Honestly, I have been a loyal customer here for over 5 years. For YEARS I've spent over $1,000 (each year) on Sugaring services at Beauty Utopia. As of today, I will never return. Booking an appointment is unnecessarily stressful, and I'm not sure who is handling or responding to the text inquiries but they barely even make an effort to find an appointment time for you. It is like pulling teeth which is the last thing you want when scheduling a Brazilian wax, of all things. I would expect a little more loyalty, or at least a little better customer service if you've paid thousands of dollars over the years, tipped $20+ each time, referred several friends, and left several positive yelp reviews in an effort to support a local business. I've been extremely happy with Gloria and Cindy's Sugaring skills in the past, but I find this lack of customer service, after all these years of loyalty, EXTREMELY disappointing, and frankly, very disrespectful. My artist name is Gina and she is amazing! I haven't had my lashes done in a long time and my eyes were twitching out allot at the beginning. She was very patient with me and helped me relax :) the music is very soothing as well so I was able to fully relax once she started placing lashes . Once done I was amazed! She recommends coming back every two to three weeks and I will follow her recommendation and be back ! I thought they would also shape my eyebrows but she only applied the wax which got everywhere and was messy, whenever she moved the stick with wax it would drip across my face. Also really hard to find as it's hidden and the parking is inside a garage to which you then have to text them that you're here for the appointment. I've been coming here for many years for a variety of services. I usually get waxed, facials and eyelash extensions. This review is for eyelash extensions. Not that I'm not getting the other services, but I've been mainly coming in on a more regular basis again due to eyelash extensions. They do a good job for a very reasonable price. I used to get a size 13 with flairs. I have gone down in size and I think the 11's are still long enough to show up in pictures, but not too long to look like I'm going to a party every single day. I also have them use glue for sensitive skin and I don't have an issue most of the time. I love this place. It's awesome. I am so happy that they are back in business! Now that we're living in this pandemic, Gloria and her staff are taking extra step to keep us, the clients, safer and protected. When I went for my sugaring, I had to text Gloria to let her know that I have arrived. I stayed in my car until she texted me to come in (to avoid client traffic inside). Before I come in, she checks my temperature and then sprays the bottom of my shoes with disinfectant and gives me hand sanitizer before touching anything inside. I did not see any other clients in the hallway, so there is good social distancing. Gloria wears the a face shield, face mask and gloves the whole time and she keeps changing gloves during the treatment. I felt protected during my whole appointment. After, she disinfects the whole table and doorknobs and let the disinfectant dry until the next costumer. I hope they will stay open. read more

