This unassuming place had very good service and food. We had stayed in the area and had breakfast in the restaurant and dinner in the bar. I do not recommend the bar unless you're okay with cigarette smoke coming in from patio area. The door was open to the back when we were there. The restaurant in front was comfortable. read more

French Dip is the worst I've ever had. they say toasted bread. It it was not. the au jou had no flavor. No seasoning on any of the food. Stopped on a road trip for lunch based on online ratings, but almost (and should have) moved on to find another place. Typical diner food but feels dirty and without any ambiance - just the hum of ventilation equipment. Not terrible food but not friendly service and ice water tasted odd ... and was told beer/ bar only open on weekend. Maybe an off day as it was empty but not much offered other than burgers or grilled cheese after breakfast. Next time would look elsewhere. read more

Tastefully Western-themed, kind and solicitous staff. - Bloody Mary: I would come back for this alone! Plenty of olives, asparagus, and lime. The server even kindly asked whether I wanted clamato or tomato base and if I wanted it spicy! A woman after my own heart. - Breakfast combination with eggs, hash browns and toast: A large portion. HORRIBLE FOOD!!!! The service was pretty bad too. She was NOT friendly, whatsoever. Me, my husband and my brother went in and got very basic food, and ended up paying $45 for 2 sandwiches and very bad finger steaks. You can seriously buy better French fries at Walmart and cook them at home versus the fries they give you. The new owners have totally DESTROYED a beautiful little gem in Glenn's Ferry. Literally the worse experience on this trip! My family and I are headed to Seattle and of course tired of fast food we decided to take a stop and dine here, being that there is no specification on pets I first got down to inquire the waitress said she had to ask the boss eventually she said yes but we had to sit outdoor in their patio (no problem). I asked the lady are children allowed she said yes of course just not next door as that is a bar. Totally understandable as we are waiting for a waitress to come take our order ultimately a guy comes out asking for ID's I responded letting him know um these two are my kids and of course our two pets ( mind you they are very small Maltese) and on their leashes and clearly sitting next to my children. He indicated that we weren't allowed to sit there that we had to dine inside I proceeded to explain I had already spoken to the staff in the front he replied in the most rudeness way I am telling you no kids and animals whoever told you is wrong. Needless to say not only were we offended but the racism is definitely at high peek here! Horrible male employee!!!!!! read more

New owners took over this year and we are only in town on a seasonal basis. We came to this restaurant under previous owners and always told folks they had very, very good burgers. We have visited twice under new ownership & name. Our first visit was great and we had good & service as expected. Today we stopped in and order drinks, appetizer and meal. Folks came in after us and set down after us, yet they received their food first. We received our drinks in a timely manner and they were fine, we received our meal shortly after folks who came in after us received their food. When our food was brought to table, we were asked if there was anything else. My response was, yes....where is our appetizer? No apology or anything. We started eating our meal since I had set there watching my burger & fries set up on self waiting for cook to prepare those who came in before us meals were cooked & served! Half way through our meal, the appetizer arrived, again no apology or anything! So now I have to decide, do I eat my meal that I had witnessed setting up on self for a while and let my appetizer get cold or do I forego my meal and eat my appetizer and let meal get colder! Through out the entire time, neither the person who took or order and also cooked our meal nor the two young girls who came in afterwards, yet served our food made any attempt to say; "sorry for confusion and not getting your appetizer out on time"! Since we are in town for only 4 months and the restaurants in the area are limited, we will give this place another chance but hope our next visit is much better!! Because my wife & I are volunteers in the community, we have a lot of folks ask us for recommendations as to a "good place to eat"! Last year while here, we always recommended this place under the name of Oregon Trail Grill as a good place for great burgers and friendly service. Before doing the same this year, we will attempt another visit to see how things go. If it goes as it did today, it will be our last visit and I'll tell others to avoid this place! Four of us went for dinner on a Friday evening and enjoyed prime rib with all the trimmings absolutely delicious and very satisfying! Enjoyed cocktails from the bar that had a nice pour and great taste to them. The wait staff was very accommodating and a pleasure. Of course our plates were filled with food so we couldn't eat it all and had to take some home for a second helping! I absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone who is in the area! Stopped here on our way back to Salt Lake. Great food, friendly staff, clean bathroom. Love the historical bar and "Seat yourself" mentality. If you like small town cafes, this place hits the spot. read more

When we first entered we were able to pick our seats (the place was empty) but it was hard to find a table that was clean. We each ordered French toast, it stated "two slices or three", and we each ordered two. When it came out the two slices =2( 1/2 slices) .It was mediocre to poor at best and then I ordered eggs and my husband hash browns. For what we ordered and a coffee and tea for $27 was extremely disappointing. When the waitress brought out the thing of tea bags to choose from, my husband had to ask for some that were Not moldy. The cook was grumpy but our waitress was okay. It's a shame that there are not better options for restaurants in this town. Extremely disappointing and just gross. read more

This is the 2nd time we have been under new ownership. Once for lunch, once for breakfast. It will be our last time. So disappointed because it used to be great! Stopped today for breakfast and only one customer there. It took 10 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge us. She looked like she spent her time on her phone and could care less about waiting on customers. Food took almost 45 minutes to get and it was terrible. How do you mess up bacon and eggs? Food sucks all the way around and service sucks just as bad. Such a shame but I don't see them lasting unless something changes. read more

Unsanitary cooks prepping your food (watched the cook handle cash then food without hand washing. Also touched her head and hair then food without hand washing).
