Nine months ago, I had an excellent review. Today is a different story. Last Friday I bought my hair color that I've been purchasing from them 7-00and 8-00. The next morning I colored my hair for an event and when I opened the box for 7-00, it was half a tube of 6-00.Easy mistake. They have a hair salon next-door could've happened. I can see how it can happen. Not a big deal. What is a big deal is how Michelle, the buyer/manager treated me. When I first called her up, I asked to speak to the manager and she said the manager was not in and that she's the buyer she could help me. I told her the story, she said, you cannot return used hair color. I said, it's not a color I used. It's an incorrect color in the tube that I purchased. She said bring it in. I'll match the number with my inventory number and if it's there, I'll take care of you. I was a little frustrated and annoyed at that but I'm like OK. I couldn't go in until Tuesday. And she was not in. The person behind the counter (very nice ) took a picture of the product and my receipt and said she was sending the picture right then and a message. So I left. ***note*** it was at this time that I asked the person behind the counter if Michelle, was the buyer and the manager, and she said yes. *** I come back the next day, Thursday. So I call before heading in. Once again, I asked to speak to the manager and she wants to know who's calling. So, I asked to speak to the buyer, and she's ready to talk. Then, I tell her I'm the one who her associate sent the hair color box and my receipt. And it's frustrating because she acts like she has zero idea what this is about but then immediately says it did not match my inventory number. So that upset me. And I tell her, " that's not true" and she says well you only bought 800. And I said no, if you look at my receipt, it shows I bought two colors!! Now,I'm very frustrated because the finger is being pointed at me and I'm the customer!! I have been calling now three times to resolve this issue. And in her tone, she says how she's not trying to give me a hard time, and I said it seems like you are. And then she says come into the store. We're open from whatever to whatever and hangs up. I get to the store and she is there. I say are you Michelle the buyer, and she says yes. I said I'm the one who's trying to return the color. And she acts like she has no idea, again, about what I'm talking about. So, one more time I have to tell her the entire story. And she knows it. I know she knows. She's not dumb. She is the manager and the buyer. She's capable. She's just playing some kind of terrible game with a customer who's trying to resolve a $13 issue. And that is how I feel. And this is why I won't be returning to the store again and why I had her remove my points that I had and the ability to earn points. I deleted the app. I will never go to the store again because of her, Michelle, the manager, that she does not want to admit that she is. And the buyer She could not have been more rude to me if she tried! Her whole tone, her demeanor, her handling of the products, her body language, her look at me. It was just not a good thing to happen for a $13 product. Of which I had the box and the receipt for. And I brought in the other box that I purchased. And before I left, I raised my voice and I said you are so rude. You're not a nice person and she said I'm sorry, I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry she kept saying that. I'm like you're not sorry, you could've handled this differently. You're rude. Your customer service is terrible. the whole time she kept saying, I'm sorry. And I left. As I was walking out, she yells FORGIVE AND FORGET. And I replied, I will forgive, but I'm never gonna forget. And sadly, I won't. And I liked the store. They had great product. There is another lady that was there, that was always very nice. But if a little mistake happens, their buyer/ manager is not the person to resolve that issue. She is horrible. I cannot say that enough. read more

