but I will take my business to the one at the legends or across from the Oak Park Mall where they actually work and are there to help me rather than watch me or gossip around the register. read more

Took my 12 yr old daughter for a haircut and it took almost 2 hours. I have never seen someone cut hair like this, she kept having her lean her head to each side and cutting while her head was to the side, back and forth and then individually twirling the strands of the hair with her fingers. This went on and on and although we asked for a trim and agreed on a couple inches she cut over 6 inches off. My daughter was devastated and cried. Took my son here to get a hair cut and told the girl that I wanted it short on the sides and longer on top. He is 3 so he is not a huge fan of hair cuts, but he just cried. Didn't throw a fit or anything just sat on my lap and cried. I told her people usually use clippers and she said "well I don't want to traumatize him anymore" she also made a comment of "this is great birth control for me" while he was getting his hair cut. She completely butchered his hair. The front was all messed up and the sides were uneven. I was so mad that I paid and left. Took him somewhere else to get a cut yesterday and they did a great job despite him crying. I will never go back to this beauty brands. I still can't believe that someone would say those things to a CUSTOMER and then just let them walk out with a terrible hair cut. read more

I fell into the black hole that is the "mom bun". Seriously, a few days ago someone told me they only recognized me in traffic because of my bun. I decided it was time for a change. Today I woke up on a whim and got online to schedule an appointment. I randomly picked a person. I ended up picking Kat. For an appointment 45 minutes after I rolled out of bed on a Saturday morning. My expectations weren't high. I'm always disappointed when I get my hair trimmed. But this time I wasn't just going for a trim. I was on full throttle. I need change. I went to my appointed, explained to Kat what I wanted. I might add that I wanted to cut 12+ inches of hair. She talked me through the cut before she ever took out scissors and made sure I was sure before we started. The cut took awhile, and halfway through anxiety was taking hold. She calmed me, and kept right on going. The end result is AMAZING. I love the cut, and ended up with a total of 14 inches of hair gone. I didn't cry. I have cried for every cut/trim of my hair for the last 10 years. I'm stoked, I love it, and I would absolutely recommend Kat to anyone looking for a great cut, by a woman with a great personality. I will also say she waxed my eyebrows, they look great too. When we were finished she also gave me a coupon since it was first time there for 20% off, and I had a coupon for 30% off products in the store. I ended up with a haircut, eye brow wax, new hair straightener, travel mini lotion, travel body scrub, make up brushes and a bottle of shampoo, PLUS her tip for $135. Normally I wouldn't spend that in a salon, but for the service I received, and the products I bought, I would be willing to spend that once over 4-5 months. read more

Yesterday, the winter weather forced my regular salon to close. I was in a panic since my Company Christmas Party was at 6:00 p.m. and I really needed my color done before the holidays. I called two different Beauty Brands that were booked all day. Luckily, I called this location and Angel, Master Stylist agreed to work me into his schedule. Angel worked hard to get my hair color correct and unfortunately, on the first try the color didn't take (due to my hair). He was reluctant to get the color right before I left. Second time around it worked beautifully. Then, he cut and styled me hair and got me out of the salon in time for my party.
