Marilyn has been performing hair wizardry on my head for 6 years now. She is a sorcerer. I've never seen her mess up a head in 6 years. She LISTENS to her clients. She doesn't want to "change your mind" or do anything crazy you're not ready for. She will make you look as good as you ever have, every time. So basically, every time you go to see her, you get more attractive. I don't understand the math of how that works, but that's just how it is. Like I said, magic. My daughter and I went there to get our nails done and they did not have a very good selection of gel, nails color and the lady that did our fingernails and I guess she's the only one that does nails there. She did a terrible job as she said that the gel nails were supposed to last 10 days, but they didn't even last seven days because she didn't even do them right And I'm on the eighth day and I don't even have color on my nails anymore. I would not recommend this place. If you want to get your nails done the massaging chair just vibrates. It doesn't massage you not unless you like vibrating as your massage. read more

Jennifer and Priscilla have both cut my hair and done phenomenal jobs, although I have been going to Priscilla more because she just seems to really nail the kind of haircut I want every time. Jennifer is amazing and spends as much time as you could need or want to make sure she gets things right. I get my eyebrows waxed there as well, by Allison (who is a complete hoot and always does a bang-up job). I found the place because it's literally a block from my house, but I will keep going there after I move farther away this Summer. They are EXTREMELY friendly and not snobby at all if I go in there not looking my best. read more

From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and at ease. The salon is neither pretentious nor divey, but it's not your grandmother's salon, either. How many other on-the-upscale side of salons do you see the owner of the business sweeping up hair for his stylists, in between his own appointments? His wife/co-owner is greeting you and making you feel at home at the front desk. Josie Boyd did a wonderful job with my hair, explaining to me what she was doing, and if I wanted to go a different direction in the near future, how to achieve that. The color and cut are great, and the price was right. She has a great special on cut/color or highlights until Valentine's Day for only $80, and I walked out looking great. The hairdressers give their customers their full attention; you never feel like you're an inconvenience (which is amazing that some salons make you feel that way!!!); you're a treasured guest. Marilyn Chaney is the only person to have made my head look sexy. Like, I didn't even think "sexy head" was a possibility, but boy was I wrong. I mean, my haircut is awesome, and I feel good wearing it, but the sheer number of compliments I've been getting has made me seriously doubt the choices I made prior to choosing Marilyn as my stylist. I will never make that mistake again. I have pretty awful social anxiety, and I'll be honest, when I went to Rostik for the first time, I was more than a little nervous, but Marilyn gave me this scalp massage that would have made me forget my mother's name. She slapped a pompadour on my head so beautiful it made my ex give me a thumbs up. And best of all, she listens. When I say, "this time I want something low-maintenance", she gives me exactly what I ask for. She's one of those stylists you can just trust will do the thing your head needs. I've been here twice for massages. The first one I came in with a groupon and the second one I came in after I was able to book it for the same price as I paid for the groupon. It's part of the salon so be ready for it. You have the option of a 60 or 90 minute massage and I've done the 60 min both times. The woman who does the massages is pretty good. I was skeptical because there were no reviews for the massage therapists on yelp and I've had issues in the past with other places. It's easy to call in to get an appointment and they have a good amount of availability. I've come out feeling pretty good after the massages and I've needed a lot of work done. My only complaints are this 1. even though there's soothing music on, you can still hear what's going on in the salon at times. 2. when my neck was being worked on, she was going too hard. It' was not the most relaxing part of the massage by any means! 3. no work done on the head/face at all. Every other massage I've had has at some head/face work to it Other than that, a good place to go! read more

She washed then cut my hair. She asked what I wanted and did a great job. Even, sharp, and neat. She was very precise and thorough. Rostik Salon offers great service with lots of personality and style. Thanks to Lindsay, I always leave feeling and looking fabulous. They have reasonable prices (esp. for OP) but only take tips in cash so bring some extra moo-lah with you! I definitely recommend Rostik if you haven't tried them. I really like the atmosphere of this salon. It feels a little trendy without being over the top, and the stylists all seem very nice. I am taking off a star because my personal experience with the stylist I had wasn't the best. It was okay, my hair looks pretty good, I just think she didn't have a great eye for shape and missed some things that a really great stylist wouldn't have. I would still count it as a four star experience even with that, but my bill was about $20 more than I expected. I assumed I remembered their pricing wrong, but nope. Per their website I should have been charged a little under $110 for the services I received before tax and tip, but my bill was more with no explanation. I shouldn't have to go be an investigator to figure out why I was charged more than the listed prices. The salon itself is great, and I would definitely go back, but will choose a different stylist in the future and ask them to let me know if they're doing anything that will add extra charges onto my total bill. 20 bucks isn't a huge deal, but I shouldn't have to wonder what's being added on to my bill without being consulted. read more

I have gone to Rostik Salon for various services, and I highly recommend it for all your beauty needs. Lendy has done my hair several times and I am always pleased with the outcome. She gives great suggestions and always listens carefully to what I want. Their esthetician, Allie, has gotten me hooked on waxing! She makes it as pain free as possible and is entertaining and friendly in the process. She also recently started spray tanning--how perfect for the summer! I would definitely recommend Kelsey for a pedicure. The salon was nice and clean. However, I have 2 complaints. I made an appointment for my daughter and me at the same time. I was told we would have Kelsey and Stephanie. When we arrived, we only had Kelsey. It took longer, but we still enjoyed the pedicure I thought they should have explained why we only had one person. Also, my daughter had jell polish on her toes which Kelsey removed. When we checked out they told her it would be $10.00 for the removal. We both thought that to be excessive. I've had as much as $5 for removal, but never $10. At a minimum they should have explained this when we sat in the chair, or not charged at all since we only had one person for 2 pedicures. read more

Took my 13 yr old son for help with his teenage acne. Jerah was our aesthetician. I had called in advance and talked about a possible chemical peel or to see what the best option would be. 1st off, we get there and our aesthetician had terrible skin and acne scarring. This is not meant to be an insult, but I should have taken it as a sign. We continued to the room and she said she was going to begin with a consult. She used the same dermatalogica lotion that I use on his skin at home to "exfoliate", as she put it. She then went on to say she would do some blackhead extractions. She used her hands and got absolutely nothing out. I know because she invited me to watch. She then said she was done with extractions when she seriously did NOTHING! What a joke! Then she said she was just going to put on the finishing touches and patted an oily substance on his face. When she said we were done I couldn't believe it. I seriously do a much better job at home. I asked about the chemical peel or microdermabrasion and she said "I don't think that's necessary, you can just come see me once a week for the next few weeks and we should be able to get this cleared up" 1st off, I know my sons skin. He's been doing Proactive religiously for months now, with no results. I have done many facials at home on him, with no results. I came to the spa as a last resort before going to see a dermatologist. This was a huge mistake. It cost me $85 (plus $15 tip because I will never not tip, no matter how terrible the service) for the ridiculous "acne cleansing treatment" she gave him. I'm almost positive she had no idea how to do a chemical peel or microdermabrasion procedure. She had nothing in her room besides lotions in the cabinet and a table and led light. So disappointed, as was my son. It was terrible and I hope no one brings their teenager here for the "help" they provide. Will definitely be taking him to a legitimate spa from now on. read more
