We stayed here Tuesday and Wednesday night at the end of May. We stayed in room 113 and it was pretty quiet for a bottom floor room. Next time, we would ask to stay on the 2nd floor, facing the pool area across the street. The rooms are very nice, the pool area is great and the staff in the office were very friendly and helpful. There was one lady that worked the afternoon/evenings that we kept running into who was very helpful and friendly to us. She was a very hard worker and checking the pool area, checking the small gym, taking down the umbrellas and working in the office. She was always ready with some suggestions of Restaurants, etc. The decor in the hallways is very fun and interesting to look at. read more

This is our fav place to stay in Cottonwood! The rooms are beautifully decorated, very hip and modern. The restaurant has excellent food and a relaxed homey vibe. The hotel decor is so cool and interesting. Love the fire pit! But the best part is that it's right next to the best hilltop view winery! You take the tram up! We had the best time here at The Tavern Hotel and so did our new little pup Oliver! Everyone has been extremely friendly from check in to check out. The room was perfect for our pup and it was so cozy and welcoming! They even left our little guy a goodie bag filled with treats! Its decorated so cute too. It has a queen bed that we found to be on the firm side and the pillows were so fluffy and so comfy! Also has a nice size tv you can watch from the bed along with a mini fridge! Pretty much has everything you need for your vacation with a pet! The private yard outside was great and the second my pup got out there he went into zoomies mode he was having so much fun! I have mixed feelings about this place. Kind of feeling salty about paying a high price for what was advertised as a "deluxe king with a view". Especially since it looked like Expedia was offering the same room, the morning of our checkin, for about $65 less. The view was not a view, just a street with commercial vehicles parked along it. We were right next to the ice machine, help-staff supply room, vending and checkin lobby so it seemed a bit busy. But as time went on. I appreciated how lovely the place was. Charming decor in every detail. Delightfully helpful staff. And I have to admit that they let us check in several hours before the stated checkin time. Bed was fussy... lots of pillows. The shower was AMAZING. The place smelled like heaven. read more

Came here for my birthday weekend with my boyfriend. The front desk staff is friendly and answered all my questions professionally. I called ahead to ask questions. We added the sip and stay package which is a great deal, tasting at 3 tasting rooms, GC to Nick, welcome cocktail at The Tavern Grill, and breakfast across the street from the hotel. The rooms were modern and clean. The showers were walk in and amazing. Can't wait to stay there again. read more

Nice place, easy parking, fast check-in. I came around 1 pm, official check-in time was 4 pm. They immediately found me a different room that was ready, and checked me in. Front desk attendant was very friendly, gave great suggestions on local restaurants and wineries, gave a voucher for three local wine bars. Rooms were very clean and updated. Five stars! We will definitely stay at the Tavern Hotel again. * Beautiful * Clean * Friendly * Quiet *** Three minor issues. 1. The shower doesn't have a curtain or glass door. There's just a partial wall. We're going to bring a cheap shower curtain and tension rod the next time we stay there. 2. The rooms have a vestibule with shelves and racks on one side. The hotel supplies wooden hangers. When you open the door to your room for the first time, it bumps up against the hangers which can be quite startling. We ended up just shoving the hangers in a dresser drawer. We stayed in room 109. 3. The buttons / icons on the air conditioner's remote don't match up to what's posted on the instruction sheet. If you want to change the temperature or fan speed, it's just a matter of trial and error. It's a great place to stay. My next review is for the Tavern Grill which is right in front of the hotel. They have excellent food and drinks. read more

We have stayed here on a number of occasions and stayed in virtually every room to include the cottages and penthouses. This place is impeccable and the staff are amazing. The old manager, Gregory was amazing and on top of his game all the time. The staff their now are great as well!!! The rooms are always clean, fresh and full of all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The suites over the two restaurants are specially fun, as we stayed with friends. read more

My wife and I did a weekend getaway to Cottonwood AZ and picked this boutique hotel as our base of operations so to speak. It is located in Old Town Cottonwood along Main Street. Check in is at 4:00 pm. The hotel is a unique blend of great sized rooms, and private bungalows on the property. We reserved a Deluxe King room. Check-in was quick and easy. Front desk was manned by two friendly young guys. They gave us our room's swipe cards plus discount cards to local eateries like Nic's Italian Steak and Crab, Crema Cafe , and the Tavern Grille. All within a block walk Our room was on the 2nd floor. There is an elevator so don't worry about dragging your bags up stairs. Very convenient. Since it was my wife's birthday weekend I added an extra surprise touch. The hotel offers a "Date Night Package." It contains a bottle of Champagne on ice, a box of Gayle's Chocolates and rose petals scattered on the floor and the bed was decorated with towel shaped hearts and rosebuds and petals. Travis , from the front desk, told me to let my wife go first into the room. Well, her reaction was beyond great and started our stay really well. The Tavern Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. It has a pool, perfectly centralized location to Sedona or Jerome and a wonderful staff. Highly recommend it. We're going to come back. read more

