Someone buys a car and the first time a wiper streaks, instead of having a reasonable conversation with the dealer, they scream on Yelp and push needles into a voodoo doll. My experience at Beck was great. I received excellent service, replies to text questions were quick and thorough, trade-in was haggle-free and according to market value. Salesman Edward S. made the transaction easy and pleasant. No, I'm not anyone's cousin or friend or nephew at Beck. My husband and I walked into the dealership on Central Park Avenue .There was a woman in an office I said "hello" three time aloud - she never even turned her head ! We walked over to the Traverse looked around opened the doors - no one came to assist us . I walked past her desk again said thanks for the help -once again she didn't even turn her head! Driving cross country and my AC stopped working today. I assume at 50k miles, the ac needs a recharge or fuse - or both. Stopped into Beck Chevrolet. Very dilapidated dealership. After I found the service advisor and told him what was going on, he told me I would have to drop the car and there is a $249 diagnostic fee. After telling him I was traveling, I would have assumed this person would have told me how long it would take, etc. He clearly had no interest. No wonder this place has 2.4 stars! My car has been 100% dealer maintained since new and I certainly wouldn't be a GM customer if I got this level of service at home in Denton, TX. I am absolutely appalled by my experience with Beck Chevrolet. I had my vehicle towed here while traveling out of state, and what unfolded was one of the most unprofessional and suspicious encounters I've ever had with a dealership. Beck Chevrolet told me my 2015 Chevy Cruze suddenly needed an $11,000 engine replacement, yet they refused to provide basic documentation such as actual compression test numbers, leak-down results, or photos to support their diagnosis. Any reputable service department knows these documents are standard -- the complete lack of transparency is alarming. Then it got worse. When I attempted to pay for the diagnostic service so I could remove my vehicle from their lot, they claimed "New York law" prohibits them from accepting payment over the phone unless my credit card matches the ID physically in person. This is completely false. There is no such law, and when asked to cite the statute, they could not provide a single reference. Instead, they continued to hide behind a made-up excuse. At this point, it feels clear that Beck Chevrolet is taking advantage of customers who are from out of state and vulnerable. They made retrieving my own vehicle unnecessarily difficult, refused reasonable payment methods, and provided no proof of the work they claimed to perform. Their conduct raises serious concerns about honesty, ethics, and compliance with the New York DMV Repair Shop Act. If you value transparency, integrity, and fair treatment, do yourself a favor and stay far away from Beck Chevrolet. This dealership's practices are predatory, misleading, and completely unacceptable. I had an issue with AWD on a two week old SUV, when I went to the sI was told I had to leave the car for the day. But they don't do loaners . the only car dealer I know that doesn't give out loaners. My suburban was destroyed while it was in Beck Chev care on a test drive, burnt to a wreck and now the President of Beck Chev Mr Geller per my insurance telling me is refusing to cooperate with my insurance for me and my insurance to recover our cost for the replacement of the vehicle. He is refusing to contact my insurance after their repeated calls and email and fed express to them to resolve the insurance issue with us. See the pictures attached. He states that he can not talk about the issue per his insurance requests but he is refusing to process the documents to his insurance. All of this has been told to me by Travelers insurance and they can prove they repeatedly reached out to him and are being ignored. AVOID THIS PLACE!! The quality of service here is horrendous. I've been to their service department four times while having under 8,000 miles. -The first time was for an oil change when despite having an appointment, I was turned away by the service advisor(claimed to be the service manager at this time) Dominic because "Don't have time today. We're short staffed." - The second time was for the oil change where the service advisor Joseph helped me. While there, I also mentioned concerns regarding the brakes squeekng and the door panels rattling. I was told the service tech could hear the noises in the door from a likely manufacturing defect. The tech also heard the brakes squeeking and lubricated them and I was told to let them know if they were still squeezing after I drove for about a week. I was told to come back early so they could take the day to remove the panels and take a closer look. I made an appointment on the spot and was told to arrive at 7:30(the posted opening time on the front door of the service center) the following week. - The third time I arrived at 7:20 to shockingly find nobody around. I walked around inside the entire dealership and service area uninhibited; In and out of offices where personal financial information and car keys were laying around. I had quite a blast by myself and learned a lot about the dealership and the way it is foolishly run in that time I was alone. It wasn't until 7:45 someone arriving at the dealership for the day stopped and asked if I needed help. By 7:50 the service advisor Dominic arrived and told me that they actually opened at 8am despite what I was told by a service rep and despite what the posted hours of operation are. A service tech confirmed hearing the brakes squeezing and the door panels rattling. The lubricated the brakes, and I was told to make an appointment to come back early and give them the day to work on the door panels. 4th time is the charm I tell myself, I drop the car off at 8am and I'm told the usual by Dominic "I'll try to have it looked at but can't guarantee anything." Why do I bother make an appointment if you can't guarantee the vehicle will be looked at? When I return I'm told by Dominic and the service manager that they couldn't replicate the sounds. The previous technician literally lubricated the brakes because there was a sound and he confirmed the rattling but now I'm being told there is nothing they can do because they don't hear it and don't believe me. Because I waited until around 8,000 miles to report the annoying sound. They said they believed it was because I have tinted windows,(which shows the ignorance of the manager since they never removed the panels to apply the tints.) they said no other similar type of vehicle has these issues(I had to stop myself from explaining the definition of a factory defect to the idiot.) The service manager was rude, Dominic looked like he didn't give a care in the world during each interaction. I have a masters in business administration with a concentration in management and a certificate in international business. I've worked with the state government, federal government and with several financial institutions. Luckily for me, I can see the signs of poor and in some cases, illegal management and operation. Thankfully, I know who to contact regarding the rather shady operations at this business from the service advisor even right down to the finance manager. But others may not know, so I am writing this rather lengthy warning in hopes others will need my warning. I didn't have the patience to argue with the service manager or general manager at the time because I know how to handle this outside of the business but be warned now to whoever may be reading this. read more

