Located in the Burbank hairtown, this cash only joint is fairly unassuming from the outside. Most brow places have you sitting upright at a counter, or hunched over at a kiosk. Here, you're laying down on a comfy reclining table in a private room in the back so no discomfort or gawking. She takes her time to discuss your brows with you, what you want, what your goals are before she works. She's appointment only because of this. She doesn't rush, she doesn't gab or get distracted by coworkers, your face is her priority. With her array of wax, threading, tweezers and etc she works the best gameplan for your brows and gets to work talking to you about what she's doing as she goes. She takes her time to make sure everything is perfect and even. Because I'm patchy and my brows look like trampled golf terrain due to bad waxes from other more expensive places, she recommended using castor oil to help regrow the sparse areas. She sells castor oil but doesn't push it and even recommends buying in bulk online if you want a ton of it. I bought a small 2 dollar bottle from her to try it out. She's warm, friendly, a perfectionist and a delicate hand. Also parking is easy which sells me on 90% of things.

When I lived in the UK I was a successful well known actress who worked in theater and TV on TV for many years. During that time I did countless modeling and photo shoots and worked with top London stylists and leading make-up artists. So I think I know a good stylist when I find one. When I first came to LA in 2004, I went to several in Beverly Hills, etc...they were good, but then I stumbled across Lida and her team, completely by accident. I have never looked back. I've added my recent hair cut photos, please note, I don't color my hair anymore - decided to let the grey grow through, I am 60 now! This was my hair cut by Lida 6 weeks ago, just before my birthday in March. The real Lida talent is that 6 weeks later, I can wash my hair and go - the cut is so exemplary, I don't have to blow dry or use product to make it look great. Needless to say, it always looked crooked and sloppy. I never wanted my eyebrows tattooed because the ones I've seen on people end up looking blue and weird. But I started looking into micro blading after I had my 3rd child and I just felt and looked...bedraggled (see before pic ). I literally researched and obsessed over who to see and if I should even do it. Then along comes my amazing local mom's group who recommend over half a dozen artists in LA for microblading. I tried to do this without considering the cost even though we're on a super tight budget because I wanted to find the best person for the look I was going for and save up. You see, I had my eyeliner done by a makeup artist in Chicago who had "experience" with microblading. Long story short she tattooed below the lash line so the numbing agent didn't take and I felt EVERY STROKE. One side was partially done and the other side barely showed any liner. It took hours and hours and it hurt like crazy. I should mention that I have a dozen regular tattoos and am accustomed to tattoo pain... I finally settled on Christen at Brow Tendre and it was the best thing I ever did. The process was painless and she has the most amazing, gentle touch. I fell asleep twice during the brows and we talked like old friends unless it was time for me to shut my trap and get purdy! She knew my history with skin numbing issues and was patient, gentle and kind throughout the whole thing. I loved my brows so I went back for eyeliner too. I do have one regret though--I SHOULDA GONE TO CHRISTEN YEARS AGO!!! Thank you Christen, I wake up everyday looking fresh and rested--even if I'm not.
