We had the place to ourselves and they allowed us to bring in some breakfast foods to enjoy while everyone got their hair done. They also had a makeup artist come in who did some of the girls make up, and they allowed others to bring their own and do it themselves. I can't speak personally to the typical hair cuts and other services, however the bride goes here regularly as did one of the bridesmaids mothers an both had nothing but good things to say. Through emailing Lauren I booked my wedding date & a trial (which took a couple weeks waiting on emails back & forth from lauren, she takes atleast 3 days to a week+ between each email). I arrived for my trial, was told the makeup girl couldn't make it and would have to reschedule. I thought okay no biggie. Lauren then did my hair trial, it was honestly great, I was happy with it & was looking forward to rescheduling my makeup trial. I told Lauren to let me know asap when I can reschedule the makeup bc I only had about 6 weeks until my wedding at that point so I wanted to have the trial asap. For starters.. I needed a hair cut. Badly. At this point, it was almost a year if not longer since…read moremy last cut. I used to be one of those people that insists that it's cheaper to do my own hair. Notice I said "used to be". Normally I'd bleach my hair at home, color it every couple weeks or month depending on what mood I was in. At one point, I even had dreadlocks. Which over the years & in the end.. took a nasty toll on my hair. I finally decided to let it be healthier & try to better my ways. This being, letting a professional handle it. Anyways, my cousin had told me about this salon - she has been coming here for a long time. I reached out to Tiffany for a consultation. Although embarrassed, I told her about all of my past & recent hair mistakes. I did want some coloring done - my hair was covered in dark box dye with some bright red underneath it somewhere. I knew my hair was damaged, but as a priority, still needed a cut regardless. She helped me make an appointment to visit as soon as possible. On arrival, I was greeted by her assistant Madie. Super nice & smiley - which I loved. She guided me to the chair & put my cape on. She even offered me a beverage. I was already loving this place. Tiffany greeted me shortly after - also, super nice & friendly. At this moment, I loved everyone's personalities. Tiffany cut my hair & Madie had washed and styled it. Both of the ladies were very informative & explained every step they did along the way. I left with a fresh do & an appointment for color! About a week later, I returned for color. A fresh balayage. Tiffany knew about the dark box dye & underlying red color on my hair. We went over a few photos I had picked out. Dissected them together, figuring out what would work best for me. I went into this journey knowing that we might not be able to lift my hair to be as light as I picked out - I was okay with that. I really appreciated the time they put into helping me understand everything. Madie & Tiffany both worked on my hair as a team & conquered it. In the end, with a few processes and treatments later.. we were able to get a fall inspired color (much lighter than anticipated). We named it "pumpkin chai". In the future, I can return to have it lightened further. For now & for fall tho.. I'm gonna leave it be. I'm very happy with my experiences at Vivid. Their knowledge and expertise is far beyond other salons. They're constantly furthering their skills whenever possible. Which is super important to me. Staying on top of current trends, colors or processes - is how you stay the best! I would recommend anyone to give them shot. I immediately decided to make a change. So I started my search; stressful for a guy I say.. I went to a bunch of places to select my new hair stylist salon. BTW, this process can be very hectic, and of course time consuming as many of you already know. My schedule requires a "walk in" on my day of availability. I cannot book a month in advance at an agreed upon time as many places require nowadays. One day, being in the neighborhood, I just walk in off the street at the Great Clips Timber Ridge thinking maybe they can take a walk in right now. What the heck, why not give it a try I thought. One of the stylists was available right at that time so I thought this was perfect timing. Before I sat down I asked her if she could accommodate my preferred cut which by the way was a scissor cut. She said yes and also commented I cut it the way you want me to cut it; it is not a problem at all. Well things only got better. She explained to me how she does a cut and adjusted the cut periodically to my liking before she finished with the job at hand. The cut was exactly what I desired. She was an experienced stylist and importantly knew hair and also knew how to interact with customers; two major factors when selecting a stylist place. I have never looked back. This is my hair styling salon now going on 3 years, Sometimes you get lucky just walking in off the street. I suggest trying this place but I do have a selfish steak. If I tell everyone about my place it may get really crowded and I may have to wait in line the proverbial 20 minutes for a cut which by the way is a small inconvenience compared to the great service I know I will experience afterwards. So I am a bit uneasy posting here. If not taken immediately, I check my text messages while I wait a few minutes and many times I get called up to the chair before I can even finish reading the texts.
