Heard great things about Bebo's cafe so I made sure to stop by while I was in Puerto Rico. There was a bit of a wait but it moved pretty quickly. I ordered the Pernil al Horno with Arroz mamposteo. I also ordered a side of plantains. Everything was absolutely delicious. The rice was extremely flavorful and so was the pork. I am a sucker for plantains and it was perfect. This meal was so comforting and I would give it a 10/10. Stop by Bebo's Cafe ASAP!

SO good! Traditional boricua food, made in house, and you can taste it's homemade. Would go back a million times. Service is good, though it gets super busy, so it might be slow and that's totally okay. It feels like you're eating at abuelas house. Good ambiance!

We ate at both Bebo's and Los Piños -- our two attempts at typical PR food. Both errr fine, but Bebo's was our favorite of the two. It has a small parking lot in the back, which was a huge plus. Service was nice and our waitress was truly bilingual-- able to help us understand nuances of between the Spanish we use in California and Spanish in PR. The mofongo was really good -- better than any time we had it in the past or during the rest of our trip. The ropa vieja was good, but standard. My son had the churrasco (skirt steak) and it was excellent. We ordered sides of amarillos (sweet plantains) and they were the best ones we had the trip -- soft, juicy, with caramelized exterior. We wanted tres leches for dessert, but it sold was sold out. If you only had one "typical" PR dinner, I would suggest Bebo's.

Everyone kept telling us we couldn't leave Puerto Rico without trying this café -- and they were absolutely right. They had a little bit of everything on the menu, and everything we ordered was delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Since we weren't familiar with some of the dishes, they took the time to explain the menu and gave us great recommendations -- and they did not disappoint! It gave me a IHOP/Denny's vibe! I ordered the pork chops and they were so flavorful and perfectly cooked. Honestly, I didn't even take any pictures... that's how good the food was. I was so hungry and so ready to eat that I completely forgot to snap a photo!

We come to Bebo's every time we visit Puerto Rico and it's always great, but not tonight. We had several Appetizers, Salchichas al Vino and Calamares Fritos. The Salchichas al Vino were delicious, but the Calamares were extremely chewy, so much that we had to return them. The waiter did his best to rectify the situation by getting us fresh ones, but although there was an improvement, they were still chewy. I wasn't that worried about the Calamares, because I had Mofongo Relleno de Camarones en Salsa Criolla coming, but sadly it was another disappointment. I didn't get that garlic punch I was expecting and even more to my surprise, it was lacking in flavor. It was Valentines Day and the place was packed, so maybe the cooks were overwhelmed, but Bebo's really missed the mark tonight.

Amazing authentic puerto rican food without the tourist price tag. The food was delicious, and came out extremely quickly. Despite how packed and busy this place always is, you can always count on your food being served quick and a great service.

We drove past Bebo's in our Lyft ride and our driver said it was very good so we decided to visit the next day. It is a great option if you want local food without the tourist price tag. The inside looks like a cafeteria but it stays busy. We were seated quickly although it seemed packed. They have a good amount of menu options and cross out what isn't available. They also have drink options that our server listed to us. To start, we ordered the lobster empanadas and sangria. The empanadas were delicious! Very tasty and fresh. The sangria however, was not great. It just tasted like juices that don't really work together. I couldn't taste the wine. We ordered the roasted pork and skirt steak. The steak was really tasty, and juicy. But the roasted pork was very dried and hard. It had some good bits in it but there were quite a few pieces that were too cooked to eat. The rice and beans were cooked very well. This is the perfect place for quick local food where you won't spend too much. But if you want a very high quality, I would choose elsewhere.

The place was super busy when we arrived and once we ordered our food took almost an hour to come out. Food was good after a long day of swimming in the sun.

This place was extremely busy! Everyone from everywhere seemed to be trying to eat here. Not just tbe tourists, but locals alike. All the food we ordered was excellent and we could hardly move afterwards. We got a smattering of everything. Mofongo, skirt steak, guisado (beef stew), and yucca balls for appetizer. Both the Pina colada and mojito were excellent as well. Our server was extremely nice and spoke English as well as Spanish. The whole feel of the place makes you feel like you stepped into a place that USED TO be a well kept secret.

Bebo's cafe was recommended by our uber driver. A favorite of locals. It would be considered down home authentic cuisine. Long lines confirm how good this place is. Service is good, most people are bilingual and can help you through the menu. Everyone around is friendly and talkative. Noisy and light atmosphere. The lights are all the way on in this place. It's bustling.

The food was great! I got a few different options for my table. We shared everything and everyone liked everything. The service was a bit slow but I also went when they were a little busy. Great place for good food by the beach. The devote and service was diner st

Nice simple place with good food. I got grilled chicken with rice and beans, and a beer. Beer was nice and cold (yay). My friend tried the pork that was good and also my other friend enjoyed his sandwich. Liked how simple the place was

I actually visited Bebo's Cafe twice during my trip to San Juan - and that says a lot for me. While incredibly busy, I was seated almost immediately during both visits. My first visit was for a late lunch, and my second visit was for a pretty late dinner. The service was amazing both times, and the vibes reminded my of my hometown of Kissimmee, Florida. I ordered their pernil con mofongo both times. It was absolutely to DIE for. We also tried a handful of their empanadas, including the crab empanada which was just out of this world. I ordered a pina colada - and for the first time ever, they asked me if I'd like it with Baileys. BAILEYS?! Listen y'all, we've been doing it all wrong. While Rum is predominant on the island, this Bailey's twist has to be their best kept secret. This is how I'm having Pina Coladas from here on out. Prices are very fair. Portions are actually a bit ridiculous, but in a good way - SO MUCH FOOD. I cannot WAIT to return to Bebo's Cafe!

The star for me was the jalapeño salsa verde--honestly one of the best salsa verdes I've ever had!The passion fruit mimosa pitcher was also great. We couldn't choose amongst all the empty tables, because staff were rude and dismissive. AC wasn't working, so we felt the humidity and heat. Ceiling fans weren't cutting it. We got the $25 wagyu burger and $20 Mallorca chicken sandwich, both of which were dry, bland, and underwhelming at best. The burger patty lacked flavor and there was no sauce or any accompaniments besides a very sad, wilted, thin slice of tomato and lettuce leaf. Pretty bad burger! The chicken sandwich was so heavily fried, we almost broke our teeth against the chicken. Insanely salty--we couldn't take more than a few bites. Felt so parched for the rest of the day. Fries were the best part of the meal--so salty and thin.

Based on ambiance I would have given it 1 star but that is the fault of the architect and designer. The 4 stars is for the food. We enjoyed the dishes and drinks that we ordered. The Meh: I liked this Cueva del mar in calle loiza but this experience was subpar. Prior to even ordering, I asked if their famous fish tacos would have the same coleslaw with their special sauce intermixed like it's been since 2007, but in recent visit on Dec 2025 was not the same. He stated he understood. When it arrived, the cole slaw was dry, not the same famous fish tacos i've been used to for years unfortunately. It was unnecessary for the waiter (male in his 50s with black ivy cap) to insist to try to prove me wrong stating that "it's always been this way and i've worked here for 15 years" when my mother and i have had these fish tacos since it opened originally in guaynabo circa ~2007. Mind you, i am bilingual and overheard the waiter talking to the kitchen. Their solution was to bring sauce on the side. My partner ate 1 fish taco, I ate none. When we left the establishment, the waiter went outside to stop my fiance. The waiter never approached me to apologize directly por el mal rato. I also found it extremely distasteful to have to overhear an employee (brunette) on her break (or otherwise) with her foul language near our toddler. We'll just have to stick to another location that treats customers better.