The Service Manager George at this place is a total shmuck. Incompetent and uncommunicative. I usually use a Chevy Service Department in Smithtown with talented mechanics that always keep me in the loop throughout the day. They fix it right the first time and take pride in their work. This Geoege guy would avoid my calls, attempt to charge me for things covered under warranty and oversaw a staff that got a single repair wrong three times before I threw my arms up in disgust and paid for a tow to my usual Chevy shop on the island. I asked that they only do an oil change but I guess they started to do the service and broke the cabin fan when they return the filter in its place. Same old Games. Went in to purchase a truck they had on the lot and was available. All cash purchase. At first the first salesman couldn't help us and just pointed out the truck. We looked at it from the outside and decided it was what we were looking for. We went back and offered to leave a deposit as the "truck specialist" was not in that day. She informed me there was another sales person who could help. After about 10 minutes waiting, we met the other salesman and went and looked at the truck with keys and the salesman this time. It was all cordial up to this point (although a lot of waiting). The salesman took my information, took my license and left us sitting at his desk for 10 minutes. Not sure what for. When he came back he informed us there was a manufacturer markup on the vehicle. (which is not true, It is a markup applied by the dealership) but not to worry he would work out a deal for us and speak to his manager. All in all it was a waste of time dealing with Beck Chevrolet and not worth it especially if this is supposed to be an ongoing relationship. read more

No more. I have purchased/leased 6 or 7 vehicles from Beck over the last several years, and have always brought them there to be serviced. That is officially over starting today. I would still recommend them for sales, because Glenn is awesome. But I am definitely NOT going to them for service again! The last few experiences have been terrible. If you actually want your vehicle fixed, and you want someone to communicate with you about the status of the repair, then DO NOT go here. Something has changed there, and the customer service is abysmal. One of my vehicles has been there for 9 days, and has NOT even been looked at yet!! And guess what? Nobody even contacted me to tell me! After calling ALL DAY today to find out when I can pick it up, I finally got someone to tell me that it hasn't even been seen yet. Completely unacceptable in my opinion. And I've been a good customer for years! When I finally spoke to people this afternoon, the attitude is as if they are doing me a favor! In addition, I've had to bring in a new Trailblazer over the last two weeks with a check engine light (two different issues apparently), and now the light is back on!! This is after waiting 6 hours the first time, and 3 hours the second time... So not that anyone at Beck Chevrolet will care, but you have officially lost a long-standing customer. You cannot treat your customers like this and expect them to stick around. I/we have had enough. It's exhausting. Surely there is another Chevy dealer that has to care and communicate better. If i could give 0 stars I would. It started in August, and i just got my truck back last week. I was told I was getting my car back at least twice a week for 2 months. At first I brought it in for a burning smell coming from the engine and a squeak in my drive shaft. They returned the truck to me with a burning smell still, and my drive shaft still squeaking. They did the rear main seal, cover valve gaskets, and then the heads. After their service manager (who is terrible) gave me his personal guarantee it would be done and it wasn't. They then had me come in to pick up my truck twice and then told me it wasn't ready. They then replaced the engine. After guaranteeing me on Thursday, it would be ready by Wednesday, it still wasn't. I didn't get my truck back for another week and a half. They never provided me with a loaner truck or anything to get around. They left rags in my engine bay, and returned my truck to me without the washer pump connected. Since I refuse to bring my truck back to them, I have to take it apart myself. Their customer service is terrible. They never reach out nor do they give you any type of updates. Extremely unprofessional, and I will make sure I never buy a car from them, and encourage others to go elsewhere. read more

