If you're exploring rural Arizona, looking for Montezuma's Castle, Montezuma's Well, the Tuzigoot ruins, check into this cute, well decorated, clean little inn. It's a real gem hidden among the sycamores in the Verde Valley. Breakfast comes with your night's stay, available in the hospitality room. You'll also find 2 walls full of DVDs available for use for free. Recommended.

Avoid like the plague, rooms are cleaned with toxic chemicals that make the rooms inhabitable, and they will still charge you.

Mingus, and also as an excellent way to avoid the excess of nearby Sedona. During the first visits to The Historic Connor Hotel my respite was Room 12, up the creaky wooden stairs to the top floor, where a king bed, private bath and great views of the Verde Valley greeted me every morning. I stayed for several nights, enjoying the first floor Spirit Room Bar and its live music and western comaraderie by night, and its strong coffee and light breakfast at first light if not too hungover. It was a wonderful space to write, reflect and philosophize. It might have been haunted like other places in town, but me and that ghost got along just fine. Two loners we were. I returned three times to Connor, reserving #12 each time. It was a home away from home. Although during those years I occasionally slept in other heads on beds in Jerome when I felt the need for a change, this 1898 stone and brick edifice always had my heart. Highest recommendation! 5 Silver Stars

Beverly and her (husband?) went above & beyond, extremely helpful and accommodating, until I was back on the road again. I highly recommended this motel and the managers! The chairs and table are covered so you can relax outside even if it's raining Con's: These 2 things are why I didn't give 5 stars: Spotty wifi. A large, tattooed man popped out of one of the office doors and just stood there looking at me when I pulled in, parked and got out of my car. He didn't say anything - I had to say hi to him first. It was very odd and uncomfortable. Notes: There is no phone in the room. There is a smoking area off each end of the hotel.

In the winter, I love just staying in the main rooms or any of the cottages and decompressing, relaxing, staying warm. In the summer, it's the perfect area to go on some great hikes (I recommend Highline, Wildcat, and Fossil Creek of course). The rooms/airstreams are immaculate - with a truly relaxing, rejuvenating aesthetic. I've stayed in the queen and king rooms with couch, desk etc as well as the cottage and airstream which have more space and little kitchenettes perfect for making a small breakfast or reheating some leftovers. Service is really top tier- especially considering everything is hands-off, and there's no physic host/ess property manager on site- but Mike the Elk answers promptly and fulfills all reasonable requests to ensure your stay is just about perfect. Highly recommend coming here just for the inn alone- all of the other activities, restaurants and attractions will follow! @azfitfoodfun

We stayed in Airstream #4 and it was perfect. Very private and a nice view. There are some homes nearby but nothing super close. Loved the chairs, fire table, and the hot tub! Even had elk and deer walk right by the campsite while we were there, it's awesome! The inside of the Airstream was nice! Queen size bed, super comfy. Spacious enough with a couch and mini kitchen and fridge. Even had a TV and wifi. The bathroom does not have a door - so if you're coming with friends, beware! There is a Keurig too. I do wish the properties were spaced out from each other more. You are very close to the other rentals. Especially walking around. Saw tons of families so kids definitely could make the trip. You can easily walk up to Windmill Coffee or the PIEbar! Definitely recommend both. The communication with the staff and concierge was very easy and quick responses. We didn't have any issues during our stay. Truly felt like we were able to step away and be on our getaway. It's such a quiet and peaceful area. Couldn't recommend the Strawberry Inn more! We absolutely loved our stay and can't wait to come back!

As we're cruising down the main street we passed The Inn Above Oak Creek and noticed they had a lit-up vacancy sign. There is seating down by the creek, on the patio off the main room, and inside the main room itself that all have great views. Our room was very spacious with a 2-person sized bathtub and a fireplace! It had truly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in away from home. My husband was obsessed and wanting to know how we could copy it to have at home. Both of the inn managers were so kind and took such good care of us.
