Tldr: Don't get your hair done by TONY. I got my digital perm done about a week ago have been debating whether or not to write a review. However, this whole appointment and the end result was too unpleasant for me to ignore. Tony was the one who did my perm and Tony was unprofessional. Please avoid having Tony do your hair. To start, Tony showed up to the appointment 15 minutes late (and his coworker was telling him his 11 o'clock was there) and then seemed very disinterested in trying to get the service started. Then, after briefly glancing at my reference photo and finding his own- Tony told me that my hair needed to go shorter and proceeded to give the most careless haircut ever. Total hack job. During the perm, Tony rolled each hair extremely tight that he even had to pause to massage his hands. The overly tight rolls bruised my scalp and Tony was so careless with placing the spacers between the rollers and scalp that I actually was tearing up because the pain was so unbearable. And even though I mentioned that it hurt Tony lowkey just ignored it?? To top it off- Tony ran out of rollers HALFWAY throughout the process so I had to wait with the crazy tight rollers for around 30 minutes (I am not exaggerating). And Tony's not the one that informed me about it- Tony's nice coworkers were the ones that continued to check in and keep me updated. Also, the whole salon had 3 digital perms going on (including mine) and they kept grabbing the rollers coming off from another client and directly using it on my hair. I don't know if that's normal but I thought every tool was supposed to be disinfected prior to using it on another client. If the digital perm turned out the way I wanted- I would not be so upset but the curls were MUCH MUCH tighter than I asked for. But mostly the experience sucked. And it sucks because I had come here previously for a regular perm and had such a great experience that I trusted the salon for another appointment. I will not be visiting this salon again. (And clearly I am very upset towards TONY for screwing up my hair and being a total incompetent asshole throughout the whole appointment. Also, maybe you wouldn't lose YOUR VAPE IN THE FUCKING BIN OF DIGITAL HAIR ROLLERS if you weren't too busy vaping while doing your client's hair.) read more

A few weeks ago, I found TT Salon and Cindy on TikTok and Instagram, and was really impressed by the results she posted. Unfortunately, my experience was incredibly disappointing. I booked a digital perm and showed her multiple reference photos, including examples of Cindy's own previous work. Before we even started, she took out her phone and immediately began recording me and the reference photos, which made me feel uncomfortable and not fully listened to. She told me that to achieve the look I wanted, I needed more layers, so I agreed. I also specifically emphasized that I did NOT want a wavy perm, I wanted large, blowout-style curls just like the photos I showed her of her previous work and more. Instead, I left with tight waves that looked nothing like what I had requested. I was honestly so shocked and upset that I barely knew what to say. My hair looked damaged, and I knew I'd be stuck with the results for many months. When I expressed that this wasn't what I had asked for, she dismissively told me the reason it didn't look like the photos was because I needed more layers, even though she had already cut layers before starting the perm. She then cut even more layers afterward, leaving my hair thinned out, uneven, and very top-heavy. She then asked if I wanted her to redo the perm, but the way she responded felt abrupt and dismissive... after spending four hours in the chair, I wasn't comfortable putting my already damaged hair through another chemical process. She still recorded before and after videos when the results were clearly different from what I had requested. Overall throughout the whole service, there was very little communication, so I had no idea what the plan was and what was going on with my hair. I felt completely left out of the conversations. Cindy called after I left and offered to have me come back so she could restyle my hair, but by that point, styling wasn't the issue, the perm itself was not what I had asked for. A few days later, after hoping the curls would loosen, I contacted her on Instagram as unfortunately, it didn't improve. She didn't apologize at all and instead only referred me to the salon manager. The manager was kind, responsive, and acknowledged that he understood my frustration and agreed that the results were not what I had requested. But after several conversations, he offered either a redo or a 50% refund. I appreciated the effort, but I paid nearly $400 for a service that did not match what I requested... and now I have to spend more money at another salon in the future to try to correct it. I also wasn't comfortable accepting another chemical service so soon after my hair had already been damaged. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional from start to finish. I came in excited after seeing Cindy's work online, but I left completely disappointed with results that did not resemble my reference photos, and am still dealing with the results. My hair is still damaged, frizzy, half straight have tight waves, just a mess. Based on my experience, I would absolutely not recommend this salon. read more

