Tim Nichols is the best stylist I have come across in all the years I have had my hair done. I started wearing Great Lengths Extensions several years ago. When we moved to San Antonio I had a very difficult finding a salon that I was happy with and that cared about the integrity of my hair. I found Tim at Beauty Storm and was very hesitant as he dealt with Hairdreams Extensions. I had a very bad experience with Great Length certified stylists in San Antonio as well as with Great Lengths customer service when I had questions. So with that said, I tried Beauty Storm. I had my hair colored with Tim and discussed Hairdreams Extensions. I was very surprised when he said I would not need as many extensions. My hair felt in better condition AFTER my color, which was rare for me. The color was perfect! Good-bye brassiness! I definitely found my salon for color! The next step was extensions. I have since had extensions done twice with Tim. I have beautiful hair with less extensions! He blended my hair perfectly with the extensions. Hairdreams is very soft and beautiful hair. I do believe that Hairdreams surpasses Great Lengths with respect to quality. Beauty Storm is a fantastic salon. I do not feel like a dollar sign walking in the door! From the perspective of a graying lady who still wants to look good, I have nothing but praise for Tim and Linda at Beauty Storm. I've been going to this small, low-key salon for about 8 months, and have been extremely pleased with the way Tim styles my hair. He IS a pro, and maybe (like Victoria S. said) a genius. I will never go anywhere else until Tim decides to retire (which is not likely to be anytime soon)! Linda gave me a perm a few weeks ago which made my hair amazing: soft, manageable, non-frizzy, holds a curl... everything I wanted in a perm. I don't color my hair, so I can't comment on that particular service, but judging by what I've seen and heard from other customers, the folks at Beauty Storm have excellent coloring skills. They have customers of all ages, mostly women from what I've seen, but several men, also. This is not a fancy, overpriced day spa. What it is is a hair salon (NOT a barber shop...Lucy R. must have had a bad day at work when she wrote her review) which provides not only a multitude of services (extensions, keratin treatments and alot of other things I've never even heard of, in addition to the basics) at VERY reasonable prices, but also treats its customers as intelligent human beings whose opinions and wishes regarding the way they want to look are respected. read more

I had the best experience getting full highlights at Beauty Storm with Cindy! Normally, I dread going to new stylists because my hair is "problematic". It's long, curly, dry, and very thick. Usually stylists have a very hard time working with it and I rarely get what I asked for. But I went in last week for a free consultation with pictures and Cindy really put my mind at ease. Today my appointment ran long (hours) but that being said, I do have a ton of hair. Frankly, I'm happy/relieved that she took her time and did a good job instead of rushing or half-assing the job! And my hair came out perfect. It was exactly what I wanted, and I can't see myself going anywhere else now. And here is the best part: her prices were incredibly reasonable. I've paid over $300 for full highlights before at Ulta salon, and usually mom and pop salons charge at least $200. Cindy charged way less than that. Ladies, if you are looking for a new stylist, look no further! Cons: Salon is not in the most convenient loaction, and my experience would have been much better sans the cheesy christian rock that played the whole time. Whatever. Cindy's worth it. read more

I had been going to my old salon for the past 6 years and they started using new products, I went back for highlights and after 3 seperate times my hair come out orange. I researched and found Beauty Storm Salon and read the numerous amount of great reviews and said why not try? I emailed him and he promised he could do it in 2 tries. I had ombre done by a different colorist and it was terrible! It was orangish. I called Beauty Storm and spoke with Cindy who moved around her own schedule to get me in that day! I right away felt special. She listened to what I wanted and made me shoot for my dream red hair instead of settling for fixing ombre. She deep conditioned my hair and talked about products with me without being pushy. The color is BEAUTIFUL! It looks natural and was exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend her.
