I've had terrible experiences before where after a consultation, the dentist would suggest this crazy treatment plan for more fillings and crowns than I needed. Ended up wrecking my front teeth and getting crowns when I didn't need them. 2 years later and I'm still dealing with those failing crowns. Dr. Beck assured me we can fix and save teeth where possible and taught me that there's a different more conservative way to hang on to your teeth and it's not the end of the world if you don't get things fixed right away. The front office is great, the dental hygienists are great. I have nothing but good things to say. Dr. Beck is a great guy but his staff needs training. The receptionists are condescending jerks. I will find a new dentist closer to my home. I called while on my way in because their was an issue with our insurance, the corporation my wife works for changed their insurance. Instead of helping me, in a condescending tone on the phone the receptionist said, "Well, we wanted you to call in before so we could figure this out. Since your appointment is in 20min. We will just take care of it when you get here." Hate to point out the obvious but I was calling before my appointment. Her tone was particularly annoying but it was he unwillingness to assist that earned the 2 stars. That's a star per fact that's still as I sit here waiting for later appintoment annoys me. fact 1 - I called to try and resolve the issue before my appointment. So I could be seen on time. When I got there it took 20 min to finally get out of her that all I needed was to get my wife's social. Thus, I missed my appointment. fact 2 - The forth or fifth condescending moment of our interaction when she said, "If your willing to wait we can see you at 10am." Sure, I'm willing to be scene 40min after my original appointment because you didn't want to take 5 min while I was on my way to explain what the issue was.... BOZO! Dr. Beck should replace these disrespectful assistants with staff that is trained to align with the customer's concerns and lifestyle. It's pretty ridiculous that they're reaction is to be standoffish in assisting a customer who obviously has a busy lifestyle. To be condescending because the time isn't convenient for them, and to waste my time because they aren't smart enough to just say, "Oh, you have an appointment in 20 min. Let me look into what we need to verify before you get here." BTW: Anava was great, she actually provided my care. I normally don't like do negative reviews but in this case I am making and exception, if I could put 0 stars I would. On 6/16/22 my husband saw Dr. Beck Jr. for his bridge that had came out and needed replaced. We had applied for Care Credit and were approved for $5,000, since we have no dental insurance. I had been seen by Dr. Beck Sr. years ago and had to have dentures. They were very pleasant and at that time and reasonable. I had been referred by a friend of there's that goes to their Mormon Church. This is why we choose this office. On 6/16/22 my husband was seen for an exam and X-rays the charge was $171.00. After my husbands visit the office manager helped us at front desk and figured out what the total charges for the bridge and one crown was going to cost us. She told us it was going to be $6,200 this is not including the $171.00. We nearly fell over at the cost. We are seniors on very limited income. I had brought our Care Credit approval printout for the $5,000 along with Care Credits phone number, and my account number. My husbands card hadn't arrived yet. The manager gave a me hassle over this and wasn't sure if she would accept it, although they are a provider. We choose not to have the work done for I still would of had to of paid $1,371. extra and that's if they found nothing else wrong. (for those of you who don't know how Care Credit works, they cover doctor, dental and vet surgeries or high charges, and if its paid off within a year or 18 months what ever time limit they give you there is no finance charges. Its for people who need it that don't have insurance.) Anyways, we felt their charges were way too high and declined services, I also would like to add that they the wouldn't give any type of cash discount. Care Credit is like paying cash they pay in one lump sum with no discounts or allowances like contracted insurances do. On that visit we paid the $171. for my husbands exam on our bank debit card. Now 5 months later we received a bill from Beck Dental showing the $171.00 past due. We never received any bills until now. Mind you this was paid at front desk of the day of the service to no other than their office manager. Today I called their office after researching our bank account and found the payment. I spoke with a Dana I believe her name was at Dr. Becks office. My husbands account still shows outstanding, I explained to her what happened she wanted to know if my payment was Visa or Mastercard and I told her again it was my debit card, which is also a Visa. She said, that she would pull the receipts for that day and if she couldn't find it she would call me back. She never once apologized for the mistake or inconvenience. They really must be desperate for money it makes me wonder how many other older people they have done this too, that maybe forgot they paid it and paid again. Very bad P.R. in their part. I worked medical for over 30 years and this is plain incompetence. read more