I've driven by this place hundreds of times, and I've FINALLY walked in. I wish I'd done it sooner!! Found a hair product that is NEVER sold at CVS and now that Rite Aid is closing down, they hardly have any products at all!! This hair product is good for adding color and more substance to an area of your head that you feel needs some help. There are different shades which is great. The price is reasonable and lasts quite a while. I walked around a little, and looked at similar products, but the price was higher. Since I had some time, I explored the store and found many beauty products. the prices seem reasonable. Some of the stuff looked a little old so I would recommend checking for the expiration date. The absolute beauty supply gem of LC!!!! Shelves are always fully stocked with some of the best items. I don't have to drive into Glendale, if you know you know! The place is super clean, helpful and friendly staff and owners who treat you like the favorite customer! They do this with everyone and make it a very inviting and local spot for all your beauty needs! I always have a friendly convo with the owner who always has the best recommendations. I told her my husband and I were traveling and she gave me some travel size goodies and wished me a safe trip. (HANS)DS DOWN , the best most well stocked beauty supply store . Period . I used to live in California , and this was my go to spot . I always had a great experience with Michelle , she is always so courteous helpful and friendly , and we would share small talk in between the transactions etc..... I now live in a small town of mostly scattered 20,000 people, with ZERO resources for quality beauty supplies , so occasionally i order from Hans when i run out of hair product because they still carry my go to brands i cant find anywhere else . It's difficult to get packages at times here , and after USPS deemed my package undeliverable ( we are rural ) they sent my package back to Hans . I called Hans and spoke with Aaron and explained what happened to my order , and he told me he would keep an eye out for the package and he would keep me informed . The next day , he texts me and calls me to say he has the package , and he will resend it , which he did . He kept me informed , sent me the new tracking number , and voila , my package is back on its way to me. The personalized service was amazing . It took one phone call to resolve this matter with Aaron (which was USPS's fault, NOT Hans ) . I have had nothing but great experiences with Hans , and to be so far away and STILL receive such personalized treatment speaks volumes not only on their product availability , but their exceptional customer service . We like shopping at this location. The Staff is ALWAY , Helpful and Friendly. They will go out of the way to help. My lates experience was this morning. I was looking For a specific Headband. FANTASTICS!! Service i received here from the moment i walked in. As a man i'm not use to walking into salon supply stores and have no clue what I need. I believe Melissa helped me and she was extremely helpful. I came in for hair/beard dye. I wanted to save $$$ because when i get a haircut and beard clean up i also color them and end up spending with tip about $110 every month and that gets really expensive. My buddy sent me here on the hunt for dark brown. I picked out something and Melissa said that i wouldn't match my hair color. She handed me the right product and gave me step by step direction how to use. I ended up spending only like $40 and enough coloring for 3 applications. I used to not like the Hans compared to the La Canada one but when I go to get my nails done with my mother, she will only go to this location in La Crescenta. And after going several times I realize it is just a good as it's other location, except they don't do hair and tend to be less crowded. Parking is easy and the specialize in doing nails and even have a "nail clinic." Had a pedicure done almost two weeks ago and it's still going strong. I'm stoked to see how long they last. Seriously, Hans does some of the best pedicures ever. Hands down. They never chip. My mother even argues that her pedicures last two months when she uses a dark nail polish, I find that hard to believe but whatever. I guess time will tell. Highly recommended though it is a little pricier at 23 some odd bucks a pedicure. But the quality is soo high - trust me I have had a lot of pedicures and they normally chip relatively easy from every day wear and tear -- the extra moolah is totally worth it because it lasssts. read more

My mom swears by the gel manicures that she gets done at Han's, so I decided to give them a whirl. I didn't have an appointment, and when I walked in, Diane did my nails. She was incredibly meticulous. It was, hands down, the best manicure I've ever had done anywhere, and that was even before she applied the gel polish! She did an awesome job of applying the gel polish, even on my super short nails, and it was dry in an instant. Since having the manicure done, I've put together multiple pieces of Ikea furniture, washed a bunch of dishes, and done some yardwork/gardening, and my nails are still PERFECT. They've grown out a little since getting them done (two and a half weeks now), but they still look great, and I was able to trim/file them down without messing up the tips at all. I'll get gel manicures from Diane at Han's forever. Best $27 I've ever spent. Note: you cannot put a tip on a credit card here, so be sure you bring cash for that. read more

[Review based on the store--not salon] I come to Hans all the time to buy hair dye to fix up just about everyone's hair--but to be completely honest only because of the location's convenience. Sally's Beauty Supply still carries a lot more varieties of just about everything Han's sells. If instead of a salon they had used the space to make the store larger and put more products out for sale, they would be getting a lot more business. Well, at least from me! All in all, not bad. I was their last client for the night and they didn't make me feel rushed or do a half-hearted job in the least.
