The ribs fell off the bones, the chicken was crispy and juicy, and the roasted plantains were amazing. And the rice was fantastic. As the other reviews point out, they do not speak English. Also, what no one else mentioned was that there are no menus or prices listed anywhere. So after ordering 1 lb of ribs, 1/2 chicken, 6 plantains, a large order of rice and 4 drinks, I was surprised when it cost only $18. Awesome! read more

My brother and I stopped here after getting our rental car down the street. The place is open 24 hours a day! Any BBQ that is open that much needs 4 stars simply on that premise. The prices here are fair, the food is very nice. We had the lechon, the short ribs, the chicken, and some rice with pigeon peas. All of it tasted very good except for the short ribs, which were a bit too fatty and lack some seasoning. The down side...the line is usually long, even at midnight. That being said, it moves rather fast and it is worth the short wait. I would come back again if I were in the area. read more

It's always a gamble when you eat as a tourist. This place though, was super legit. While the wait was long (even though there wasn't even a line at the time), it was worth it. All the meats were fall off the bone. The rice was delicious. Plantains were delicious. Yuca and onions were amazing! Went to Bebo's while on a work trip to Puerto Rico. There is an extensive menu. It is a no frills place and you can find a lot of locals. Sampled various Puerto Rican dishes all for a great price. At night, it can get pretty busy but I enjoyed my work group dinner. read more

One word to describe the food here is just...WOW!!! The flavor of the roasted pork and the rostisiree chicken are to die for. Reason for the 4 star was that they didnt have some of the items we ordered. They ran out of rice so we had to settle for their fried plantains and yucca. Saw this place off the side of the road, and was intrigued. As I pulled up, noticed it had a HUGE crowd and was somewhat dismayed at the wait time, but excited that the food should be good enough to have that many people standing in line for so long. It took a while to get through the line, so I had time to ask a local about the ordering process, since there were no signs or prices anywhere. He pointed out rice with pigeon peas, yukka, fried sweet potato, tostones, sweet plantain, chicken, lechon (pork), pork ribs, blood sausage, and chicken sausage. Ordered a sample of everything but the sausage with four drinks for under $30. On a weird note, there was a cat wandering through the benches of the outdoor seating...It seemed well behaved, but odd and out of place. Back to the food review-Everything was REALLY good-some of the best chicken and ribs I've EVER had (which is saying something), though the pork was a bit over cooked. On our trip to PR 2 years ago, we were told by a friend we needed to try the food. OMG! we ate here 4 times on that trip. It is a lil in the hood, no fancy frills at all....pretty long line but the most delicious Puerto Rican traditional foods I have ever had. we are going back to PR this summer and we are bringing the kids and best beileve they already got this on the agenda daily because we couldn't stop talking about it. This is a wonderful place to get introduced to the true Puerto Rico, but IT IS NOT for the faint of heart mainlanders. If you want one of the scrubbed clean resort places don't come here or any other local establishment. Stay on the touristy side of San Juan. If you are adventurous, drive straight here when you get off the plane. It is relatively close to the airport. And it is easy to find, look for the McDonald's with the short line. Bebo's is the place next door with a line around the corner. We waited at least 1/2 hour to place our order and I learned right away that drinking beer on the island is for hydration not a buzz. We order the standard pork, chicken, beans, rice, and fried bananas. Each was a step above anything we had on our flight to the island. The pork was succulent and juicy with the beans and rice a great staple food. The standout for me was the chicken, deeply flavorful and juicy. One of our party liked it so much, they pick up a to go box of it for the flight home. Recommendations: 1. Bring cash and plan on a long wait. 2. Don't let the looks of the place fool you or intimate you. It is worth the wait. 3. Having someone that speak Spanish is helpful. 4. Ok, so this place gets crowded and lines are long, but don't let that turn you away! There is no menu, but you can see the food through the glass. If you don't speak Spanish, you will have to figure it out at least with a few Spanish words. My suggestion, tell them what meats you want and for how many people. We fed our family of 4 for like $30 and had 2 containers of left overs! We ordered ribs, chicken, tostones and rice and pigeon peas. Everything was delicious! The rice was the bomb!