I have been going here since I was about 3 years old along with my whole family and my siblings as well since we were all little. The only reason why I had to recently switch over was because my employer's insurance recently changed to delta dental HMO. My new/HMO dental place told me that I needed expensive dental work...two partial crowns (about $2500 and that my out of pocket cost would be about $1700). Mind you, I'm only 28 and other than the occasional cavity and needed filling, I have never needed any real sort of dental work up until this point, as my teeth are overall in pretty good condition and I go to the dentist at least once a year. I called my sister (who used to work as a dental office manager for several years and is very well versed with dental insurances and costs for different procedures) and she confirmed what I already thought - those prices were very high and she was also suspicious of the dental work that they told me I "needed." She recommended I call around and ask for a second opinion. The only person I knew I could trust for a 2nd opinion was Dr. Beck and his staff. Once he examined my teeth he confirmed my suspicions that the other place was just trying to squeeze me for some $. He let me know that partial crowns were not needed at all and that my teeth were just stained but other than that they were perfectly healthy teeth. The other place was going to make me pay for: 1. astronomical amounts on procedures that I didn't even need and 2. Take away/drill perfectly healthy teeth and input partial crowns, thus taking out healthy tooth If it wasn't for Dr. Beck I'd be out $1700 and two perfectly good teeth!!!! Dr. Beck is an amazing doctor and a great dentist, but most importantly, he is TRUSTWORTHY!!!! If you're looking for a reliable and trustworthy dentist then this is the place for you!!! read more

I have been seeing hygienist Melissa and Dentist, Dr. David Beck, since 2001. I have received only the best of care from Beck Dental, and I could not be more pleased with this practice. Many years ago I was to leave for Mexico on vacation, and the day before departure I had a molar that cracked. Even though I had not been a patient for long, they saw me that day and temporarily fixed my tooth. Permanent repair was done when I returned. The office is immaculately clean and the office staff is friendly and efficient. Side note. The review written on 2/15/17 that gave this practice 1 star, is unjustified. A tooth that cracks almost TWO YEARS after a dentist works on it...is not the fault of the dentist. read more

the whole family is a dentist! very friendly and clean and they get you in and out within an hour. now they have a system where if you put your cell phone number in their chart they'll send you a reminder appointment text that you can confirm and also another reminder on the day of the appointment. as forgetful we are I think this is awesome feature that they added into their office. they'll try to get pre authorizations before they start any work to avoid extra fees out of pocket and explains what needs to be done. highly recommend it to any locals they are in need to switch. you will not regret as I had bad experiences in the past with my doctors. I am able to go in during my lunch hours and make it out of there before my hour lunch ends. very fast and know what they are doing. very little wait time as well! read more

I am PETRIFIED of the dentist... We're talking losing sleep a week before my appointment, have to take anxiety medication just to go in for a cleaning! I stumbled upon Beck Dental after numerious "not so good" appointments at other dentist offices. 1) one dentist I saw. While drilling on my molar to fill a cavity, the drill bit snapped and got lodged in my throat!! I was literally choking, and theybhad to call 911. 2) At a diff dentist they were trying to replace a filling that had partially fell out. They "could not" get me numb enough and had to stop... The sent me home with a hole left in my tooth (bright now dental) 3) thel next dentist was able to fill my tooth and get me.numb enough (come to find out I metabolize novacane quickly... A common issue amongst many) that dentist was actually really good and helped ease my anxiety by giving me head phones to help drown out the sound of the drill and put my chair up a little so I wasn't laying flat. They said I needed every filling replaced. So they worked on half my mouth but I soon noticed after that all my teeth on that side were now sensitive to pressure and cold. So I decided to seek another opinion. Now here we are at Beck. Not only did he say I didn't need all my fillings replaced, but he helped figure why my teeth hurt. He is such a mellow person and calming force. I have had multiple visits now and although my fear never goes away, I think it's safe to say I finally found my dentist. He talks to me in depth about each procedure and answers all of my questions with clear honest answers. He makes me feel like Im not crazy hahaha and I've never had an issue. This has to be the worst Business I've