This is my favorite hotel. From The Wynn to The Pallazo, which are fabulous! The Tavern is still #1 in my top 3. We have stayed in the penthouse multiple times, the place previously above Bocce, the regular rooms, the boutique hotel suites, and this time the cottages. It was awesome! Gregory was fantastic is missed , but I'm happy to say the new management was equally gracious and professional. One of the things most important to me is cleanliness and a high level of service and the Tavern Hotel always delivers. There is such great attention to detail in all the rooms. We picked this hotel due to the train ticket/hotel stay promo they were running which saved us about $100 than doing each separately! Super friendly customer service, easy check in and parking, they held our bags while we went on the train and put them in our room once it was ready. What a wonderful experience. The hotel was built in 2011 and is quite lovely. The front staff is helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The room amenities are great: Keurig, water, good TV, comfortable bed, sound machine and plenty of USB connections. The room was cleaned and straightened each day. Ample parking. Nice little balcony on the main Street side that overlooks the parking lot, but plenty of vista beyond that. Nice firetable, room to sit utside and play cards. They have a pool and gym but we did not take the time to use either. Our friends "think" they saw a ghost in their room. We have an explanation but we're all going with the ghost story. Great place to stay. Plenty of wine tasting rooms and restaurants within walking distance. Purchase the Sip and Stay package if it's available. A great bargain. read more

They were able to accommodate the amazing thing as they you a free voucher for a drink at the and a free voucher for a Drink, and a pastry at Creama. The dinner at the restaurant was superb. I don't want to overuse the word adorable, but honestly everything about this hotel is ADORABLE. Check out the pictures! They have done a great job of decorating, providing quiet, clean rooms, and having some nice outdoor areas to visit, play cards, or to just have a drink. The rooms have balconies and they have placed comfortable bright yellow adirondack chairs on each of them. So, that is were the adorableness starts. Check in was easy and friendly- they provide free water bottles in the reception area, which is appreciated. Our room was $250/night, and this includes free water bottles, 2 welcome drinks at The Tavern Grill, and free continental breakfasts. They notified us in advance that the restaurants would not be open for Easter and that they were going to accommodate us with a breakfast basket. Can this hotel be in all of the cities/towns I travel to? Rooms are modern and spacious. They have all of the normal amenities like coffee machines and ironing boards. They also include a nice guide to the area. And for the really important stuff- the rooms could not have been cleaner and we had peaceful sleeps in a very comfy bed. We did not hear our neighbors at all. They have a small pool in the back and they also offer little cabins, although I am not sure of the cost of those. We will be back! read more

The BEST dog friendly hotel I've ever stayed at. The staff was amazing.. we were able to charge our hybrid for free. The local pet store leaves a doggie gift bag in the room. The dog room has a slider or to a private Courtyard for my dog to do good business. The pool is beautiful.. the hotel is right across from the beautiful Merkins Vineyards. Overall a 10 out of 10. Will def. Be back. Oh and they give you coupons for free drinks at the tavern across the parking lot and coupons for free coffee and pastries at Crema on Main Street in the morning. read more

This boutique hotel remembered every detail. The rooms have everything you would need on vacation . They were cutely decorated and very clean. They had fire pits, a small exercise room and pool. Outside chairs to sit and enjoy the weather were everywhere . The hotel was within walking distance to literally everyplace in old town . This hotel had so many added amenities . It really made this hotel feel different from a chain hotel and I now understand why people would choose independently owned hotels. The ambience enveloped the entire space. The huge walk in shower beautifully tiled was a great added touch too. We absolutely loved our stay . We will be back next year ! We want to try one of their cottages ) read more

we stayed 2 nights in one of the pet friendly free standing building. check in was fast and smooth. the parking was close by the unit. the space was decorated very cute and functional. the shower pressure was fantastic and they use Sand and Stone products. the bed was slightly firm and the pillows were very soft. would be nice if a more substantial one was provided. i think a good upgrade would be offer streaming services instead of DirecTV . we bought the sip and stroll package and all the wineries and restaurants were very good and had excellent service. we bought a s'more's package at the front desk and the attendant set up our own private heat source to make them. they have a Nespresso machine in the lobby which was wonderful to have each morning. this was our 2nd stay at the hotel and we love to get away to Cottonwood and the surrounding areas. read more

I can't believe I didn't post a review earlier. We stayed two weeks ago in the DogHouse and it was amazing. The little house was perfect for us both and our little pup as well. We loved the location, the cleanliness, the little turfed back yard, and all the amenities that came with a stay here. This is not the first time we've stayed here. What an absolutely beautiful hotel. Very well decorated. Room was very clean. I did see housekeeping cleaning some rooms. They really took care to make sure everything was clean.
