What a joke this place can be. I called them at 9 AM made an appt for 1 pm & arrived at the scheduled time. I Waited almost an hour & a half. They told me they can only do 1 car inspection per hour as per the NYSDMV. I said don't you have cameras from the NYSDMV watching what you're doing? It didn't make sense to me. So after a little bit over an hour I went up and asked when my car was gonna be seen. The "manager" behind the counter says, your car is next. After approx 15-20 minutes of wasting more of my time, they lead me into the garage saying all four tires have dry rot and all 4 need to be replaced. The mechanic also told me that my brake pads needed to be repaired. They may have been right about this. Although I haven't had any screeching yet, but it could be possible it will happen sooner than later. Guy says I can't pass your car for inspection. I asked him how much he would charge for 4 new tires and all 4 brake pads, he quoted me over 1,400$. I said please take my car off the lift and put the tires back on I'm going to another shop to get more quotes. Then I paid 34$ for the "diagnosis". I told the service woman behind the counter, thanks for your business, I will not ever go back there and if I meet anybody who asks me if I would recommend Mavis of Yonkers, I will NOT be recommending that place of business. The brake pads are a different story and may be needed to be replaced soon. I will not go back Sam I am; I will not in a house or with a mouse. I don't think so Mavis Sam I Am. And I'm sure they prey on younger, uneducated drivers and take advantage. They are very good at being "Time wasters" @ Mavis in Yonkers. I dropped off the car and they called me a few hours later to pick up. More recently, I got a nail in my tire. Came in around 4pm - fair warning, a lot of people come in 4-5pm - thankfully I came early enough to beat the after work crowd and there was only 1 person ahead of me. I sat down in a little seating area with TV on, waited about 20 min and they came back and told me it was all done. They plugged the tire and I was on my way.
