One decoration fell before serving. I was so embarrassed that I did not even serve the cake that day. It went back in the frig until the next day when we cut it and realized issues with the cake itself. The vanilla cake was dry and the filing was wrong. At their request I sent an email with the issues and asked them to review and respond. No response, so I called. I am not sure who I talked to, but she said that she didn't need to respond to my email, and that they had cameras and the cake was perfect when it left the bakery and that it WAS MY FAULT. The pictures that I sent showing them what I was talking about only confirmed to them that it was my fault. I must have left it out all night for this to happen and what do I want them to do about it. Well, that was the wrong thing to say to a customer. Got me on the defensive and voices were raised. What I was looking for is not to get reimbursed; although, now after this conversation, yes; but for them to at least have some compassion and not be on the defensive and placing blame on the customer.
