I'm not sure how they have good reviews because I left here with completely destroyed lashes. I went for a lash lift and I swear the girl who did them..it must have been her first day. She was fumbling around, didn't even secure my bottom lashes, and I left with burnt lashes. They were a mess going in different directions and looked like hair that was put under a flame and burned. It took me so long to get them healthy again, I tried every product to make them look even semi-normal. I was truly traumatized. The place did not look clean or professionally set up either. My first lashes appointment was with Fernanda and they looked great, but they all fell out when I went on vacation and my face was assaulted by the wind and salt water of the Pacific - I also didn't know you have to wash them to prevent oily buildup, so yeah. I came back two weeks later with literally no extensions left and had to pay for a full set all over again rather than a touch-up. I do wish they had told me about needing to wash them, because I really wasn't provided with the full aftercare instructions the first time I got them. But, now I know. They sell a special foam wash and gentle applicator for the soap here, which I recommend purchasing. My second session was with Viktoriia, who is absolutely incredible. Mynx & Inks is definitely out of the way if you live in DC, but it's worth it for the fair pricing and amazing quality.

I had purchased a Groupon for a scalp massage and mini facial, and it ended up being one of the most relaxing, rejuvenating experiences I've had. You change into an adorable snap-front wrap (just remove your top and bra), and the experience begins with the facial. I never realized how much tension I was holding in my face until Jenny worked her magic! The products all had delicate, calming scents that made the experience even more enjoyable. Next came a neck, shoulder, and chest massage... followed by the scalp massage. Wow. I think I actually dozed off for a few minutes--it was heavenly. If you're someone who loves having your hair washed at the salon, this is an experience you absolutely need to try. After the massage, your hair is shampooed and conditioned before you move to a styling chair for a partial blow dry. One of the coolest parts was that Jenny used a special camera to examine the health of my scalp. We could actually see everything on a screen!