I walked in on a Tuesday afternoon looking to get a keratin treatment and haircut, which usually takes about 3 hours. They were able to do all this and I am happy with the results. I'm mortified to go back to work looking like this. I showed Tina a photo of the type of haircut I wanted and heavily emphasized that I wanted the edges to be spiky/undercut. She pointed to halfway on my neck for length and I agreed. I had to keep asking her to fringe the edges moren but they still look blunt. End result? Nothing that even resembles the photo. I have what looks like a bowl cut and the length is all the way up to my neckline. No wonder she didn't offer me a mirror to see the back. Maybe if she had paid attention to what she was doing instead of having a lively conversation with the lady next to me and treating me as though I were invisible she would have done a better job. For the record, I'm no "Karen." I'm a loyal customer, treat people with absolute respect and kindness and- I overtip. I got a vibe that this place is not interested in the repeat business of someone who is older. Or maybe they're just rude. I'm so depressed and embarrassed with how I look. So many red flags. If you have fine virgin hair, I strongly recommend avoiding a digital perm at this salon. My hair was past my waistline when I arrived. The stylist insisted it was far too long and said a significant cut was necessary. I trusted her professional judgment, expecting a healthy trim, but nearly half my hair was cut off. The haircut itself felt rushed and uneven, seemingly done to accommodate the perm rather than with care for overall shape or length. Midway through my appointment, a previous client returned visibly upset, saying her hair did not look permed. While I didn't hear every detail, it immediately raised concerns, concerns that ultimately became my own. Throughout the service, my stylist repeatedly emphasized that my hair was "too fine," that there weren't enough curlers for my hair, and that more hair needed to be cut. If she believed a digital perm would not work on my hair type, she should have been honest from the start and declined the service. The end result: my hair feels fried, is significantly shorter than expected, and shows no real signs of a perm. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this salon. Additional notes: * The smell of cigarettes from the staff smoking heavily fills the salon. Liya was recommended to me by another stylist and I decided to give her a try a few weeks ago and I am glad I did. Booking with Liya was super easy. She's super nice and professional. I've gotten so many compliments on my digital perm. She is now my go to especially since the salon is near my house. Not outrageous prices like in LA . It's fair and reasonable. I booked with Cindy after finding her on TikTok, and I'm so glad I did! I've had straight hair all my life and always dreamed of soft, wavy curls -- and Cindy gave me exactly what I was hoping for. I asked for waves that weren't too curly, and she delivered perfectly. She explained the entire digital perm process, asked thoughtful questions along the way, and made sure I felt comfortable and informed throughout. I don't usually trust anyone to cut my hair -- it's super thick, and in the past, stylists have thinned it out way too much. But Cindy understood that right away and knew exactly how to work with my texture. I wasn't planning on getting a cut, but she suggested one that would enhance the perm, and she was absolutely right -- my hair looks fuller and more voluminous now! Incredible experience at TT Beauty Salon! I secured an appointment to bleach, color, and cut my hair within 2 days of reaching out via Yelp. They were very responsive. Parking is very easy to find. The salon is located in a large plaza with ample free parking. Upon arrival, I was given snacks and water. Tina gave a thorough consultation of my hair given that I have never bleached or colored my hair before. She walked me through several options based on the inspiration photos that I presented her and provided input on what would look best. Ultimately I decided on an ashy brown peek a boo with money pieces. For the cut, I opted for curtain bangs. I went through 2 rounds of bleach, and my hair feels very healthy. All the staff were very efficient, patient, and kind. The only caveat was that the salon continued to accept walk-ins throughout the day so they were very occupied. There had been moments when I was waiting to be attended to, but they still took their time to ensure that I was satisfied with my hair. Overall I LOVE the way my hair turned out! Liya is wonderful at what she does. I found her through yelp. I got the Japanese hair straightening. She took her time flattening my super curly dry frizzy hair. Before coming here, I used to go to Ceci Salon every 1.5 yrs or so in San Diego when I used to