    Queen Bed - comfy pillows!

We had the best time here at The Tavern Hotel and so did our new little pup Oliver! Everyone has been extremely friendly from check in to check out. The room was perfect for our pup and it was so cozy and welcoming! They even left our little guy a goodie bag filled with treats! Its decorated so cute too. It has a queen bed that we found to be on the firm side and the pillows were so fluffy and so comfy! Also has a nice size tv you can watch from the bed along with a mini fridge! Pretty much has everything you need for your vacation with a pet! The private yard outside was great and the second my pup got out there he went into zoomies mode he was having so much fun! Highly recommend this hotel for everyone!

I have mixed feelings about this place. Kind of feeling salty about paying a high price for what was advertised as a "deluxe king with a view". Especially since it looked like Expedia was offering the same room, the morning of our checkin, for about $65 less. The view was not a view, just a street with commercial vehicles parked along it. We were right next to the ice machine, help-staff supply room, vending and checkin lobby so it seemed a bit busy. But as time went on. I appreciated how lovely the place was. Charming decor in every detail. Delightfully helpful staff. And I have to admit that they let us check in several hours before the stated checkin time. Bed was fussy... lots of pillows. The shower was AMAZING. The place smelled like heaven.

Five stars! We will definitely stay at the Tavern Hotel again. * Beautiful * Clean * Friendly * Quiet *** Three minor issues. 1. The shower doesn't have a curtain or glass door. There's just a partial wall. We're going to bring a cheap shower curtain and tension rod the next time we stay there. 2. The rooms have a vestibule with shelves and racks on one side. The hotel supplies wooden hangers. When you open the door to your room for the first time, it bumps up against the hangers which can be quite startling. We ended up just shoving the hangers in a dresser drawer. We stayed in room 109. 3. The buttons / icons on the air conditioner's remote don't match up to what's posted on the instruction sheet. If you want to change the temperature or fan speed, it's just a matter of trial and error. It's a great place to stay. My next review is for the Tavern Grill which is right in front of the hotel. They have excellent food and drinks.

From check-in to check-out we had an amazing experience and can't wait to be back. Ample parking, friendly employees, and it's spotless. Love that it's non-smoking. Within walking distance of so many great restaurants and shops. We'll visit again soon!!

This is my favorite hotel. From The Wynn to The Pallazo, which are fabulous! The Tavern is still #1 in my top 3. We have stayed in the penthouse multiple times, the place previously above Bocce, the regular rooms, the boutique hotel suites, and this time the cottages. It was awesome! Gregory was fantastic is missed , but I'm happy to say the new management was equally gracious and professional. One of the things most important to me is cleanliness and a high level of service and the Tavern Hotel always delivers. There is such great attention to detail in all the rooms. I highly recommend visiting.

Stayed with the date night package, roses, champagne, and great views. Cute boutique hotel. Enjoyed the patio with the of the Merkin Vineyards.

Great place. Great staff. Large modern room. Walking distance to all shops and restaurants. Short drive to Jerome. Will come back again.

Having the opportunity to regularly stay over many accommodations across and occasionally outside the country, not a professional hotel reviewer by any means, and not a regular business traveler - but as a primarily pleasure and needs wanderer, I have developed as what I believe is my concise method for scoring the worthiness of each hotel visited. My criteria are as follows and the results are: 1) ease of access to and from public or private ground transportation [Score: 4.5 ]; 2) convenient and safe parking [Score : 3.5 ]; 3) access, accuracy and convenience of check in and check out [Score: 4.5 ]; 4) atmosphere, ambience, public facilities, lounging areas and access to an office center and Wi-Fi access [Score: 4.0 ]; 5) overall customer service - including but not limited to Hospitality, Support Services, Concierge knowledge, communication, attitude and demeanor of staff [Score: 4.0 ]; 6) quality, cleanliness, value, convenience, amenities (i.e., ironing board, iron, TV, charging access, phone, et.al.) and comfort of rooms, beds, room safe and/or valet services [Score: 3.5 ]; Taking all the aforementioned categories in a scale of 1 star to 5 stars with 1 being the worst and 5 being the best a hotel can be! This hotel rates a: 4.6. A well above average in our book! Most positive points at this hotel are: access to local activities, the downtown areas, overall cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere. Most negative points found here are: First: (and I must emphasize it was our second visit only) where someone in parking lot taking up 3 car spaces while fixing a vehicle up on jack stands during a full day, and late into the night. Second: Suite 106's floor appears not to have been mopped in forever! And third: Noisy folks in floor above us seemed to be jumping around til well after midnight - not making for a relaxing sleep. Don't get us wrong, we are still fans of the Pines. My price to value to overall assessment is good.

I couldn't sleep the entire night due to scratching. So I checked the floor with my hand and it was dirty. This means the room hadn't been swept. The beds weren't made well. It seemed the sheets hadn't been changed at all. Then I saw a small bug crawling in my bed on the 2nd nite. I asked to be given another room the 2nd morning. Flea bites are incredibly painful with burning and unstoppable itching for at least 72 hours. I put on alcohol and took an antihistamine but I couldn't stop scratching my swollen hand and fingers. The front staff and manager were gaslighting me the whole time. They had absolutely no compassion bc I had complained about the room which they decided to translate as rude. What was rude was their unprofessional way of dealing with repeat customers who realized they had just slept on a bed full of fleas from who knows where carrying who knows what. I've been traveling for the past year visiting motels, hotels, and air Bnb's and have had a wonderful time everywhere. I even had a decent time when I was there the month before for 3 days. I hope this one awful experience doesn't happen to anyone else which is why I'm posting my one and only negative review, something I prefer not to do. The manager and front desk woman were colluding to make it look like it was my fault or that I was making it up that the floor was dirty and that I had gotten bit even though I showed them my hands. I had to spend a couple of hours doing laundry to be sure fleas weren't lingering on a day that I had many errands to do and when exhausted from not sleeping well due to the scratching. I got nothing done the whole day but the laundry. The sour faced woman at front desk stirred up trouble at every turn making it look like I was to blame for their negligence. She got the manager to join in. Really stupid duo. This is so not the way to treat an exhausted guest who had to deal with flea bites at the ineptitude of their own staff. It might be that Cottonwood, AZ is not a great place to stay in general. Though the restaurant is very good, I do not recommend to book a hotel that puts people without their consent into rooms where animals with fleas can sleep on the beds and, then refuse to recognize the negligence of their staff. Honestly, I don't know which is worse, the flea bites, lost night of sleep, loss of a day of activity, or the hostility and gaslighting from the staff. I was so happy to leave.
