Just wanted to update that I still come here and now bring my teenage daughter with me!

I have been many places to get my hair cut and I have ended up here because it's the best bang for my buck. I get more of what I am looking for with less grief or disappointment than anywhere else in the area including Mario Tricucci's. I always ask for Basia but I think everyone's good here. I pay a flat $27 and get my hair washed and blown dry. A scissors cut is always standard and I get more complements on my hair cuts than I ever have in my life. It looks like a women's salon but it's not. Plenty of men come here believe me. It's like as Polish secret place. read more

I haven't had a hair cut in over two years. It's two days before Thanksgiving. It's 1:40 pm and I call Suks. Very friendly woman answers phone. Can I get a hair cut today? Can you be here in 20 minutes? Yes! Enter salon. Can I help you? (Said a smiling woman blow drying a guests hair). Yes. I just made an appointment 20 minutes ago. Are you Erika? Yes. Welcome. You can hang your coat over here and Lynn will be right with you. Great. Thanks. Lynn gets me within 3 minutes and 30 minutes later I am walking out a new woman. We had an initial consultation. I told her what I wanted. She listened to what I wanted and I could see her mind clicking while she listened to me. Easy peasy! I mentioned maybe long layers?? Lynn took her scissors and created a longer hair masterpiece on me. I felt like two years of stress melted away. Getting hair that's two years old cut off while really feeling comfortable with Lynn was a rather cleansing experience. The entire shop has genuine, Midwestern attitudes. Very friendly people. The cut was $40. I find that very fair. The shop was very clean, the stylists seemed very friendly during the 30 minutes it took to get a great cut, and I was so comfortable. I get the feeling that all the stylists there are really good. But I can only speak for Lynn. And she was fantastic. I'll be back. Lynn, if you read this, thank you. And thank you Suks. read more

I was in a bind - I needed to find a salon to do my hair for a wedding in the suburbs and I refused to overpay. My sister recommended this place to get my hair done. The experience was great from the moment I called. I should preface it with I was a nightmare customer. Ie: I called two days before (procrastinating I know) to get an appointment - on Saturday morning. Not only did I have a short notice appointment, but my times were just not flexible. I needed to be out of there by 10:30 at the latest. After explaining my situation, they were so nice and didn't give me any attitude about my lack of planning. In fact, they accommodated me into one woman's schedule [I believe her name was Lynn but am not 100% sure]. The service was just as great when I got there. I was seated promptly. She was running behind a little bit, but by no means how other places do - I was started within 10 minutes of my appointment. I had an idea of what kind of an updo I'd like, but more importantly I told her: my hair is difficult, it's an outdoor wedding, and it must last. She worked her magic and the results were amazing! It was also the kind of a place where I showed the other ladies who were still there because everyone is friendly and chatting. She was personable, fast, and talented. It was probably the best updo I did ever and much better than other styles that I saw that evening and at other weddings. [Plus it REALLY did last all day and only started to come apart at midnight.] She was reasonably priced for the area ($50) and she deserved the great tip. I would definitely recommend this place. With their service, I'm sure everything else is just as good. Now I only need them to open a Chicago location. :-) read more

Linda did my nails after a horrible experience at another place and she did a great job. Super nice. very accomodating. Even let me borrow a mini bottle of nail color for the weekend in case my nails got messed up. Do note that she only accepts cash or checks despite the signs on the door that say otherwise. The nails and hair are seperate so the hair salon accepts credit cards, but not the nail salon. read more

Suk has done a great job on my hair in the past, best I had had in a long time in fact. I was thrilled to find her but she was expensive. Went a couple of weeks ago after moving to a new area and having several to-do cuts. This is the worst cut I think I've ever had. My hair is thinning and the way it was styled made it so difficult to fix without it looking like a complete comb over. I realized that she parted it on the wrong side, and it's better with the part corrected but looks like a bad chip job. I'm getting a rescue cut tomorrow. read more