live there. After moving back to LA I had a hard time finding a place as good as Ceci Salon. Prior to coming to TT beauty I went to a place in chinatown about 2-3 years ago that was recommended to me but the guy there did a horrible job so I am very glad I found Liyi and TT beauty. It is as good as Ceci Salon in San Diego. This place also has top notch service since they provided water and snacks. This is the second salon that I've been to that did that. I am ecstatic about my hair! After scouring the internet and scrolling through stylists' instas, I finally found a stylist that I felt can do the job. I had an initial consultation with Liya and showed her photos of what I wanted. Liya was transparent about how to keep my hair healthy and how she felt the color that she could achieve would be close to what I asked for but may be slightly off because of how many times I've already bleached my hair. She quoted me the price and which I thought was fair. On the day of the appointment, she was very attentive, asking me questions throughout the day to make sure she understood my wishes. Because it took several hours to do my hair, Liya brought me snacks and coffee so I wouldn't be hungry. She tried to make my experience as comfortable as possible. Once I saw the result, I was in love. She did everything exactly as I had asked and was actually able to achieve the look I wanted. She helped other clients while I was there, but I never felt neglected. The salon is clean, had nice music, and had many stylists on staff, so even though it was busy, all the clients seemed to walk away happy with their hair. I did some research between this salon and another popular one that I found through TikTok, but found that the reviews for TT were a lot more positive and looked really clean. I'm so glad my friend and I chose this place for our first scalp treatment experience! First off, it's by appointment only. We arrived there around 5pm and each of our hair specialist used this high tech equipment to scan your scalp where you can see a zoom in image on the monitor. It looks sooo trippy and gross close up haha. Mind you, I haven't washed my hair in 3 days so it was on the oily side so you could see all the oils close up. I inquired if it was necessary to wash my hair everyday because it took me a long time to train my hair to not be oily after 1-2 days of hair wash day. She assured me it's absolutely okay to wash every 3-4 days, and said my current scalp health is pretty good. There wasn't any dandruff or build-up, just some oils. Then she suggested some Japanese brand products that were suitable for my hair and scalp in case I was interested. After that she walked me to the shampoo station which had a bed for me to lay on. She took her time to lather the shampoo into my hair while massaging my scalp and nape of my neck. It was the most luxurious and relaxing massage ever!! I definitely fell asleep a few times. After the heavenly massage and treatment, she wrapped my hair tightly into a towel and had me walk back to the front to get my hair dry. She asked if I'd like my hair blown straight or wavy curls. I opted for waves since there was no additional cost. The curling tool she used was similar to a Dyson where it wraps your hair around the curling barrel. It didn't feel as hot as my curling iron so I was interested in seeing how long the curls would last. Even when she was blow drying my hair prior to curling, it seem like it was blowing cool hair which I'm sure is better and less damaging for your hair. It was an incredible experience that I'd love to do again maybe once every 1-2 months to destress and relax. They offer a membership where you can get earn a free treatment. I noticed my curls were limp after a 2-3 hrs and was getting straight the next day. I would say this is just for relaxation purposes and not so much for styling if that's what you're hoping for. I went to this place to get a haircut because my friend with a similar hair texture to mine (thick, coarse, wavy) had a great experience there. Everyone was friendly. As soon as I took my ponytail out, the man cutting my hair said "whoa" in a way that made me feel ugly or weird for having my hair texture. I have longer than shoulder length hair and asked for some long face framing layers but he told me he could not do it because my hair was too poofy. I understood it, but I feel as if that was my choice and I could've ended up with nice layers. He barely cut my hair and blew it out in a really unflattering way for my hair texture that aged me a lot. I don't think they have a lot of experience in hair that is not straight or thin and this was really disappointing because I left there feeling very out of place and ugly. read more

This is my 2nd time getting a digital perm with LIYA! She does an amazing job at perming and I trust her with my hair. My hair feels healthy, is low maintenance, and curly and wavy. The first time I got my hair perm was in March 2023 and after 10+months my hair was still curly. The only reason I needed a perm retouch was because my hair grew out! This time I got more layers and used a wider curl mold.
