What a serendipitous find on our way to Joshua Tree! We were looking for a lunch place, and felt like sandwiches. Never heard of this place before, but we wanted to try their sourdough. The day we went (Friday), they also had clam chowder, so we had to get a cup of that, and it comes with a sourdough roll (which was really nicely flavored, and had a nice dense texture). We ended up getting a turkey sandwich, as well as a blueberry scone and a peanut butter cookie (I mean, we had to wait for the sandwich, and the display cases were dangerous). They were very generous with the sandwich filling, the scone was also delicious, as was the soup. The one flop here was the peanut butter cookie. Could have been moister and chewier, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. You order your sandwiches by filling out a simple order form at the back counter. Bathrooms have a code and were clean. There are two single-stalled ones. Parking in the lot in the back. It was pretty easy when we got there. read more

Holy cow the breads are delicious here. We tried the Rosemary Garlic Sourdough Bread, Garlic Cheese Bread and Cranberry Orange Sweet Bread and all three were amazing. The flavors of each are delicious. The crust of the sliced loaves are soft and slightly chewy. The bakery apparently also offer sandwiches. Definitely worth trying if you are in the San Bernardino area, but know they close early at 2pm. read more

Using only fresh ingredients, you build your own sandwich by choosing everything you want in it. You have a choice of different breads and I chose Prairie Bread which is also known as Squaw. Bread is good, breakfasts are OK, sandwiches are good but vary by location. Rancho for some reason makes better sandwiches than San Bernardino. The service leaves a lot to be desired. Nobody wants to ask if you need anything, everybody avoids eye contact, probably Hoping you don't ask them for anything. I was so excited to try the banana bread, as it was recommed by the guy working there. Unfortunately, it was terrible. The banana tasted very fake. I ate one bite, wrapped it up and brought it back to the stall the following weekend. The same guy who recommended it said there was nothing he could do. I asked if I could just get a loaf of any other bread. His reply was we don't guarantee our products. WOW!!!! It would have been so simple to politely exchange it. This really is a hidden gem of the area because someone at work told me about it and I was like ok sure. I was blown away at how good it was and the bread! I know it's a baking company but sometimes you don't expect it to be this good. While sandwiches can be simple theses are made so well. The bread is fresh and fluffy while the deli meats are just perfect. I love that I can make my sandwich with any in house bread and add or remove things to my liking. I will say order ahead or get there early because the lunch rush is a thing at this location. They make them to order so expect to wait a little but it's worth it. It's definitely better than your local subway but it always takes longer. The parking lot in the back is small so beware during lunch. The ambiance is casual but they have seating inside if you wish to eat there. They also have a variety of desserts or cookies that changes often. So you go in for a sandwich walk out with some cookies too. It's definitely a fantastic place to stop and cost about the same as going to say Jimmy John's or Subway.