WORST place to ever buy a car. Do not go here. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra miles to another Chevy dealership or don't buy a Chevy at all. I went (Dec 7, 2021) only because it is the closest Chevy dealer to me & I really needed a new car since my other car had broken down (another Chevy). I was sold two different insurance policies for the total of $5,000 without being told I was going to be charged for it, when I was told to sign, it was presented to me as if it came with buying a certified pre-owned vehicle and told to sign a blank digital screen. When they tell you to sign they just give you a blank screen with no information which is why I was never able to read that the policy clearly states in bold letters that it's NOT NECESSARY with the purchase of any vehicle which they of course failed to tell me. After finally reviewing all the insurance policy paper work in (April 2022) I wanted to cancel the policies they had charged me. I was told that the cancellation needed to be done in writing and it could be done through email. I immediately sent an email for cancellation and never heard anything from them. I followed up weeks later with the insurance policy and was told they never received a request for cancellation from the dealership. The insurance company was able to cancel it on their end after I told them the dealership was not helping me and giving me the runaround so they told me they would refund the dealership so they can credit my account. It's been months and the dealership hasn't credited one dime to my account! They don't return my calls, I go to the dealer to try and speak to someone and they say the person I need to speak to is always busy or is not there. Last time I went (June 2022) I was told the owner was on vacation and he's the one that needed to sign off on checks. I've called multiple times after and again no one follow ups from the dealership. This place knows absolutely NOTHING about customer service or know how to go about doing good business, so save yourself the headache and avoid this place at all costs. read more

I did reach out to Brian Levine who said he would investigate the situation, try to work out a solution that we could agree upon,and get back to me. After a week I tried to reach out to Brian Levine again,only to hear from his service manager George. I was told to bring the car in so can look at it. All they did was give me same line of nonsense that it was a new problem and that the warranty expired. Back in October before the warranty expired, they had my car 10 days looking for a/c leak. They changed the compressor.Next day no A/C.. Not wanting to be without my car, I told the service manager I would be willing to bring the car back in March when they weren't busy and he agreed. March they tell me the compressor they installed wasn't working,so they replaced it. Next day no a/c. again. That's where we today. They say the condenser is bad but since the warranty expired it would cost $1000. What a coincidence, the condenser broke after they installed two compressors . They know they can't go back to the warranty company after the changed the wrong part. So now it's my problem. They are in my opinion DISHONEST AND VERY INCOMPETENT read more

My family and I have leased multiple cars from this dealership for decades now but never again. The service employees are so unprofessional. They argue with each other in front of customers and they disrespect me every time I have a question or concern. They keep your car longer than agreed on and don't call to give updates. I've been waiting since December to get my rims repaired because the service manager said he would get back to me, and of course, I've had to chase them down and still no response. Traveled an hour an a half to look at a van after booking an appointment. When I looked at the van the hood was switched for some reason. Even worse the van would've definitely not have passed inspection since the wipers were getting stuck in the switched hood and wouldn't work. It was also extremely filthy inside the van. Absolutely horrible. They did not complete the work that they charged me for. There were even fluid caps rolling around on my dash so I have no idea whether my air conditioner is even going to work now that I paid $1,800 dollars to get it fixed because the manager (George Guzman) and the staff are so incompetent. I'm sincerely worried that making the choice to go there may have cost me much more than the $1,800 it's already cost me because they weren't even able to tell me if the cap was from my car. This was all after it took over twenty minutes just to get me my keys when I came to pick the car up. These are truly stupid, awful people with no respect for others' time and property. I normally only rate restaurants, but these guys seemed to go above and beyond for me, and I wanted to write about it. It's a clean place, the people are all very helpful, and though I sent in there with the expectation of being treated in the typical way we all expect to be treated at car dealerships, I was disarmed and relaxed by my second visit. The salesperson I worked with (OC) was very accommodating, and going the extra mile, picking me up from the station, etc. I won't discuss price, but they beat other dealerships and had the exact car I waned (a Chevy Cruze LTZ, which I'm loving, though I'm not sure how long it'll last with my better half driving it). I never felt rushed. Every person I interacted with was helpful, fair, and sincere. The other sales guy (Jewish guy with white hair, forget his name) was amazingly cool, and helpful to me even though it wasn't his sale. Finance manager also made a slight mistake in my favor, and honored it. When I got there for the test drive, they had my vehicle ready to go. We got to drive the car as much as we wanted, and after driving the Focus (which was amazing) I felt I needed a second test-drive to make sure the Cruze was as good. I think they're about equal (ride-wise), but that's besides the point. I happen to live in a more affluent area in LI, and it's definitely worth to take the trip up to Yonkers and save some $$, and still get better treatment from regular guys. the only reason I can't give these guys 5 stars is that they're a Chevy dealership, but don't stock Corvettes. They have Camaros though. Thanks for making the experience as stress-free as possible, and taking the time to explain all the various options. Good people, and the process was lots of fun. read more

