I went to Beauty Mark on the recommendation of a Stylist as she did not have the items which I needed. The store is easily accessible with parking in the back, I went in and had a lot to take in, the store is amply stocked with a variation of similar items in different price ranges. The young lady who helped me, after I found the item I was looking for and also she also had suggestions. I later wanted to see some brushes and she took time to show me the different lines available. I found a difficult to find hairpiece for my mother's gray hair. Would I go back to Beauty Mark? In a heart beat! The owner was on the premises and was also very helpful. I would give 0 starts if I could. I have been shopping at this salon for over 10 years only because it was convenient. Their staff seems to be very knowledgeable about hair and skin products so one of them assumed the responsibility of picking out a foundation color for me. After testing a few shades, she finally stumbled upon the "right" one. Well, when I took it home and put it all over my face to go out, I looked like a ghost. Would I have known that if I didn't use it? Obviously not! So, imagining an easy transaction, I returned to the store to simply exchange the item for either one of correct shade to my face, or get another item, since I always shop there anyway. The "manager" came out and straight up laid out their "no return policy" to me. I was a bit shocked of his approach. Without hearing me out at first, he refused to take back an open item. I was surprised because nowhere on the receipt does it say anything about returns/exchanges, nor are there any signs in the store. His response to that: "Even if we had a sign, it's not like you would've read it". I'm sorry, but that was NOT the point. The point is that we wouldn't have that conversation, instead, he would've pointed out to the sign and we would move on. But instead, he had the nerve to imply that I'm incompetent to read or pay attention to the sign. OKAAYY! He also added that his employees are not trained cosmetologists, they're simply regular employees. I'm sorry, then why do they assume the right to tell you what color hair dye to get and what shade foundation? And touch your face? Regular employees are not assigned such jobs unless they know the hair or face products. Also, apparently, it was MY job to ask about the return policy. I'm sorry, but with the stupid return policy as such, employees should be trained to mention to every single customer that open items are final sale. Customers don't go around stores asking for the policy. Or a simple sign would do. I still tried to get a store credit by telling him that I had been their customer for over 10 years, his response being: " Everybody shops in this store", implying that even If one customer, which is me, stops shopping there, he couldn't care less because "everyone apparently shops there". I don't know where he got the idea that their store is the $hit, because I sure know a lot of people that DON'T shop, for numerous reasons. As I said, the only reason why I shopED there, was because it was convenient. By all means, I will get out of that zone and drive further, where I'll be guaranteed to get good customer service. On a positive note, although he did not take the item back and refund me my money, I called my bank and processed a charge back! Now, I got my money back, got to keep the merchandise, AND the store got charged for both. Boy, was I satisfied! So, take that! :) I discourage anyone from shopping at that store. Believe me, you deserve better treatment. I am also sure that same products could be found for cheaper prices AND you will be able to return them if you don't end up liking the item. read more

Bad customer service. Workers here don't have the required knowledge about their products and you end up taking the wrong product home and when you go back try to return or exchange it you they are the worst in helping you out. Most of their items can be found at target, cvs or Walgreens at lower prices so you are better off shopping from there which you will be able to easily exchange an item. I read so many bad reviews for this store that I almost looked for another store to go... I decided to give it a shot despite all the strangely similar negative reviews. The nature of my visit consisted of hair extensions and cosmetic supplies for my young student's first performance. We were promptly greeted by a kind sales associate who patiently helped us match the color of natural-hair extensions to my student's hair. She also helped us find the cosmetics we were looking to buy. The store was extremely clean and organized with generous space. There were a couple associates behind the counter. When the associate counted our total, the amount was more than expected... understandably. We were not aware of how expensive extensions are since it was our first time... however, without the slightest negative attitude, the young associate re-calculated our total minus the extensions despite the fact that they had already spent almost an hour helping us gather our items. I really appreciated her positive attitude and kindness in the matter. I will definitely be returning to this store in the future and won't hesitate to refer them to anyone! read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. As a matter of fact, this hair salon/supply store does not understand what the word CUSTOMER SERVICE means. To begin, my daughter bought an item and she kept her receipt. However, the item she bought was necessary to fix her hair for a wedding she needs to attend. With our luck, the item could not be used because her scalp was irritated and her stylist said she wouldn't be able to use it; neither her stylist or my daughter opened the item. I tried to go back to Beauty Mark the next day(less than 24 hours later) to return the item for my daughter in order to receive store credit for the UNOPENED ITEM. I was then told the item was FINAL SALE(which was not written on the receipt by the way) and they usually don't do returns or exchanges; however, being that my daughter and I are returning customers, I was under the impression that they would try to show some sort of customer courtesy to help us out. I also thought that even if they were going to turn me down, they would do it in a kindly fashion. First of all, the owner and his employees had an intense attitude problem. They were not only rude, but down-right disrespectful. I don't believe they ever heard of the phrase "THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT". Basic rules of sales sweetheart, if you can't understand them, you shouldn't own a business. Not only were they rude about the whole scenario; but they also said - and I quote - "Your daughter should've been more responsible; since she wasn't, now she can deal with her consequences". My daughter is 23 years old, and does not need to be disciplined or taught responsibility. She is not a hair stylist, nor could she have guessed what her scalp condition was. However, Beauty Mark does need to have a more professional demeanor with their customers and also understand that they are running a sales business, therefore CUSTOMER SERVICE is key. Not showing courtesy to customers, will result in having no customers at all. MY DAUGHTER AND I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN, AND I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO WALK IN THERE. You will be treated horribly and with an attitude from their employees and the owners. read more

I was looking for a beauty supply store like Sally's or even Hans but as it turns out in the "wonderful" city of Glendale no such luck. I really like Sally's the best because they actually let you shop without hovering over you like your going to stuff something down your braw. Due to my constant sense of urgency when I want something yesterday I decided to drive there and give it a try. On a Monday night, the store was near empty with at least 4 girls working and what appeared to be the owner. I quickly grabbed my wallet and headed towards the door even though the sign said open, I thought maybe it was closed due to the lack of patrons. Sure enough I was being hovered from second 1. The good thing was I actually did need help but under other circumstances I could easily see myself getting annoyed. The store was clean and there was a variety of everything. I found just what I needed; for this I give it three stars! They close at 7:30 Mon. Thru Fri. Not sure about weekends. I would like to go again but would like to take a friend so I don't feel so awkard. Their selection on Opi products, hair color, shampoos, coloring tools and styling products is amazing. read more
