I got a haircut with Sabrina. I requested more layers to my hair and a bang trim. The results of my hair exceeded my expectations. Yes! She executed what I wanted while also adding light texturization that kept my hair thick with a subtle shape--the kind of hair that you can live in and still love your hair once you go home and strip your hair of the beautiful styling by the hairdresser. REGARDING LENGTH, she kept her word and listened when I said I didn't want to change the length. We agreed that she could cut off the split ends, which was honestly probably less than an inch off. That alone is rare in a hairdresser. THE PROCESS. I showed her a picture of what I loosely wanted and she proceeded to phsyically take parts of my hair and ask detailed questions. She asked if I wanted whispy bangs or regular, explaining the difference to me. Then she asked if I wanted to thin out the ends (not the exact words she used) as opposed to stopping the layers just above the ends. She explained that some people freak out when their ends are texturized because they feel like they've lost a lot of hair. So I opted to end the layers just before the ends. She trimmed my bangs and checked in with me first if the bang length was okay. ALSO, she showed me the back of my hair. Like, I've very rarely gotten that view after a haircut, and it was STUNNING. Just enough layers that blended naturally throughout my hair as a whole. BOTTOM LINE: It was a meticulous, rewarding experience, and it's always a joy chatting with Sabrina. Sabrina also specializes in braiding and coloring, along with haircuts. Final Note: I'd been with Theressa since 2018, and Sabrina was working with her for the past couple of years or so. I have naturally jet black hair so I knew that I wanted to go a tad lighter with a brown color! Theressa consulted me about the color that I could achieve without bleach and after I agreed, we began the process. Everyone at the salon is extremely friendly and they let you choose the Netflix show you want to watch on their TV! They were super gentle with my hair and with my short hair, the process took about 2-3.5 with the color process and the wash and curl. My daughter referred me to Theressa. Theressa is awesome! I feel horrible for not knowing the name of the person that greeted me. I have no clue if she was also a hair stylist or assistant. She was also very hospitable. When I entered, I was offered to have a seat. I was then asked if I wanted a beverage. There aren't too many salons that offer beverages for their clients. Since I came in early, I was able to watch Theressa do her magic with one of her clients. I believe she was doing a retouch, since she was focusing mainly on the roots of said client. I was pleasantly surprised that what she was using on the person's hair was not killing my nostrils. Usually when people have their hair lightened or bleached, there's that unpleasant smell of chemicals. I wish I knew Theressa during the days in which I would have different colored highlights. I had been going to one person for over 20 years. Unfortunately he has moved, and I have no idea as to where he moved to. It was nice not having to explain exactly what I wanted, since I was one of his regular customers. Now that I was referred to Theressa, I liked how she took her time to confirm exactly what I wanted. Afterwards, the other hair stylist or assistant shampooed my hair. It was nice that she took her time in giving me a very relaxing scalp massage, while I was being shampooed. Theressa totally understood, exactly what I wanted. In fact, she even gave me suggestions as to how I should blow dry and style my hair. At my age, I have no clue as to what is or is not in style. I've been going to her for a few years, and even after moving out of the 626 area, I drive back to Theressa because I trust her artistry, attention to detail, care, and communication. She expertly understands the limits of hair and chemicals, and will be clear and honest with setting expectations based on hair condition. I went in not knowing exactly what I wanted, but with remnants of a perm and grown out single hair color from last year. I showed Theressa some ideas of what I wanted, and she guided me to find something my hair could handle -- which in this case was with a bit of bleach (too much would've damaged my hair), and a different color than I had in mind, but I think turned out better than the pictures I brought. Theressa is patient and really listened to me. She took care to analyze how the hair color would compliment my skin tone & how the cut would frame my face, and guided me through the entire process. I'd been on the hunt for the right hairstylist for a while but hadn't found one I felt super confident to commit to go blonde with, until I came across Theressa's work online! I came in the day of my appointment and referenced some of her work, as well as work from other stylists I had come across online, to show her and see if it would be possible to achieve the ashy blonde balayage ombre look with my long, super thick, virgin hair. She quickly assessed my hair, gave me a price quote, provided a time estimate of 10 hours to get everything done in 1 day (with the disclaimer that people with thick hair usually opt to spread it out across 2 days), I agreed, and her and Sabrina got straight to work. To make my thick hair easier to work with, she started with a trim and layers then started the 2x bleaching process. From start to finish, there was hardly a moment they were idle - they wasted no time and something was always happening. They make such a fantastic duo and work so synergistically throughout. Theressa also took the time to talk me through aftercare in detail and answer all my questions while I searched online for products she recommended. In the end, they achieved exactly what I was envisioning in my head and more! I am so happy, thank you!!! I asked for jet black, which apparently is a huge commitment as it'll be a pain to color anytime within the next few years, and Theressa made sure I understood that. My hair turned out great, and Theressa was really communicative to make sure I would be happy with my hair. She taught me how to curl my hair properly because I had been curling it wrong and how to style my new bangs! Also, she was teaching her assistant (who was also great!) throughout doing my hair, and her commentary just revealed how knowledgable about hair styling. So I came in with a pretty grown out balayage and a horrible haircut done by another stylist. I showed Theressa the mess that my hair was and she CAME THROUGH. First and foremost, she is soooooo kind and let's you watch whatever you want on her TV. I was there for nine and a half hours and she was so nice to me the whole time. She made sure that I'd eaten and that I was feeling okay throughout my long bleaching process. She checked in to make sure my scalp wasn't burning and made sure I stayed hydrated. She had a student and an assistant in that day and both of them were equally as nice as Theressa. They also took care of me and made sure that I was okay. She was even teaching her student and her assistant while dealing with multiple clients and I never once felt that I was ignored or forgotten about. She continuously spoke to every client and maintained the absolute best attitude. I felt comfortable the whole appointment and truly have no complaints. Now for the hair, I told her I wanted grey/silver peekaboos with two strands framing my face as well as black on the rest of my hair (not the roots as she advised me. ask her for her opinion when using black.) so that the two colors would contrast. I showed her the inspo picture and she made it HAPPEN. My hair was all different lengths (from the choppy haircut I was given) and extremely damaged from the previous hair stylist I had gone to. When Theressa noticed this, she immediately trimmed a few strands, was careful with my damaged ends and even after we had finished the dyeing process she made sure to cut my hair and even it out as much as she could with the damage the previous stylist had done.
