Love the Sunday sit down dinner style service and pass the dish. Plenty of food to go around and you will definitely not leave hungry!! If you run out ask for more, that's a compliment. The fried shrimp was amazing along with all the veggies, salad & biscuits. The charm of the old house takes you back in time and is so southern.

The cold prime rib

Everything tasted like it came out of a bag or a box. Prime rib came out cold and well done. Second one came out NO FLAVOR and well/medium well. We barely ate any of our food, paid and left. They bring out tiny portions of the sides to "share" with the intent that they can bring you more. Honestly it was an awful experience. My boyfriend did enjoy his chicken, but that's the nicest thing you'll get out of me.

This is the easiest 5 star review I've written in a long time. Halfway between Augusta and Savannah we got hungry. Being lifetime Allman Brothers fans, we were in Statesboro with only Yelp to lead us through our Statesboro Blues. The Beaver House is a historic Victorian style inn and restaurant. It's showing it's age like a classic elegant lady. Lots of faded floral and wall sconces along with furniture from back in the day. We quickly learned that the menu changes daily and there is only one order available which is everything listed on the board. For lunch, the price is $7.99 per person and as the board reads they "consider it a compliment to serve you seconds". For our lunch we were able to enjoy: Southern Fried Chicken Shrimp & Sausage Jambalaya Green Beans Rice & Gravy Field Peas with Snaps Potatoes Au Gratin Macaroni Slaw Biscuits Everything is served at one time on antique flatware. Add in an iced tea and a Peach Cobbler for dessert. What more could a person want??? The portions are all properly sized such that we are not feeling like we ate too much. Our server Jaime was so gracious and attentive. We've been traveling for a few weeks now and eating well the entire time. This is one of the most special meals. I'm going to tell our friends who so graciously hosted us for the past week that they will need to stop here for a meal.

This place is one of a kind in Statesboro. The restaurant is located in what seems to be an old victorian style house that has been turn into a bed & breakfast inn, but you can dine in the restaurant without being a guest at the inn. The place has a very southern style atmosphere. You are immediately greeted by one of the friendly staff where they will take you to your table. The tables are all in different rooms of the inn. The menu is quite simple. You get two meat items along with 4 or 5 side dishes. You can also get seconds if you like, all in one low price of $7.99. The menu change daily. You can call ahead to get the menu for the day because you don't really get to pick what you get to eat. The portion size is quite small, but as the waitress explained to us, you can always get seconds. I think it is quite a good deal for the price. At the time that my friend and I went, the menu consisted of slice prime rib and pieces of chicken. The sides are green beans, mash potatoes and gravy, mac & cheese, broccoli, biscuits, and some type of other beans. We also ordered brownies with ice cream and pecan pie with ice cream for desserts. The desserts were super delicious. Everything is home made and totally worth it. I will definitely go back here. I think that this place is perfect for students who miss home cooking.

The boarding house special. Family style

We promptly got sat by the lovely staff working. We sat outside, I ordered an Aperol spritz and my husband got a Bloody Mary. All of our drinks were delicious, reasonably priced. The Bloody Mary wasn't spicy (although a table next to us was complaining it was...), and the Hugo spritz was SO refreshing! They for the fresh mint from their herbs out front! Only complaint was we prefer our espresso martinis to be mostly espresso heavy, and this one was more cream heavy. We ordered the Brussels, country breakfast (subbed cheese grits instead of pancakes because we're gluten free) and got a side of fresh fruit. It was so much food. We didn't finish it all! The grits were nicely seasoned and cheesy. Brussels were super crispy and not drenched in grease or sauce. Eggs were nice and salty, potatoes were fried nicely. Everything was great. We would love to come back for lunch or dinner - especially happy hour. It wasn't too loud and we felt there was plenty of seating.

The food is more or less what you would expect. The service is questionable. When the waitress…read morestarts to suggest changes to your order, ie, salad instead of fries, more chips & salsa - they should also tell you that there is a charge for it. I had a mushroom cheese quesadillas & it came with chips & salsa. Since the person I was with was also eating the chips & salsa I asked for more. No problem until we got the bill. The "suggestions" cost extra, and we were charged for the additional chips and salsa. If that's their policy okay, but please let the diners know ahead of time. Also, my quesadilla consisted of 3 pieces. Every other place I've ordered one there were 6 pieces & I took 3 home for the next day. Also, I'm considered tiny - 4'11", about 108# & 3 pieces was not enough food.

Most recent trip a lady at the GSU football game recommended it. Me and my two alumni buds opted to check out. It has a decent outdoor area and an interior that reminds me of Taco Mac. Atmosphere was good and our server was great. The Buffalo chicken artichoke dip with points was the only thing I enjoyed food-wise. The fried green tomatoes weren't really seasoned and the tequila lime chicken sammie wasn't anything to write about. Ordinary. I guess if you're a college student, this place will suffice for price, food proportions and atmosphere. I do like it's not a chain and always want to support local. Average, however. Maybe I need to try a different menu item ...
