Jon is amazing at his craft! My hair looks and feels beautiful after I visit. It's perfect every time and it's because he has a good eye for these things. My daughters also love their cuts. The price he charges is $120 but I don't think you will be disappointed if you want a quality styling. Plenty of parking in the back. Also he sells a leave in conditioner that is also heat protectant. I thought that was neat combo and what I've been looking for! A little pricey tho. Hope it works well. read more

Finally found a hair stylist who is skilled, takes his time and does a great job. Jon took his time to hear what I wanted, looked at the picture I had and created exactly what I wanted. He is friendly and pleasant. Ambiance of the salon is really nice and relaxing- also clean. Plenty of Parking in the back. He doesn't squeeze multiple clients at once so that we feel rushed- he takes his time to complete the work to his own high standard. Really grateful for his work. Thank you Jon! read more

Jon has been my go-to hair magician for 15 years, and I regularly travel cross-state to see him! I haven't experienced another hair artist who comes close to his skill in cutting hair. One of Jon's strengths is reading your style, face shape, etc, and giving you the cut that suits you best. When I sit in the chair, I tell him "do your magic, I trust you," and I've never been disappointed. His haircuts look great the day of, but even better in the following days even after washing & styling at home-- the cuts grow well and last long. After six years of searching and trying out different hair stylists, I've finally found the one and only Jon! The studio is close to the 10 freeway and very clean. During Covid opening, temperatures were taken and masks are required. There is also no other customers inside because of social distancing so you feel like a VIP. Jon was very good at giving suggestions based on your hair type, needs and shape. He patiently layered to give me lots of volume and movement - I loved the end result! I've been going to Jon Studio for the several years now. I've never had digital perms before and wanted the curls but didn't have the time to do it every day. I read the great reviews, and decided to give Jon a try. I'm so glad I did! I've had 3 digital perms in the last couple of years and I love it (most recent was last week). Jon does such a great job. My hair grows out but the curls stay. I also appreciate his recommendations and honest opinions. If you're looking to get a digital perm, I recommend getting it at Jon Studio. The process takes about 3 hours but it's so worth it because he makes sure it's done well and lasts. Now, it takes me 3 minutes to fix my hair. I towel dry my hair after I shower, apply hair cream and I'm done! Super convenient when you're a working mom with 2 kids. read more

Oh no! $120 for women cut plus tips. That is not what I expected for. And I found out my back of my hairs are not even . Cash only !another 30 minutes wait even though you have already made an appointment! There is no price list for service in the store. The cost of living in temple city and the technic of the hair stylist is not worth it to pay $140 for just a haircut! read more

Okay so this is the second time I've come back to get a digital perm. As always I'm very happy with the results. My curls stay intact for a good 6-7 months so the money is worth it for me. Jon is very patient and listened to all requests and provides suggestions before cutting my hair. I'm always happy to come back. As far as covid safety, there in no one else in the salon except Jon. Appointments are necessary to keep the salon empty. Jon wore a mask the whole time and there's hand sanitizer if you need it. Thank you Jon! read more

I yelped this place becus I already have a long bob and I wanted to get it trimmed. So I texted Jon and it's not that long. Then I went to his shop and we got to talking how I wanted my hair cut and he cut my hair about an inch off. After we were done and I asked him, how much? He showed the numbers on his phone. $95....i.was shocked. I never ever paid this much just for a hair cut. IT WAS CRAZY EXPENSIVE. If you got that kind of money to spend...go for it. He's nice, he's attentive. But too much for my wallet. And honestly I didn't feel salon beautiful. No one even knew I had a hair cut. read more

The last mile between hair stylist and hair artist is named "JON" I met Jon since 2008 in north cali, as new kid in town, I look for a professional hair stylist to get my hair cut. First sight, I think this can't be serious, I need a hair stylist, not a comedian. Although Jon is funny and easy to get along with, I am not sure if he can get my hair right. Very soon, the concern is no longer exist after consulting with Jon on my hair style. In fact, Jon starts working on your hair style since the conversation start. You will be surprised that how many proposals he prepared for you with all the pros and cons after you share your preferences. I was WOW, this guy knows my hair better than me and my mom. Moreover, not like other GOOD hair stylists, that they just COMPLETED the hair style as you requested, Jon not only finishes the hair style perfectly, but he also gets one more step to trim the hair style to fit you personally and magically. The only thing I will say after seeing his work is AMAZING, you don't really need to take care of the hair style to make it always looks good, it actually maintains itself very well, since the hair style is made specifically for you. Everything looks so nature as if it grows this way. I think that is the part I can only experience from Jon's work. Jon now only works in south cali area, I don't mind to drive to south cali every other months to have Jon for my hair style. Actually I stop worrying about my hair after making this decision. Here is my conclusion There are many hair stylists in the world but in my mind, only one can be called hair artist, and his name is "JON" Try him today, you won't regret!! read more

