The facials left my skin feeling wonderful and she was so warm and easy to talk to. I even convinced my partner to go in for a couple facials and he was very happy with the results. She usually works with Danie Patterson for bridal services and they were so much fun to spend the morning of my wedding with! My friends and I had such a great time getting to know them. They are both also incredibly talented. I do not wear a lot of makeup and Dani made sure to keep me looking like myself, just elevated. I also wanted to keep my natural curls - I showed Danie a couple pictures at the trial and talked through up vs down. She went right to work and came up with the most beautiful messy up-do to complement my curls. She also suggested using some dried flowers and arranged them in such a gorgeous way. We were all so happy with our hair and makeup, as well as how lovely they both were to spend time with. I am so glad that I booked them for my wedding! When I moved to Indiana I did major research to find a lash artist that did russian volume. I am always very picky about who I chose to make me look and feel great, from hair, nails and now lashes. I did my research and the only person I felt most comfortable with and trusted was Maria. First off she's passionate about what she's doing and you can tell it makes her feel good when you feel good about her work. Second, her work speaks volumes (pun intended). Lash retention is an important factor and I had to go a bit longer than usual in between fills my first time getting it done with her, and it was GREAT. Third, in order for me to have retained my lashes for this long was also due to her educating me on how to care for them! All this aligns with someone who is going to take care of you and knows what they are doing. I used to get super long lashes and my lash girls never REALLY told me the importance of caring for them and how to do so until Maria. We discussed the best length and curl for my eyes and health of my lashes, in the end I am 10x more satisfied because she took the time to walk me through it and help me understand. Lastly, outside of being a passionate and knowledgable person about lashes, she is also a wonderful, vibrant and ambitious woman! If I am going to have to lay there for 3 hours, I couldn't have a chosen a better person to do it with. PS. I really wanted to love this place, but am sad to not have had a better experience! I went today…read morefor my first bikini, full leg, & underarm wax. There are a few elements to review here. First, the girls working were all kind. My waxer maintained conversation throughout the entire waxing process to help distract from what I'd think would be a pretty painful & uncomfortable process for most people (I have a pretty high pain tolerance). My first negative was the fact that they never took the time to explain to me what in the world was going on and what I needed to do post-wax. Thankfully, I'm a researcher, so I had a good idea of what to expect walking into my appointment, but my waxer didn't explain a single aspect of the wax to me - just went ahead and started, despite clarifying it was my first wax. When I was leaving, they handed me a couple mini aftercare products and said bye. I wasn't bold enough to ask what they were because I felt very much like I was being rushed out, so again, I researched and determined a good course of action. I feel as though if you have someone who is coming for a first wax, you really need to be clear what is going on and especially what the aftercare process should look like, you don't want them to mess anything up! My second biggest complaint is the amount of bruising I have! Unfortunately I can't upload pictures of this because of the location (bikini wax), but it is pretty significant. Also based on research, I think this could be due to the technique used by my waxer that led to this not being the best experience (not making the skin taut, rewaxing the same area, etc.). Had I known these things in advance I would have spoken up, but here we are :( One suggestion I'd make to this place would be to also figure out a way to make the rooms slightly more private. They have the layout of the waxing rooms with the waxing tables/beds facing so that, if laying down, your legs/private area is facing towards the door. I mention this because, if the door opens for any reason, you would be completely exposed to the brows/lashes area of the salon. My waxer stepped out of the room and asked me to remove my underwear and lay on the table, but I wasn't comfortable doing that until she was back in the room with me, knowing that the door would swing open and I'd be exposed to who knows how many people! Probably worth considering switching the tables to another wall to protect the privacy of the clients!! However, one of the perks of this place was that they treated my service dog with so much kindness. They were very welcoming and had no issues whatsoever with her coming into the business. I'm always so thankful for places that are accommodating of ADA like this!!

Overall, I think this group of ladies was very professional, but I am disappointed with my hair and make-up execution. When I reached out to Salon 1|4 to do my trials, I didn't see these two items as being missed, but were unfortunately missed on my wedding day. Malia did my hair and although the curls are beautiful, she didn't part my hair straight. I have naturally dark hair and very pale skin, so my crooked hair part was very noticeable in many of my wedding photos. I did tell Malia too what kind of part I had, but she didn't bother to straighten it. Tara did my make-up, which she is very good at! The big miss on her end is that my eyeliner and/or fake lashes were not even across my eyes. Again, this was very noticeable in many up closed wedding photos of mine. It's really a big bummer and makes me sad looking through my photos. We didn't have mirrors in our getting ready space, which I regret significantly, but regardless, I really wish these ladies did a better job double checking their work before calling me done. I spent over $2000 on hair and make-up for 8 ladies, including myself. I was certainly expecting a more polished finish. I'd recommend looking at another salon or company before considering Salon 1|4 for your wedding.

I made an appointment on-line (all services are by appointment only) and Amanda responded back within 30 minutes to confirm! On the day of my visit Amanda was pleasant and conversational (which was a nice distraction from the waxing!). She was quick and made the process as painless as could be expected for any hair removal. I was in and out in about 7 minutes! I'll be back! Tip: Amanda prefers to have services paid in cash. If a card is all you've got, be prepared for a $1 service charge.

I was extremely nervous because I had never had a Brazilian, but Amanda was able to put me at ease within the few e-mail exchanges we had. When I arrived, I pretty much exclaimed that I was feeling a little awkward about having a stranger in my crotchal region, as I like to call it. Of course...it's her job. She sees all manner of hoo-ha daily. So...I said the hell with it, flung my pants off, and she went to work. Conversation flowed easily, there was laughter, and before I knew it the hair was gone. It wasn't completely painless...but it was my first time after all. It wasn't the most painful thing I've experienced at all. It was over in under half an hour. I was give tips on after care as well. I could not be more pleased with my decision, and I will definitely be returning!