They still follow Covid protocol so you have to wait in the garage by the back entrance & check in via text message. I've only done lash services here and it took a few tries before I found a style & lash technician I liked. I prefer to book with Eling as I find she really collaborates with you on what look you're going for and executes it. I usually don't have to rebook for another 3-4 weeks for a fill as her work is pretty solid and I've been informed on proper lash ext care. I also like that I can either have a fun conversation with her or that she doesn't mind me falling sleep. I've woken myself up by snoring a few times and she just pauses & continues like a true professional lol Prices are worth services performed. I've been a loyal patron of Beauty Utopia for about 7 years now, even after moving to Santa Clarita. I get my Brazilian sugaring done with Gloria (the owner) but every technician there is great and highly trained before ever providing services. This facility is very clean and tidy. During this Covid-19 pandemic Gloria has taken all the steps necessary to ensure the safety of her clients as well as her staff. I recently visited and was sent a text before my appointment with directions and regulations to follow. The lobby is no longer open as a waiting room. Instead, you must text them upon arrival and wait at the back door to be allowed entry. Before even entering the building clients must be wearing a mask, have their temperature checked, have the bottom of their shoes sprayed with a disinfectant and use hand sanitizer. The staff all wear masks and the technicians wear a mask, gloves and face shield. This was my first time going back since their reopening after stay at home orders and I can say that I felt safe and protected due to the extra precautions, something I appreciate very much. I waited a long time (years, before writing this review). Let me preface this by saying that I understand that the pandemic has caused all businesses to experience changes and loss of staff. Whoever is in charge of answering text messages is not very good with customer service. Before the pandemic, whoever was in charge was really friendly and helpful. I can tell that it's not the same person anymore. I have had several instances in which this new person doesn't seem to read what I write correctly and it leads to a very confusing exchange. Other times, this person will offer a time and date and then five minutes later tell me that it has been booked already (??). Text messages can leave a lot to interpretation, but whenever I text for an appointment, I feel like I'm bothering and it makes me want to take my business elsewhere. Now, I LOVE Cindy. She's the only reason I continue to get my eyebrows done here, really. She's super sweet, efficient, and takes time to take good care of you. It's the only reason I'm giving this place four stars (though I was tempted to give it three instead). If you can, call for an appointment and book her. They have taken safety protocols in reopening such as mobile check-in to maintain social distancing, temperature screening, protective facial mask, hand sanitizer upon entering, contactless payment, and they also sanitize with hospital grade cleansers. Gloria and her team is great with accommodating your beauty needs while keeping safe. This is my long overdue review for my FAVORITE beauty one stop. I've been coming here for about 3 years, regularly, and I would not go anywhere else! I used to come here for Brazilian sugaring every 4-6 weeks pre-pandemic, used to get my eyebrows threaded & waxed (switched around however I felt like that day), have gotten eyelash extensions few times... Then the pandemic happened and I MISSED THIS PLACE SO MUCH! I was so excited to be back once it opened again, and when I felt comfortable enough to be back. They take the COVID protocol very seriously, the moment you walk up to the door. They check your temperature, sanitize the bottom of your shoes, and make sure you use the hand sanitizer upon entry. And I really appreciate that, because it makes me feel safe to come here during this time. Every single visit has been, and always are 100% satisfying. All the staff are so professional & on top of their game! I LOVE seeing Cindy every few weeks to get my Brazilian sugaring done, she makes me laugh SO HARD EACH TIME! It can be pretty awkward just laying there butt naked in front of a stranger, but Cindy knows how to make the situation bearable, with funny jokes and fun conversations. This was also my first experience with sugaring (and first time with hard wax for eyebrows), which was done efficiently and relatively quickly as well. Appreciated the covid protocols: received a message when my esthetician would greet me at the back door instead of using a common waiting area, sanitizing bottom of shoes, hand sanitizer, temp check, sanitization of all surfaces used between appointments, contactless payment via venmo Their current infographic says that they only accept cash payments. Had a problem with my atm right before arriving, so I didn't have all the cash I needed. Was happy to find out they accept payment via Venmo as well, which was more clear when I arrived! COVID-19 Update: I commend Beauty Utopia for taking all of the necessary precautions due to the pandemic. They have you text them that you have arrived and wait outside until the esthetician comes to get you. They check your temperature, spray the bottoms of your shoes, and provide you with hand sanitizer before letting you in. Only giving 2 stars as the owner called me to try and rectify. However, why would I give this place another chance when they screwed my eyes up so bad the first time? Nah, I'll pass. Don't need to explain much. Just see photos attached. My eyes were like this for a week. Swollen lids and bloodshot. It was traumatizing. And painful AF! My normal lash gal was out due to surgery and I needed something asap for a trip. This was close to my house and had good reviews. UNSURE HOW. It's been 1 month and I'm still waiting for these some of these stupid lashes to come off. I still wake up with slightly swollen eyelids. The technician Tiffany, glued them directly ON to my eyelid which is a huge NO. Pretty sure I've lost 50% of my real lashes due to this. Not sure if I'll ever get extensions again. Such a scarring experience. If you're wondering "why didn't she just have them removed?". Well, I travel for work. I'm in a new city everyday producing events. NO time to have them removed. FINALLY back in LA and have an appointment with my normal girl to get these things off. read more