ever seen. First of all, the staff is not friendly, unwelcoming and totally unprofessional. After they charged me $170 dollars for a consultation I never heard back from them. As opposed to the other Dental offices I've recently visited that charged me about a third of what they charged. Long story short. They gave me my consultation of what the work they planned to do,and price. So I politely told them I would think about it and get back to them. After a couple days. I called them and said ok,I will go ahead with everything and get the work done there. About 5 days go by and I heard nothing from them. So I physically went in there and said Ummmm oooook do you guys not want my money or what. I have to chase you guys down to get my Business. And mind you I told them that I would pay in cash. And were not talking a cavity or 2 or a couple hundred dollars. Were talking over 20,000.. So they said ok. They took a couple molds and said they will call me next week to start the appointments. Now here we are almost 3 weeks later. Haven't heard 1 word. Not an email, not a phone call,not a text, nothing, absolutely nothing. When in turn the other 3 Dentists I seen have called,text sent emails and so on. I've never ever seen such negligence, unprofessional courtesy in my life. Who in the world turns down Business especially when paying in cash. I'm about to go in there and bring a boatload of cash. And not here a peep for 3 weeks. Obviously they don't need my Business. Excellent! I had been looking for a dentist around the city for my daughter. I had little qualifications so I didn't think it would be so hard. Almost every time I called to schedule an appointment with a dentist the receptionist were so rude. I was seriously about to give up. I called Dr. Becks office and the receptionist was so nice, answered all my questions and then scheduled the appointment. The appointment was scheduled at a reasonable amount of time which was awesome. For the appointment I walked into a nice clean office. They had a spacious waiting room, and a corner with cool kids toys. I filled out some paper work waited for like 5 minutes and was passed. My daughter was seen by an amazing dentist, she's 2 so he took extra measures to make her feel comfortable. He explained his every move and every tool he used. I'm guessing my daughter loved this cause she did everything he asked for. At the end he congratulated her and then asked if I had any questions. Once that was done I went to schedule another appointment. The only thing that threw me off was that there were what looked to be like two receptionist but the one you schedule appointments with and turn in all new patient paperwork was on the left. Kinda hidden. Other then that, this office was great. Efficient, friendly and just plain amazing. If my insurance covered it I'd be a patient here too. Anyways, all in all. My mom is going through breast cancer and the receptionist asked her what kind of cancer she had and then told my mom this story of her friend who died from breast cancer. This is totally unprofessional and my mom was there for a tooth cleaning, not a story that would make her paranoid. I'm not a patient, but my Dad is. He loves Dr. Beck (James). Says he is so patient and kind. I'm writing a review about the office support staff though. They too, are VERY patient and kind. My dad's dental appointment went waaaaay past closing time. I know what its like to be tired and want to go home. I apologized for them having to stay but they were so gracious. No attitude, comments or rolled eyes. Just pleasantly calm and patient, keeping busy. The next week I brought them a dozen cupcakes from My Delight (Ontario - on Mountain, south of the 10)... to show them how much I appreciated them. As expected they were very gracious and thankful. Dr. Beck has the smoothest hands of any Dentist I've ever been to. You hardly feel the needle in your mouth when he's giving you a shot. He must have been a masseuse or something cause you don't feel any pain. He is a Dental Ninja. My whole family goes there. Ruth does a great job cleaning my teeth and if you have a tee time, she will cut the cleaning short. This office rocks...Audrey is the best dental assistant in the office, here caring smile and positive attitude will make this the best dental experience. My family and I have been going to Beck Dental for years, started with the father, Dr. Gary Beck. The dentists are great, if they feel that you can hold off on certain procedures or things like that, they will let you know, and that way you do not have to have anything unnecessary done. The bedside manner could be a little better with the dentists, not really the warmest of people, but they are friendly and helpful enough. The hygienists are wonderful and thorough! My main problem with them? The office staff, they can be incredibly rude and short with you. My nephew had braces done by Dr. Beck, the staff would make him wait, and ignore him when my nephew was finished and wanted to pay. There was a recentish turnover of office staff, because the last ones were just as rude. Unfortunately they hired the exact same type of people. The dentist is great, the hygienists are great, the office staff is horrible. read more
