Unfortunately i keep trying to give this place a chance cause it's the nearest Filipino desert place but instead they change the recipe all the time. 2 weeks ago the ensaymada was the best one I've ever had and then this week I bought another one and it tasted different and bread was more dry and it wasn't as creamy. Walked into Dessert Anatomy expecting a pastry wonderland... walked out feeling like I accidentally RSVP'd to a children's chaotic birthday party instead. Turns out all those jaw-dropping Yelp cakes are basically VIP-only.... most are special order, so the display case was giving more "snack break" than "dessert heaven." The place is tiny, and with about 10 kids running a full-volume chaos baking convention, the vibe was less cozy bakery and more "Chuck E. Cheese but with aprons and a Kitchen Aid." Not exactly the peaceful, sugar-filled escape I had imagined. I grabbed a few items anyway, slightly disappointed about the limited options and the unexpected kid frenzy. Dessert Anatomy is the place to buy cheesecakes. Ube cheesecakes were what made them popular but I was lucky enough to visit them when the owner was trying new flavors. The premade desserts were beautifully presented in the chilled display. Drinks require additional time to prepare. *Ube Cheesecake: their top seller for a reason. The filling was a perfect balance between vanilla and nuts. The crust was my favorite as it gave a salty, crunchy aspect. *Dulce De Leche Cheesecake: the dulce de leche swirl wasn't too sweet compared to the mild cream cheese. The cream on top was buttery and the combination resembled caramel popcorn. *Tiramisu Cheesecake: one of the sweeter options. There were espresso undertones but the mascarpone was the prominent element. This would suit those with a sweet palate although I would have preferred a more bitter, almost smokey counterpart. *Matcha Cheesecake: good, earthy matcha flavor without being overly sweet or powdery. The buttery crust provided a mild base. *Peach Tea: while the tea was brewed well. The peach syrup was cloyingly sweet and didn't mix in well. I would pass on this artificial tasting beverage. I read a review about the Halo-halo not being authentic! But I came by just to try. And I'm glad I did! It was so good! I could of eaten another one . I don't understand what THAT reviewer was referring to when he referenced that it wasn't authentic. Ok? To what island? Region? And what specific eatery/restaurant? All Halo-halo is made to who ever is making it and to what ingredients they have available AND if they have a decent Ice machine for shaved ice! I loved all the ingredients they had in it! The staff were really sweet and welcoming. And I was pleasantly surprised by the decor that was festive. I also tried the "Ube cheese pandesal" . Absolutely my favorite overall filipino dessert place...and I have only been there once. They had me at their Halo Halo! Halo Halo is an iced dessert with a mix of toppings buried at the bottom of a tall cup. It is usually topped with ube ice cream, ube jam, and a slice of Leche flan. Ohhh...Dessert Anatomy got it right! We were warned that it would be a 15-minute wait, but it was well worth it. All I know is that the ratio to each ingredient was perfect. But I did not just come here for the Halo Halo, I came for the desserts to take home. It was delicious! First, let's talk about the Yema Candy. They are round doughy balls rolled in sugar and reminded me of Leche de Pastillas. These, though, had a creamy filling that would be mistaken for being undercooked. I assure you, these were not, and these were the first things I ate and devoured by the next day. Next, the ube cupcake and cheesecake. Both were rightfully made to bring out the ube flavor, and it was successful. I do not recommend eating the cupcake after keeping it safe in my fridge as the texture was dry, but that ube flavor was there. The cheesecake was fantastic, and I would definitely eat again. Lastly, the sweet, creamy, almost gooey goodness of the Sapin Sapin. This glutinous rice dessert was beautiful in all its layers. The sweet coconut topping is always a plus on this popular dessert, and I enjoyed every scoop. This is just different than what my aunties serve at parties, and I am all for it. Will I go again? Was looking up sylvanas and found this little gem of a Filipino dessert place. The place is very cute and has comfortable looking chairs. Their servers were nice and friendly. Their door chime wouldn't stop the entire time we were there though. We went on Easter Sunday so we missed the ube sans rival and they didn't have sylvanas unfortunately for me. We bought everything to go so and was kinda sad that the classic sans rival we bought wasn't in our bag. So kinda sucks we don't get to try them. We did get their halo halo, ube cheesecake, ube pandesal, and 4 of their house-made ice cream. Love the flavors they remind me of the Philippines. We got the ube pastillas, clasic Sansrival, ube brazo and the mango float. It kinda melted together by the time we got home so can't be sure which flavor was which, but they were all unique and pretty good. Conveniently located right next to Mang Indo Restaurant and Market, I purposely went to this place to try and show friends their halo-halo. With a cute ambiance and setting inside the store with ample seating, their halo-halo did not disappoint. The workers nicely asked if we wanted sweet corn inside our halo-halo and gave us the option to remove ingredients if we would like to. Their halo-halo does not come with beans inside and the ube ice cream was very delicious which helped add a lot of flavoring to the entire dessert. Dessert Anatomy is a great little find on a very big Redlands Blvd, but worth the effort to find it. This Filipino dessert restaurant certainly has unique style desserts which we found to be refreshing and unique. The staff was super friendly and patient explaining the various desserts, see my pics of their show cases. It was a nice touch that when we seated ourselves, she turned their built-in TV to a soothing background music and Asian garden pictures. The interior was very cozy: a blend of a bit gaudy and a bit homey, but it felt welcoming. I doubt that I'll do justice in describing the Buko Pandan (the light green drink pic), but here goes ........ This drink was incredibly refreshing and soothing. The liquid has condensed and evaporative milk and probably coconut juice/water. So it was thicker than milk and sweet - but not overly sweet. The green items in the drink are small tapioca balls and firm gelatin squares. And if that wasn't different enough, there were a few corn kernels in there. While I'm the type that likes my ice cream straight-up, this drink worked for me. Now as to its key flavor: Pandan. This has a sweet and mild vanilla-like taste. Overall, I found this a refreshing and unique drink. Now getting back to more familiar foods, we shared their Ube cupcake. Ube is a purple yam which has a very slightly nutty, vanilla taste. I generally have found its true flavor to be masked by other ingredients. In this case the purple top swirl is like a dense, somewhat sweet cream cheese icing. The cupcake, itself, was a pretty dense dark Ube cake. The combination of icing and cake worked well together. As it was sweet, but not overly sweet, dense, creamy and a bit chewy. This was a filling cupcake. While this isn't your standard dessert place, it is a unique and alluring dessert island that we'll be returning to. read more

2023/106 This is a quaint local Filipino bakery that opened a year ago. Filipinos love desserts anytime of the day so tbis is heaven to me. Love the Brazo de Mercedes in a cup cake form. Was looking for a bakery close by to give a friend a few cupcakes when I went to visited her. With my trusty Yelp search I found Dessert Anatomy. The inside is nicely decorated and well maintained. Dessert anatomy is a family owned and ran bakery located in loma Linda CA. They specialize in Filipino baked goods. It's in a very small shopping center with a few other business. The parking lot is also small and usually pretty packed. So I started off with 4 red velvet cupcakes for my friend and her family. Then I opted on 4 buko pandan cups, 2 ube cupcakes, 1 espresso cupcake, 2 Brazo de Mercedes cupcakes, 1 ube cheesecake, 1 rocky road cupcake, 1 mini yema cake. I also wanted some esaymandas but they were all out. Kids enjoyed there cupcakes A few could have used a tad less sugar but still good. Except for the espresso cupcake it was not good. The frosting tasted like cleaner. The buko pandan cups are so yummy! The mini yema cake was really good too! Want to return to try their Halo Halo it looks bomb!!!
