I tend to feel out of place going to hair salons and have always leaned more towards the chain places because of that but after a few bad haircuts, decided it's better to spend a little extra for a change and it was worth it. The atmosphere is very friendly and the ladies who are working there seem to genuinely enjoy what they are doing and being around one another. Gina, the owner, has done a great job making a real welcoming environment and fostering a place for young hairstylists to learn. I really don't know much about this place but I guess first impressions are always important. I walked into this place with a 14-year-old grandson who asked to wait in the car, so I can see if we could do a walk in. Two Young ladies, both of the seemed not interested interested in helping. But was even weird is that when I asked how much haircut was explained about my grandson having a graduation this evening and we just didn't realize his hair was in need of a cut when I picked him up me being the grandmother she said "my haircut started at $90." but really didn't offer to help. also, someone standing at the desk in a little corner not doing anything.. she did mention it. Another young lady could probably do it, who was actually working on someone but her haircut started at $50 so I asked for a 14-year-old boy? And she said it doesn't matter the gender or the age or haircut starts in $90. I think the problem was more that she looked down at me as if one I couldn't afford the $90 even though it is ridiculous for a 14-year-old boy haircut but the vibe was not comfortable. I can't review haircuts and I can't review any services because obviously we didn't stay to get any service done. All I can say is that I left there feeling belittled and looked down on and scratching my head thinking about the $90 for a 14 year-old boy haircut.???? after she continually referred me to three different places I realize she really didn't want to Service me or my grandson. ....good luck. read more

While spending a summer in SATX, I needed both hair and skin services. I found this lovely salon, and am so glad I did! I did a little research, then just walked in to check out the vibe. A very cool atmosphere and welcoming staff had me hooked from the start. I made a color appointment with Reana for later that day, snagging a rare opening in their busy schedule. Reana did a great job and the salon owner Gina checked in for a consult, which I really liked. Gina has clearly got lots of experience and wants to make sure things go smoothly in her salon. Great ownership. I learned a few things about my hair and about color from Reana and Gina as well. I decided to book a Signature facial appt. with Priscilla for later in the week, since I was having a breakout situation and nothing was working very well to get it under control. Truth be told, I was at my wit's end with suddenly having uncontrollable breakouts, and Priscilla was on hand to take a look at what might be happening. She assured me we could make some improvements. What Priscilla did for me at my appointment was nothing short of magic. She took her time, and after thorough examination, proceeded to give me an amazing facial. After the treatment, she gave me specific recommendations on products and the ingredients to look for in each step of my skincare. It's been just over a month since my treatment and my skin is no longer problematic... I look and feel like I'm putting my best face forward thanks to the Chromatic edge team. Dear Gina, you were the one with attitude that day from the moment I asked about the wait as you appeared to be with another customer. You didn't almost have to call the cops, you threatened to because I wouldn't leave until I finished my Yelp review and that pissed you off. Even after I told you to go ahead and call the cops, you didn't, why? Because I wasn't doing anything but sitting there reviewing your attitude on Yelp. Don't feel sorry for my daughter, she felt sorry for your employees because of your attitude and the way you treat customers and said so as soon as we left. Holly was absolutely amazing with coloring my hair! I went in for a consultation prior to booking my appointment and her quote was pretty spot on. Holly also helped me with which products to use in my hair, was very open to answer all of my questions, and overall was just great conversation throughout the process. As a former hairdresser I'm annoyingly involved in the cutting of my hair and very picky about the smallest nuances. Barbara ROCKED my haircut. She perfected what is and set it up for growing into what I want it to be. She not only listened to me-but HEARD what I was looking for and even in the middle of the cut, stopped to ask what direction I wanted to go with the back of it. What a great salon and the service from Roxie is A+. It is the best Men's cut I have had in years. The price is higher than I was used to, but I soon realized that you get what you pay for and having a confident haircut is worth it. There are places that charge less, but this place is where you go to fix what they did wrong. Now that doesn't mean all of you need to go there because I still want to be able to make an appointment without being on a major waiting list. I'm amending my first review due to the professionalism that Gina showed after having some damage to my hair during my salon experience. My hair was in fact damaged during my Balayage, however, after posting my review here, Gina immediately contacted me offering to do anything possible to make it right. She offered many, many options and while I'm unwilling to go back, there was nothing she wasn't willing to do to make it right. Having a mom who was a stylist for almost 20 years, she would have done the same and sometimes accidents happen. How it's handled afterward goes a long way to creating a long term customer. I'm a firm believer, hair is just hair. And while my experience was not what I had hoped, I do believe Gina will do what she can to correct any undesirable outcome. The numerous amazing reviews I believe are accurate and accidents happen. While I won't be back to Chromatic Edge, I can truly say she did everything possible to correct the mistake. They got me in quickly which was nice but they completely burnt my hair when I went in for balayage and had to cut off 4 inches of my hair because they had fried it so badly and then kept leaving me to assist other clients for like 30 minutes at a time. I was literally there for 8 hours to get my hair done and was charged separate for the color and the forced cut. And am still left with such dry ends and Carmel colors that I didn't want. read more

My color turned out great by Gina but the cut I got from another stylist here did not turn out so well. The layers cut in the back are too short up top so I have a "helmet" appearance since there is a large gap between the shortest and longest layers. Fortunately, I can kind've disguise the problem by waving/curling my hair or putting it up in a bun so I'm just going to deal with it and allow time for my shortest layers to grow out. I would have typically stressed a bit more but because of the ability to disguise I'm not as bent out of shape about it. The stylist did a great job styling my hair which is probably why I did not even notice the layered issue until a couple of days after the waves fell and I washed my hair. I will say that everyone was very nice (including the stylist who cut my hair) and it was a clean/well-kept salon. read more

Don't bother going there. Will charge $30 - $40 for a men's cut. You can pay $11 for a basic at Rios that won't look as bad. They seem to specialize more in women's cuts. read more

Chromatic Edge offers makeup and updo's for special events so I figured I would come here for my wedding day needs. My sister and I both came for makeup and hair, and man were we just absolutely excited about the results. Barbara did our makeup and Gina did our hair and they both did an amazing job.
