He said the swing overall looked good and corrected just a few things. He went over everything he recommended, took before and after video, and showed me where I needed corrections in the before video, and where I made the corrections in the after video. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to go to the range after the lesson. However, I played for the first time since the lesson yesterday, and I saw a huge difference in my game. I'm not a great golfer, but I had several pars and took about 6 strokes off of my normal score. I still have a long way to go but I would tell you that Frank is a great teacher and can help. If I can find time to play more golf, I will definitely come back to him for lessons.

We did some drills, and before long, I was hitting straight shots consistently. With time left in the lesson, we were also able to work on my long irons and chipping. Got a pair of FJ men's small because there were no women's socks. Employees at the desk were kind and helpful. Very energetic. They offered me a cup for water but I had my own, and I filled it at the orange Gatorade style cooler just outside of the office. There is a large sign for the bathrooms which leads to a series of port o pottys. No indoor bathrooms. They were indeed not smelly and decently clean. But no sink??? Grabbed a cart and headed to my car to load up. The started must've been on a break but I heard the two guys inside checking in for the same tee time as mine. We paired up on hole 1 and waited for the group ahead of us to clear. The carts are basic- no gps. There is a cooler with no ice. No tees. No towel. Just a Bluetooth speaker. Distances on the card led me to the red tees. The guys played from the white. The course was in pretty good shape. Some areas had bald fairways. But for $35 I really cannot complain. Greens were in great shape and so were the sand traps which unfortunately I found myself in more than once. Nice layout. Lots of nature. Slow pace. In 1:15, I made it to the green on 6, but had to go pick up mom. I excused myself around the groups ahead of us and the guys gave me a credit for $18 (future 9 hole). They yelled at a guy to come help me unload at my car and return the cart for me but I declined. My car was very close. Overall I'd say very enthusiastic and helpful service. Nice course. Range is getting an upgrade and will be ready soon. I will come back if I'm in the area, but I'd hope to go when it's not busy. Playing slow at 2:45pm in August is a sure fire way to get sunburned. And it wasn't the group ahead of us. There was a group ahead of them and ahead of them etc. it's just the way it is sometimes.

You won't regret it! The long version: My father + I have been golfing together since I was super young. (He secretly hoped for me to be the next Michelle Wie, pfft) But it was always casual and my father has always been my "coach". Fast forward to now, after a longggg hiatus I'm now in my late twenties and about to move to the Carolinas where there is a myriad of golf courses (like Florida). I really wanted to be more than just "decent" or "okay" and hold my own out there. Lets just say that I wanted to graduate from schooling everyone at Mini Golf and get ready for the Big Leagues ;D That's where Mike Simmons comes in. My father found Mike and we immediately set lessons together as a Father-Daughter activity together before I move away. We bought a package from Mike that includes 6 Lessons and round of Golf on the course. Despite having some experience and my father being his own self proclaimed guru (with clubs straight from 1970s and never updated, mind you) Mike is able to break down the fundamentals of the game in a very thorough and concrete way. (And convinced my father to update his clubs! haha) Our lessons consisted of learning all aspects of the game. History, foundation, long range, short game. And all the little details in between from your stance, how to properly how the club, lining your shot. Nothing is missed. At times it may seem like information overload but once you hit that sweet shot you'll have that "Ah-ha!" moment that only Mike could provide. If I wasn't leaving in a couple of months I would definitely get more lessons from him. A++
