Across from our stay is a great coffee shop with a harbor view. Excellent Coffee and muffins.

Tried this little coffee shop on our first visit to Port Townsend. My wife had a drip coffee and I had an Americano. Both of them were very good and well brewed. . We split a good sized scone, which was delicious.. They're outside seating was so nice with beautiful views We hope to return

I had normal Latte with hazelnut flavour. I think I had one the best coffee. Must recommend this place to my friends and family. From now this is my first stop in Port Townsend

Cute coffee shop with great views! We stopped in for a beverage before exploring Port Townsend. Staff was friendly and welcoming, service was fast and there was plenty of available seating. The food options looked delicious.

The caffè arancia is my favorite! The barista recommended it on my first visit and it was ~pure bliss.~ I've been here a few times just for coffee while visiting Port Townsend and it's clearly a local favorite, so be prepared for a bit of a wait. With friendly staff and delicious coffee, it's definitely worth a visit; I'd recommend!

A beautiful venue with an amazing view, friendly staff, lots of pastry options, fair price. The coffee was just alright for me but my coffee order is pretty boring - I always just get two espresso shots with 2 oz of hot water (Italiano). As soon as I ordered I noticed that they had an interesting pour-over equipment. If I do come back here, I will definitely try the pour-over and hopefully I can pick out my own coffee beans from their offerings. They sell a small selection of used latte saucers for 8 bucks! It doesn't come with a coaster but it didn't matter. I had to pick one up. Check out my photo of the view from this spot. Simply priceless especially on a beautiful day like yesterday!

Huge find! We were vacationing from Las Vegas and were actually kind of bummed at the general lack of single origin coffee options around Seattle. This place offers a solid variety of single origin beans that they sell as "drip coffee" but each order is essentially a pour over on a 4 at a time pour system. I opted for the Brazilian and my wife got Sumatran. They offer 8/12/16 ounce sizes and the cost ranges from $3.75 to $5. We waited for perhaps 5-10 minutes on a Monday morning. There are bar and table seating options inside and a smattering of tables outside as well. Good view of the water wherever you pick! One possible area for growth would be to offer actual coffee cups rather than just the paper options. It looked like a few locals perhaps brought their own.

Best coffee shop for days you don't wanna be outside but kinda do. Perfect water views but insulated from it all. Great pastries, tea, and coffee alike. Small town feel (because well...it is), great spot to work or read or date or be alone. Love it here.

I would do 4.5/5 stars. Service was super friendly, prices were reasonable/low, lots of options in terms of pastries and savory food. Opted for the sausage and onion quiche (takes 10 mins to warm up), cinnamon walnut coffee cake and loop d' loop (one of the house roasts) iced coffee. Quiche was light and had a great texture and wasn't too overpowering (hit it with the yellow bird hot sauce to elevate it), cake was good but nothing to write home about, coffee was amazing. Tried the salmon quiche and walnut brownie (super fudge-y).

My husband and I had a recent trip to Port Townsend and went to this coffee shop twice. Coffee was amazing! Between the two visits we had a sampling of items, including cherry almond scone, bran muffin, spinach quiche, and a ham, cheese croissant and the bagels which they claim come from Manhattan. All pretty decent, other than the bagels. Even if true that they are from NY, they weren't great. View is awesome and you need to get there early as locals love the place (not surprising). Overall good.

    Great food menu too!

This is my absolute favorite place to go for coffee when I'm in PT! Love the coffee, love the ambiance and views, and love the service.

Better Living Through Coffee is a well established indie cafe with a strong community base located in Port Townsend's downtown core. I've stopped in three times: once a long time ago pre-Yelp, second time with The Homie seated at the counter with our beverages (8/24/19), and most recently on a spontaneous visit to the Kitsap & Olympic Peninsulas (5/19/24). Seems the sweet spot is to stop in earlier in the morning before the onslaught of day trippers, especially during the weekends. I drove leisurely via the main exit or via Chimacum/Quilcene exit. Also, arriving earlier there's much better chance of finding street parking and/or catching the ferry to Whidbey Island. Better Living Through Coffee has the prime location of being adjacent to a public outdoor plaza and pocket beach access. Their cafe also has outdoor and indoor seating with waterfront views. Great selection of merch, cafe beverages, and scratch baked goods. Love that their pastry cases are always well stocked with a variety of enticing choices. They've upgraded to a POS system at the front counter, so I relinquished my former stamp card and joined the system to accrue points. Friendly counter folks that are able to deal with what seems to be a never ending line. Nice to see this is a spot where convos and community gatherings rule, only one laptop seen. I was able to take in the vibe and stay awhile at my window seat two top. I enjoyed a 12oz mocha...would have preferred a 16oz but that had 4 shots of espresso, 2 is just fine for me. I tried a slice each of the sausage & pepper quiche and carrot cake. The quiche was freshly cut and warmed up...I just have to remember to let it cool a bit before that first molten bite. As my first meal of the day, all three items did the job and hit the spot. Having a lovely waterfront view and warmth from the sunshine streaming through was also top notch. Always a terrific detour!

Love the coffee, chai and quiche. The concept of pour overs with your choice of brews is clever! Their chai is fantastic!

Cool little Mexican restaurant in downtown Port Townsend. Old town cafe vibe with Mexican cuisine…read morethat uses some local PNW sourced ingredients. Both tacos we had were fantastic, and the chips and guacamole were great too. The tortilla chips were warm and tasty so I assume that they prep them on site. My daughter loved the horchata too. A great place to stop in when in town or traveling through.

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW IF YOURE A TOURIST OR SOMEONE FROM OUT OF TOWN:…read more Do not visit this restaurant with the expectation in mind that it is adjacent to authentic, flavorful Mexican food you may have had before. This was one of the most bland and tasteless renditions of "Mexican" food that has ever graced my taste buds. I've had better treatment to my mouth from Taco Bell For how expensive these entrees were, I was expecting much more from the flavor department. Like I am genuinely baffled about how non-existent the flavor was. I ordered the Mole Rojo Con Pollo, and I received the most pathetic excuse for a molé I've ever had. No Flavor whatsoever. Black beans and white or brown rice (couldn't tell but it was gross, and seriously no Mexican rice?!). I'm a big dude and always am a part of the clean plate club, but this meal was such an utter disappointment that I didn't even finish more than half of it. The saving grace of this place is their service staff. Probably the best service I've ever received at a sit down restaurant, nicest people. My honest and whole-heartedly genuine recommendation to "La Cocina": fire the whole kitchen staff, or scrap the menu and start from scratch.
