It was difficult trying to explain what I was seeing. I felt like my concerns were not really being acknowledged, and I had to keep advocating for adjustments. The technician did map out the brows before starting, but the imbalance was still noticeable to me. Eventually, she did make changes, but the response I received was "whatever makes you happy," which felt dismissive rather than collaborative. By that point I was already quite frustrated because I felt I had to push hard just to be heard. I believe communication and listening to the client are very important in a service like microblading. I wanted to trust the artist, but I also expected my concerns about balance to be taken seriously.

My hair is fine so my hairstyle didn't exactly match the photo inspirations, but my artist did a style that was in the same realm. For my makeup, I said I wanted to look like myself but elevated, and she hit the nail on the head. On wedding day, they delivered. They worked with our tight and early timeline with a lot of women (10 total) having their hair and makeup done, and I felt beautiful on my wedding day. My only small bit of disappointment was that my hair started to fall by cocktail hour, so my bridesmaids had to spend a little bit of time re-pinning and hairspraying to get it back in place, which took a little bit of time away from enjoying the reception. But overall, I definitely recommend Updos for I Dos for your special events.

Her work space is in front of a large window, so the makeup is done in full natural lighting. She matched my skin perfectly with foundation she'd prepared based on a photo I'd sent just 15 min before. I thought the most impressive part of the natural makeup she gave me was the skin! It looked like my bare skin if it were flawless and glowing! She kept me engaged during the process, asking me for input as she worked to be sure it was to my taste and making comfortable small talk. She is not only a talented artist but also a lovely person to talk to, which I always look for in any stylist to aviod stress and akwardness.