He is always keep with the latest trend, always learning and improving his techniques, and after 10 years since he first cut my hair, I have seen how much he has grown and how he is still the top stylist in CA. -scheduling is easy. I called and he immediately responded by text. He responds quickly and is very friendly -cut itself was good. You can really tell he's a professional and he has a very easy going nature which makes the appointment very comfortable. Hes will make suggestions on what cuts are flattering to your face shape. I tend to switch hair stylists a lot due to not having found a favorite or their prices getting too high. The stylist I used to go to in Pasadena is charging $120 for a hair trim. I have been going to Jon for my last three haircuts after my girlfriend referred me. I just got back from my third haircut and I'm loving how my hair looks and moves! I asked for blended layers with face framing pieces and he delivered. I have long hair, and the cut, wash, and styling was $95 plus tip. Even after the availability of COVID vaccinations, he is still only taking one client at a time, so you feel like VIP when getting your hair done. Parking is also easy peasy since the building has its own parking lot in the back. Appointments are also easy to make via text, and he tends to have availability within a week. I drive all the way from Downtown LA to get my haircut from Jon and plan to be back in a few months for a regular trim. Who knows, maybe I'll get some balayage done as well. read more

I had an amazing first-time experience here last Friday! Called almost on a whim the Thursday before, got a friendly text response right away. Told him what I was looking for (female, but looking for a gender-neutral/masculine cut, maybe color) and he slotted me in the next day on my day-off. Got a text an hour early to let me know his current client was running a little over. Great communication! The location is very convenient, especially since it has its own parking lot in the back. I walked in and only waited a little for the previous client to be finished. First impression was that the studio is very clean, very classy, well-maintained. Comfortable and also surprisingly empty (one client at a time and only Jon working) but I appreciated that! I'm not a big fan of the hustle-and-bustle, so having the quiet atmosphere made me feel more at ease and listened-to. Jon is very personable and attentive. He was immediately on board with the idea I was going for and he constantly checked in with me to see if I liked what he was planning. Asked me to find example pictures for him, so he had a better idea what I was going for. Made sure I knew how much hair he was gonna be cutting off, how short I was OK with going, whether the style matched what I wanted. The communication was great! And the suggestions were also great! The green highlights were his idea actually--I wouldn't have thought of that at all, but I love it. It really completes the look and I'm glad I listened to his suggestion! Started at 3:45p, finished up (after bleaching for highlights) nearly at 8p. Absolutely worth it and all thanks to Jon's hard work. Thank you so much! Definitely coming back when the green fades out to try something new again. Will be reccing to friends and family for sure! read more

Jon is amazing! Had a blast chatting while he did my hair, and honestly... I was so scared because I have pretty virgin hair - only attempted perming once before at another hairstylist but it didn't look good so they straight permed over it. Jon helped me stay calm and did such an INCREDIBLE job with the soft perm I ended up getting. He took his time and paid attention to every single detail and helped explain how to care for my hair afterwards. I waited a few days to do this review because my past experiences at other places have been off and on - sometimes it looks great immediately after but not so much after sleeping on it and/or washing it at home. Not the case here! It looks just as great as when he washed/blow dried for me. Thank you SOOOO much Jon!! I don't usually like to post pictures of myself, but Jon did such a great job that I felt I needed to give credit. I have what you would call "virgin" hair- never dyed, never permed, etc. I'm deathly afraid of doing anything semi-permanent. Since having children, I felt I have been losing hair and my volume as been dying. I needed a pick me up and have always aspired to have movie star hair. I decided to take the dive with Jon, and I am glad I chose him. I saw all the awesome reviews from other girls with beautiful hair and decided the chances for failure were the lowest with Jon. Jon's Chinese and English are good. He was so welcoming, attentive, and accommodating. He works on only one person at a time and really takes a lot of care to do your hair correctly. I opted for a long bob soft perm? I honestly don't know my differences with perms. I just showed Jon pictures, told him the length I wanted, and told him I did not want to look like a poodle. It came out great! I waited to do this review so I could see the results after my hair had rested, and it turned out awesome. Really happy with the end product. I am very VERY particular about my hair, as I am a (mainly hair) model in non-covid times. I scoured the interweb's reviews about multiple businesses. This was the only one that stood out, both in variety and honest genuine reviews. I went in after texting Jon with the idea to cut it to a medium length like Alice from Twilight. I showed him the photo and we decided together, from his suggestion to cut my hair (that was past my boobs) to a super short pixie cut like Alice (not the medium). It was shocking at first, but I fell in love with it. His advice was amazing! I really was happy he could be honest with if my face type fit the haircut I was going for, and that he pushed me to take a (BIG) chance. Thank you! I had gotten a balayage done by Jon a few months ago and it seemed fine but now that my hair has gotten lighter, it seems more apparent that some kind of mistake was made. There is a pretty obvious chunk of hair that was missed (as you'll see from the pictures included). I really hate submitting a negative review and the only reason there are two stars is because Jon is such a nice guy, but for the time and money spent, it sucks to know that this happened. read more

