I've been meaning to visit this bakery since it opened, but never had the opportunity until now…read more I finally got the chance when I dropped my truck off across the street at Les Schwab's. I checked out Noona's offerings and decided on a pineapple turnover and a Red Bean pastry. To be honest I chose both because I have never eaten either one before. Red Bean Cakes are an East Asian treat made from red bean paste and wrapped in a soft dough. They symbolize luck, prosperity, and ancestral respect. When you visit, they have little take away boxes and serving tongs that you use to place your orders into the box. Not everything is available for self selection. Some of the items are behind a glass display case. The Red Bean Cakes was smooth and silky with a nice soft pillowy dough around it. I took a few bites while sitting at the outside table and the proprietor asked me if I would like her to warm it up. I agreed and a few seconds later she was returning with my warmed bean cake. Maybe I have simple tastes, but I think I preferred the bean cake room temperature. Both ways were delicious, I just liked it a little better before it was warmed. The pineapple turnover was a joy to eat. I love pineapple and was not disappointed with this turnover! The dough was perfectly flaky the way turnovers should be and the pineapple filling was wonderful!

This might just be my favorite grocery store in existence…read more Everything I could ever need is in between this four wall, two story building. This co-op in Skagit is filled with healthy alternatives, fresh produce, and even a juice/coffee/snack bar serving up some delicious bites. I found a number of local products and beers to buy from the grocery side, and a mushroom sandwich. I cannot properly describe the deliciousness of this sandwich - you just had to be there. I also loved that the co-op's second story is filled with the most unique home and gift items you'll find. Everything is sustainable first, and they even have a decent book selection. Couldn't imagine a better place to spend my Saturday, just wish I lived closer so I could visit every weekend.

It's a neat grocery store with fresh build-your-own sandwich options, bakery treats, gifts and trinkets, wines, and a lot more. We ordered sandwiches from the kiosk where it prints a ticket to bring to the counter. You can purchase other items with your sandwich, too. We had ordered two pineapple conchas from the dessert case for a post-lunch dessert. The veggies on the sandwich were so fresh it hit the spot for a light midafternoon meal. There is an upstairs seating area, it's really quiet and private. After we ate our lunch, we looked at some trinkets in the gift shop that's upstairs too. It truly has it all!

Their salads are freaking GIANORMOUS. Worth every penny. Get them as a wrap add some protein and have 2 meals for the price of one. Just don't tell them if you want to split a salad. For some weird reason they charge extra for that. But other than that one minor thing. If you want a healthy lunch or dinner this is the place.

I always encouraged people to patronize any of the three locations. I bragged on the quality, the quantity, and the deliciousness. After my experience yesterday never again! I have noticed that for the last couple of years the portions have gotten smaller and the prices have gone up. Granted, prices have gone up on everything, not just at this restaurant. So that part is understandable. I'm not mad about that. What I'm extremely frustrated about, i'm actually angry, is that they served me a salad with barely any meat on it. I got the ruben salad last night through the drive up. When she handed me the bag out the window, it literally felt like a feather. When I got home, it was basically all lettuce, a tiny bit of saurkraut, some croutons, my garlic deal dressing, and a very a thin slice of the corned beef or whatever the meat was supposed to be. Literally, they give me a salad with a piece of meat smaller than the length and width of my pinky finger. That bowl of lettuce cost me sixteen dollars plus my tip. Yeah I'm angry about it. It is very rare for me to get angry. Getting home in Kingston, expecting to have an awesome dinner, and having this after I paid that much. Infuriating. I will give them credit for having the nicest crew. They have awesome customer service at the drive up, thus the 2 stars this time. The two stars are for the employees, otherwise this particular experience would be a negative or zero star.