I'll never take my truck here for service again. I took my tahoe here for repairs from an accident. The guy named Bob seemed to pretty much blow me off when I was telling him about the work that needed repair. I left the truck there and heard nothing for a week. So I call and the guy laughs saying they didn't touch the car because they got, "swamped" with other cars... wtf so you neglected my car for a week, while tending to everyone else's car who got there after mine? At that point I decided I did not want them touching my vehicle. I went to pick it up and the guy gets into a yelling match with me. Then threatens if I give them a bad review, he would say I wanted him to commit insurance fraud... What kind of professionalism is that? Thanks to Bob, ill never use Beck Chevy again. There no good in service department. I can write numerous stories. From dinging my hood and denying it, to changing my throttle body for 660 bucks when in fact after it happened again with a breakdown again Pepe Cadillac told me that a hose was the cause. Recent bad experience with a tire warranty. The parts department guys are real good and give you a great deal versus other dealers and if you need parts they will do the right thing to get the sale. Look the tell is that you can't park in their lot so that means there too busy to work on your car and so go some where else. I do not recommend Curry chev Because they misdiagnosed my starter issue as a battery issue twice charging me a fee and they were wrong about the two batteries being dead in the end so if a dealer can not figure out an issue there mechanics are too lazy to diagnose or don't know what there doing. You really do not have much choices for GM anymore because there were two GMC deleships one on Yonkers Ave and one in New Rochelle that went under years ago. There is a GMC dealership at the northen end of Central Ave near white plains that might be less busy and not as well known. Theres also New Rochelle chef that's under a new manager and he seems to be trying to fix the service issues there in an all out effort and he's a nice guy. Beck is just too busy in the service department and the unofficial policy in dealerships is if you buy your car there that they will look out for you more so but as I said they have too many customers coming in. Oh also there is Lasorsa if you don't mind driving 4 miles into the bx.. The guy on here who bought Becks tire and rim warranty was ripped off. I got mine from New Rochelle chev I paid 550 for 5 years and no max limit on claims and your max limit is 2500 and you paid 1000 for the policy. There totally ripping people off for that warranty on tires and rims. Go to Sams club and get theirs or New Rochelle chev next time. read more

They are always courteous, find time on short notice, do quality work, and best of all, always keep me informed about when my car will be ready. There are cheaper places, and more convenient ones, but it's worth it to me to take the car to Beck and not have to worry about it. Great Experience Needed to trade in my car for a new one - no one would give me what I knew my car was worth. After trying multiple dealers and being told the same thing I tried Beck. I told them my story and they worked with me and gave me what I needed on my car to make the new deal work. John the salesman was amazing - did everything he could to get me in the car I wanted....the finance person went above and beyond - they worked together to make sure I was happy when I walked out of there. I will gladly go back and I am telling everyone I know how nice it was to deal with people who were honest and actually gave me a great deal and truly seemed to care that I left there happy. Just to summarize my experience with your company , I brought my car in to you 12/11/2019 and picked it up from you 2/20/2020, 9 weeks. Among other minor issues I brought the car in because it was making a rubbing sound (metal to metal) coming from the front wheels, as described on your invoice. I was told from your rep, Tom that the noise was coming from the drive train, specifically the 4 wheel drive, I then gave permission to fix it. The cost was t $3,453.61 plus tax. I picked up the car about 2 weeks ago and I still had the same problem. Brought it back to you and was fixed by repairing the hub bearing and back plate at no charge with a cost about $700.00 according to Bob your service manager. It seems to me that I should be paying the $700 and you should be giving me credit for the $3,453.61.There was nothing wrong with the 4 wheel drive and I did not ask to fix the 4 wheel drive. To top it all off you left my car a big grease mess inside, picture attached. Bob cleaned the outside but didn't bother to clean the inside. Your customer service sucks. I don't expect you to reach out to me at this point, but I would like to know if there is something I stated here that is not true. I will wait a bit and then I will post this letter on social media.