Jon is the God of all Hair Gods. Came in with my messy still in a bun + super tangled + didn't even brush it before coming hair and came out looking fantabulousss. I wanted dark blue hair & a trim and it came out perfect... everything I imagined it to be! Jon's salon is super easy to find with plenty of parking in the lot in the back. He's super friendly and personable and will give you snacks and tea. I've been looking for a long timeee for someone trustworthy and experienced for my hair and I finally found him. My go to hair stylist for any type of cut! From long hair to short, I've never had a bad experience. He's the type to give you exactly what you want and it looks perfect in every angle! After a year my hair has grown out, and was so so heavy which is the worst when you jogg or gym. I asked to keep the length and add some layers but really do whatever( I'm not picky) and Holy, it looks sooo good and feels so light now. He styled it with some waves and I couldn't help but take selfies when I got home because I knew I couldn't do it how he does after I wash it. Ok I'll start off with GOOD things first He's very easy to book with very fast His places is clean and nice parking lot with many space Just so you know you will be charging an arm and a leg with his service... I would say his hair cut aren't supar but color is more of his "specialist" A basic all over hair color is around $350 plus tips yes tips you have pay the tips what turn me off into not coming back is how desperate he has to mention "don't forget the tips" BRO! Really??? Isn't that optional? He make me waited 45 min extra for my appointment didn't apologize and have the audacity to remind me of the tips lol Trust me if Iam stingy About tips I would wash my own hair at home. Also he doesn't tell you about what he does like what treatment or anything extra that you are being charge for yes he's charming but not charming enough for my wallet I feel like his shop is gearing more toward the Asian that don't speak English, rich and love to chit chat with him . Yelp brought to Jon and while he is a sweet guy, my review is based on my $550 balayage experiece. yup, not a typo. that's before the $90 for basic trim + tip (and I regret the tip! too generous) $745 out the door AND he only wants cash on Venmo AFTER you add him as a friend. For $550 I had high expectations, stressed that I wanted something cool not warm. showed Jon pictures of what I had before and he said don't worry he will take care of me. After it was a done I mentioned to him I liked a specific color on the sample fans and he responded oh next time you let me know! You can always use blue shampoo if your hair is too orange. okay... my hair is done and I can already see the warm tone. I had mentioned that to him and he said don't worry it will get lighter. Fast forward a month later I texted him and said my color is too warm "I don't like it". he responded sure it's time to tone it down. I then asked how much would it cost to tone it down. Jon was going to charge me another "under $200" to tone it. (am I crazy to pay that if I've already paid so much a month ago?) WoW, yes you can argue that the improper consultation was mutual, but for a customer to pay that amount, I would expect the expert to know what they are doing. If you're wondering I've already had balayage, essentially it was a lift and tone. Instead of toning it, it became more orange. I've also never had to tone my hair after a month! My hair is also super dry now and nothing works, orange or purple shampoo. Sorry Jon! Thanks for taking me on a short notice (that also explains why you were readily available as this is not your expertise) but, I'm going back to my colorist in OC. It makes a lot of sense to be on the waitlist for 3 months because that means he is a true expert and he is really good! Plus his price is half of what you charge. $650 gives me 2 balayage sessions and the color is what I want. read more