I've been going to Beauty Utopia for about 5 years. All the technicians are great. I've been seeing Kelly my last two lash appointments. I don't get a full set, I get 60 silk lashes. Why? I just want a very soft and subtle look. I don't like going all out with a full set. I've asked to just add to my natural lash length and Kelly flippin' does it every time. I have people ask me all the time if my lashes are real... Yes that is how natural they look! I do have thick lashes naturally so I can get away with 60 pieces and it's not noticable when they fall out. 60 silk runs about $70. I know the appointment takes about an hour and that time could be spent on someone spending more on a full set. I always tip in cash and use zelle to pay for the lashes. I have always felt safe and they are very covid conscious. Gloria the owner is just amazing. Waxing, facials and lashes are what I've gone to them for. They also keep track of your previous appointments so if you forget the name of who you had or how many lashes you recieved, they have it on file. read more

I searched a sugaring salon as my last salon did something I didn't like and did not want to go back. I found the salon on yelp and used yelp to set up a same day appointment. It was simple and straight-forward. The salon has underground parking so that is always a plus. I walked in and the ambiance was calm. The receptionist greeted me immediately and I only waited a few minutes before seeing the esthetician. The room was decent size and there was a TV! The TV was a helpful distraction. I was in and out in 15 minutes. She was thorough and my skin was nice and soft afterwards. The process was so easy. With my positive experience, I definitely will try this salon again. read more

See Yoreen for facial and Sophia for lashes. My appointment started on time with Yoreen. Sweet girl! She performed a back treatment using Dermalogica production involving microdermabrasion. The session included most of what you might encounter in a typical facial such as a light massage. Thereafter, came the fun part: extractions. Yoreen was selective, strategic, had a light touch, and didn't make a mess of my back. I would entrust her with my skin again. She was thorough, took her time, and ended our session on time for my next appointment with Sophia. Sophia was in charge of removing my lash extensions applied by a different business. Though my time with her was brief, I loved her light touch and care in removing my lash extensions. If I were to have lash extensions applied again, I would seek out Sophia. The service was fantastic. The technicians all wore white scrubs. The facility was nice! It had a spa-like quietness. Most clients enjoyed their treatments in silence, the techs whispered when interacting with one another, and music played in low volume. The technicians were professional, skilled, courteous, and sweet. My one enhancement suggestion relates to their appointment booking process. Upon booking my appointment over the phone, Front Desk asked for my credit card information to charge in the event of a late cancellation or no show. I do not accurately recall the terms now. I respected it and I showed up to my appointment on time. During the sign-in and payment process, I was never offered an agreement to sign that would allow them to charge my card going forward, in the event of a late cancellation or no show. I foresee myself returning here because I enjoyed the service and people, despite this policy. However, this sort of policy does not promote frequent visits. read more

Staff is friendly and always made me feel so comfortable. I've always loved coming here and was excited when I got the message that they were open again. They are appointment only at the moment and have a lot of safety precautions. Don't forget your mask! As soon as you park, call to let them know that you are here. You can either wait in your car in the parking structure or in their outside waiting area. The beautician will come out and upon entering they have you disinfect your shoes and they give you hand sanitizer. They also take your temperature. I got my usual brazillian sugaring done, a quick and painless procedure, and she immediately sprayed down and disinfected the lounge chair to make sure it is safe for the next visitor. I felt very comfortable and safe throughout the whole visit and am looking forward to my next visit! So since I moved to California I have to find all new hair nails wax etc. After reading a ton of reviews I decided to make an appointment with this place. It's 6 mins from where I live and they have street parking. They did have a garage but I'm not sure if that was for the salon and/or for the apartment building. My appointment was at 1:40 and they took me back at 1:44 pm. I was scared because I wanted to try the sugaring since it's more organic and plus this is a new place and I have sensitive skin. Cindy walked in and explained everything to me! She I shored me that it would be less painful than getting the hard wax. I would say it took 5 mins for her to get everything done (Brazilian Wax). There is also a TV in the room to distract you from the pain lol. Since I was a new customer I paid $40 for my first Brazilian wax when I visit again it will be $50 for the sugaring. Cindy made me feel at ease and was so sweet. The establishment is super clean and smells good when you walk in as well! I'll be back next month! Cindy works Friday - Monday. read more