I LOVE LOVE my hair! It's been a week since I got my digital perm with Jon and it's amazing. He cut off four inches first because my hair was dry and damaged and now it's super healthy, even with the perm. Everyone loves it. They all said it looks super natural. I have been coming to Jon's Studio for a while now, and I really recommend this place for haircuts and hair coloring! Jon is super responsive for scheduling and friendly to talk to. My new go to place! I have not been to a hair salon in a year. I don't really have hair and I am trying to grow it out so every inch counts. I decided to go here since so many yelpers rave about Jon. Once again, I have to thank my fellow yelpers! Jon was available on Sunday, let me repeat, Sunday! I got impulsive and wanted to get my haircut that same weekend. I tried to call but no one answered. A minute later, Jon texted me. I was able to converse with Jon through text which I liked but also tells me the man is super busy. I reached out to him on Saturday and had an appointment for Sunday. The cut: I don't have much hair so the only thing I could do was to cut my bangs. I had an idea of what I wanted but what I lacked in expertise, Jon came to the rescue. I wanted front bangs that I can sweep to the side if it turn out I don't want them. He gave me bangs that sat on my eyelids. He told me that I would have to blow dry my bang and curl them to avoid it poking my eyes. I love that he automatically over layered and overly thinned my hair. Those who have a lot of layers understand the struggle of curling it. I want to grow out my hair so I can perm it and have a mane like Beyoncé. Guess who is really good at perming hair? Jon! I would go back to her without hesitation because of this alone. I booked an appointment for a digital perm with Liya well over a month ago. I have stick straight hair that has zero volume and the videos and pictures I was seeing of Liya's beautiful work was so exciting! My day arrived and I was super excited. Side note, I am currently dealing with some heavy personal things at home, so having this to look forward to was a breath of fresh air. This will come into play in this review in a moment. I arrived for my appointment, Liya looked at my hair and did tell me my hair was very fine and that I had some damage at the ends. I knew these things, so it wasn't a shock. She did a cut to remove those damaged ends and then her assistant took me to wash my hair. During that wash the assistant asked me some questions about my hair because she was seeing some damage that was concerning to her. She finished the wash and took me back to the chair. Liya came back, she spoke with the assistant, and then Liya showed me the parts of my hair that the assistant was concerned about. She was very kind and apologetic, but told me that she would not feel comfortable giving me the perm with the damage they were seeing. It was more apparent now while my hair was wet. She didn't see it as much when she did the dry cut. Of course I was disappointed, but I was not upset with Liya for making this call. As a matter of fact, I was very appreciative that she was willing to be honest with me and not just take my money. Here's where my personal issues came into play. My level of disappointment combined with stress and sadness I was already feeling caused me to cry. I was trying to hold it in, but I kind of failed. Liya again apologized, I tried to explain that I was okay and I wasn't upset with her or blaming her. I told her I was grateful for her honesty. This is why I write this review. I hope that Liya reads it or at least gets the message. While I am very sad to have not been able to experience her beautiful work on my own hair, I am so thankful that she is a person of respect, integrity, and honesty. She did not charge me for the cut and the wash either. If you are looking to visit Liya at TT Salon, I highly recommend her! She is not just out there taking people's money because of a popular trend. I am hopeful that one day I can go back and get that perm, Liya! However, Jon is always attentive and shows lots of patience while cutting my hair. Don't hesitate to communicate your thoughts or concerns with him, he listens carefully and asks for your opinions throughout the process. I did my hair cut and digital perm in Jon's studio, the price is $65 for women hair(45 for men) $240 for digital perm. Jon is very patient and talkative, Make the experience very peasant . And most importantly, he is a guy really good at his job !! He will give you style advises that fits you and the results come out exactly what he described , I've tried many salons in the area and this is so far the best I've found . Highly reccomend Johnny for haircuts, i know this sounds insane but he was my FAVORITE hair cut…read morestylist growing up. He cut hair for my family & i always loved him. Lets be real nothing makes you feel more confident than a good haircut (especially as a teenager). I was always curious and wondered where he went through out the years. Luckily, i ran into him while i was having lunch next door!!! How serendipitous. What to know: He's very thorough and gentle with your hair, and has great technique. He uses his comb and scissors the whole time, goinf through each strand and section multiple times! He's focused on the health of your hair too (big positive for me) and also just a kind and happy person. My hair has always felt really good, silky, and has good movement after his cuts! Also, his haircuts dont cost $250 lol so thats a huge plus.
